~Christian

Just as the sun began to rise gradually over one of the most prosperous cities of North Carolina, a flock of tiny, jittery gray birds began to chirp a lovely tune that summoned the start of an early, yet soothing and harmonic morning. Near a small red house enclosed by clustered bouquets of varicolored, prismatic colors, a cat silently woke up, arising after a long, pleasant slumber.

The door swung open, startling the cat, which caused it to take refuge behind some tall ferns bordering the house. A rather small but body built male skipped across the stone stairs that lead away from the door way and onto a clear, clean path. He wore a bright smile on his face and a white Marshmellow shirt which overtly shows his passion for the populous DJ star. He touched the handle of the white van that laid before him, when all of a sudden, he heard his mother call out in a melodic, high voice.

"Christian! Wait for mommy!" She sang as her ruby red purse bounced up and down in a rhythmic pace beside her. Her son, Christian, could only sigh and shake his head at the tone of her voice.

"Mo-oo-om! Stop acting so ridiculous! I'm a high schooler now, stop talking to me as if I were still a five year old!" Christian groaned, but even after hearing his protest, you could see a glimmer of amusement reflecting in his dark brown eyes. He let out a chuckle and sat himself on the passenger seat, waiting patiently for his mother.

As soon has his mother set her purse between her legs, she looked at Christian with a cheerful, optimistic gaze.

"You'll be happy to know, Christian, that I have a HUGE surprise for you! Something that'll take your mind off of school for sure for the next two weeks!" She began, unable to control herself after a couple of seconds staring into her son's eyes.

Christian tilted his head, cocking it from one side to the other with a rather perplexed gaze. His mother, however, only laughed harder and louder.

"Oh, Christian! If only you'd knew! Your father wants to keep it a surprise, though, so I won't say what it is. Just be prepared tomorrow night to receive the best news ever!" Christian's mother exclaimed with a hearty laugh. The wide, open shape of her smile definitely reflected the joy and excitement she held in her soft hazel eyes.

After a few minutes of her bubbly, giggly laughter, she hit the gas pedal and drove the van straight towards Herold High.

Arriving around the curb where the high schoolers usually get dropped off, Christian took hold of his electric green backpack and swung it swiftly over his shoulder. With one click, he slithered free from his seatbelt and turned to face the door. Not before he heard his mother's high, bubbly voice ringing in his ears once more, though.

"Bye, sunshine! I love you so much! Have a great day, and don't let those pesterous big boys get in your way today!"

"Love you, mother!" The young male responded. He pushed the door open and whirled his head around once he got off. He smiled brightly at his mother and blew her a kiss.

Crazy or not, she's my mother. How can I not thank her for everything she has done for me! I do hope the surprise is as good and exciting as she makes it seems! He thought in his head.

He made his way to the entrance of this intimidating, fearsome looking building he called his high school. Surrounding him was the gossip of the most popular girls, laughing and giggling and shrieking at all sorts of whatnot. Their voices was mixed in with football players shoving and pushing each other around while saying some sorts of profanity to each other. The ringtones of several cellphones could also be heard from a distance, and small clusters of young high schoolers were found at the doorway of the high school, as usual. Christian sighed, feeling a strong notion of peace at the core of his heart.

Today's going to be great! Christian thought in his head.

He kept pondering and making images in his head of his "great" day, until one second later, or what felt like a second later, he felt his body abruptly plummet onto the rough, black concrete with a loud thud. Christian let out a shriek of pain as he felt his arms and legs getting grazed against the the surface. He struggled to lift up his head, but when he did, he was able to make out the image of his childhood adversary before being pinned harshly onto the concrete once more.

"Well, well, well? Look who we have here? Who do you think we have have here, you guys?" A low, menacing voice hissed beside his ear, making Christian shudder of utter unease and fear. To make matters worse, a thin, scarlet stream poured down the side of his face where his adversary could see. He was given a smirk in return.

A tall, skinny, yet fearsome appearing dark skinned male spoke behind the guy who slammed the helpless young male.

"Gee, Ace. I don't know. That, in my eyes, looks like a useless, midget sized punk to me," he replied with a dark grin, his dark iris divulging a desire to do some sort of evil or dirty work. With one finger, he pointed at Christian with utter contempt, causing his friend by his right side to cackle like malicious witch, who just obtained the final ingredient to make some sort of potion that could possibly destroy the whole world. Christian couldn't help but grimace at the sound of his laugh.

"True that, Juan! Should we show him what happens with toothpicks and midget sized punks like him?" The pale white boy next to Juan said, nudging his elbow in an eager manner. He, too, let out a malicious grin towards the short freshman. Ace then cleared his throat, which interrupted the two males in the back from cackling and teasing.

"I will do that, thank you very much, Malachi. You all are more than welcome to watch me beat the living crap out of him, though!" Ace replied gruffly, letting out a laughter that had rapidly become notorious and recognizable throughout the whole school. His friends replied with a laugh of their own.

Christian wriggled and kicked and twisted about in Ace's grip just like an elementary student would. Ace was, unfortunately, much stronger and clever than he was, and definitely more buff. He's dated plenty of girls, younger or older, yet no female seemed to satisfy him enough for at least a week. Nothing seemed to ever satisfy him; he always wanted more. To justify himself, he would flashback to the time he received an abhorrent looking black eye and a scar on his left hand from a confrontation with Ace. He thought that after the mass disaster Ace caused on him, he would be satisfied and pleased with his work.

Nonetheless, here he was, still menacing and mocking and beating him up as many times as he could.

Christian kept struggling to get out of his grip, but after many attempts, he realized it was no use; he didn't want to seem like a fool to the high schoolers who were actually watching the conflict; he was firm that there was.

It's going to happen; you're going to let him beat you up again, and you're going to come back home crying silently but secretly so no one would know the trouble you, once again, got into, He whined in his thoughts.

But then, As Ace's hot breath wafted over the nostrils of the pinned freshman, he felt a fervid fire igniting inside of his chest instantly, but it wasn't apprehension or anxiety. It wasn't due to Ace's breath, either.

He felt as if someone rubbed a match near his heart and ignited it so a wildfire could spread throughout his body. He felt the fire spreading, becoming more fervid and powerful as it spread throughout his body. His breath never faltered, however; rather, it grew stronger, louder, and rather...fearsome?

He felt his white teeth flashing at the three boys, revealing his contempt and hatred towards his school enemies. He widened his eyes and felt he was no longer able to even blink. His gaze was solely focused on his real enemy: Ace. He stared at him, gritting his sharp teeth in anger and clenching his fists into tight balls. He recalled the moments where he let Ace and his friends push him around, making him feel smaller than he already was (unfortunately for him.)

No more! Today, I'll show him the me under my small body. I'll reveal the strong man I really am and scare him away!

His thoughts of revenge rolled infinitely inside his mind, increasing the fire spreading wildy inside of him. With a vociferous roar, he lifted himself up from the ground and swiftly crashed into Ace. He wrestled viciously with the muscle man, twisting and turning whatever his hands laid on, followed by several bites from his sharp white teeth, piercing the shoulder of his adversary with utter pleasure. He immediately received a yowl of pain and shock from Ace. It was pretty hard to contain his laughter of triumph and revenge.

"How do you like that, oh mighty Ace?!" He mocked him using a majestic, formal, yet extremely sarcastic tone with a dark grin. Before young Ace could react, he flipped him over and slammed his face onto the concrete- exact what Ace did to him earlier- which caused him to let out a yelp.

"Stop! Stop this at once!" He ordered angrily, hissing at the pain from the impact.

  He didn't listen.

Christian held him to the ground while arching his back. He moved around swiftly and rapidly, knocking Juan and Malachi off of him repeatedly as they poorly attempted to rip him off from his helpless opponent. Christian fought with Ace for a while longer, unaware of the curious, intrigued eyes that happened to focus their attention towards the scene. He was a warrior in battle, proving to his opponents his mighty strength and courage, something he kind of wished he did a long time ago.

He leaned forward until he met up with his right ear, and in the best, soft yet menacing voice he could muster, he said, "I've waited long to do this, fellow Ace. Let's have some fun, shall we?"

He gave a little wink. He grabbed his shoulders forcefully and got ready to slam them to the ground in one big motion, when all of a sudden he heard a startling, shrilling whistle of the wrestling coach, thus causing him to almost immediately let go of him.

"CHRISTIAN! ACE! JUAN! MALACHI! ENOUGH! GET OFF OF EACH OTHER! RIGHT. NOW!" His gruff, deep voice thundered across the high school grounds. He surprise Christian by grabbing him with his long arms and shoving him forcefully off of Ace. The other coach took care of Ace, helping him up but also giving him a lecture.

Everyone stopped what they were doing and whirled their heads to face the four twisting, struggling freshmen. Christian felt his face burn. He did not like being the center of attention, but at the same time, he felt a hint of triumph, triumph because he finally faced the formerly fearsome Ace; he played so much attention to that feeling of triumph and accomplishment, that he barely heard a thing the wrestling coach barked at him as he held him away from Ace. It was only until he ended with an, "Okay?!" that he finally responded with a nod of his head and a "yes sir."

"Christian."

Christian spun around only to meet up with the principal of Herold High School.

"You'll be the first one I'll be conversating with in my office today," the principal said, keeping a straight face.

He walked towards the double doors of the high school, beckoning him to follow. Christian got up slowly, taking deep breaths. It wasn't as if he had a choice, and he wasn't exactly much of a rebel or a back talker (unless the person was being VERY annoying.) He managed to ignore the eyes that bore into his skin as he began to walk. As he walked towards the entrance, he heard someone's voice murmuring his name. He turned his head slightly and had the chance to lock eyes with his best friend, Alfonso. He held a worried look in his eyes, as well as a frown on his face.

Oh Alfonso! If only you'd understand..

However, Christian only gave him a small smile and reassured him with a silent, 'It's okay.'

Not wanting to be outside with everyone looking at him anymore, he heaved a calm breath and headed straight into the entrance of the high school with his head held high.

Hey, guys, I hope you all enjoyed the first chapter of my new book! This is a book I actually have goals for, and a book I hope will intrigue quite a bit of readers over time. The first couple of chapters are sometimes the most challenging, and I think this past week proved that for me, but nonetheless, I'm satisfied with how this turned out! Thanks to those in the P.Ms and comments who have encouraged me a lot to continue writing, especially this book! It means a whole lot and I plan to becoming a VERY good writer one day. Thanks for your feed back and your compliments, they truly encourage me, and I hope to hear from you guys soon!

Something that I want to hear from you guys, but this isn't mandatory at all! :3

What do you think about Christian? What do you think are his strengths, his weaknesses, his areas of improvement, etc?

Do you feel like what he did could be justified/was the right thing to do, or do you think he could have taken a different turn and still made a huge impact?

What will the principal say about this? Will he be compassionate towards him? Will he be extremely rough? Will he punish Christian or possibly let it slide?

┕━━━━ ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ━━━━┙

Once again, thanks for your time, and I hope to upload my second chapter soon!
