I shifted silently through the huge forest I was in. Despite the dark half moon night my red tinted vision allowed me to see every blade of grass and leaf on the tree as if it were just daytime. The soft wind gently blew some of my shoulder long dark brown hair behind me.

I smelt the hair a little as a bunch of scents invaded my nose. I could easily identify each and every scent because of how many times I have smelt them. I considered my options for a moment. A rabbit would be fine for tonight, i didn't really feel the need to hunt for something larger.

I darted silently through the trees as I followed the rabbits scent. As I ran I passed a small pond and caught a quick glimpse of shadowy figure with glowing red eyes in the reflection. A sight like this would have any of the remaining humans shaking in fear. That was, however, if they even saw me.

The scent of the rabbit was getting closer and I knew I was near it. I slowed down as I neared it and looked at my prey. The rabbit was just ahead of me as it napped under a small bush. It was sleeping and if I had my way, it wasn't going to wake up.

I returned to my little cabin since the sun would be rising very shortly and I probably wouldn't need to get some more food. Even if I hadn't known exactly where I was, I could have easily followed the smell of wood smoke back. This cabin had probably been a small hunting lodge at one time. There was one queen sized bed in one corner, a small kitchen, a wood stove and a chair. It was small of course, but more than enough for one woman.

The rabbit I had caught would hold me for a day or two before I would have to hunt again, unless I needed some more stuff for trading. I opened up an airtight container in my kitchen pantry and took out a dehydrated apple slice. I munched slowly on it as I cleaned up a bit.

I peeked out the window blinds. The sky was just starting to get light. I went outside and considered my options. There wasn't much to do here and some of my supplies were starting to get a bit low. I decided to head to the nearest road that I knew some traders would pass today and quickly gathered some animal skins and other things I could trade before putting it all into my backpack and going outside.

I ran in the forest alongside the road. If any humans passed then I would either see or hear them first and that way I could also avoid other zombies. Besides, if other zombies saw me running, they would try to follow thinking I was chasing something and that would be annoying.

I ran for about three more hours until I heard a vehicle approaching from the road. I stopped and walked a little bit out of the forest as I waited for them to arrive. After about two minutes I saw the vehicle approaching and quickly waved my hand so they could see me. The dust that they were making from the car made me cough a little as it invaded my lungs and I waved my hand to get the dust out of my face.

The car they were riding on slowed to a stop and I noticed some of the people on it looking at me in suspicion and surprise. I guess they would be considering it was unusual for a person to be out here all alone.

"What do you want?" A gruff voice asked from the drivers seat and I looked and saw a man glaring at me. He looked to be in his fifty's but who am I to think that.

"I was wondering if you wanted to trade some stuff?" I asked the man and saw his eyebrows raise in surprise.

"Trade?" He asked, clearly surprised.

I nodded my head. "Yeah, I have some stuff in my backpack that I don't really need and I usually trade stuff to get rid of it" I explained and the man nodded.
