EC: Thank You.

MT: Congratulations again on winning in the Millennial Awards last year. We'd like to ask you a few questions about you and your story Dead To YOU. The title sounds a bit scary too! 😬

EC: Don't worry. It's not that frightening as it sounds unless you're scared of the zombie apocalypse! 😈 And isn't this the Horror section?

MT: Yes it is. Okay, we'll try to be brave. (the ladies are all shivering by now) So let us start, shall we?

Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?

EC: Hi! My name is Loïc, I consider myself ambivert and a horror fanatic. My pronouns are He/Him and I am gay.

MT: Nice to meet you! (Shakes hands) So, what do you do when you aren't writing?

EC: I watch YouTube videos or horror movies. Play video games such as Dead by Daylight or the Sims I also listen to music, I'm into K-Pop right, so call me a Blink.

MT: We are not quite familiar with that, but we researched it on the Web. Is this what it is about?

EC: Oh, yes! Thank you for finding that image. I'm quite a fan!

MT: It was our pleasure! So, how many books have you written?

EC: Two short stories on another platform and this one, a long story, on Wattpad.

MT: What is the inspiration behind the title of your book?

EC: A Melanie Martinez's song titled Dead to Me. I thought it represented well the zombie and death aspect while making a reference to a song related to love. Hence it fits my Horror Romance story.

MT: How did you choose the genre that you write in?

EC: Horror has always been something I loved. I'm intrigued and fascinated by the paranormal and the dark side. Halloween is my favorite holiday by the way.

MT: Is there any particular book or author that influenced you in any way either as a child or an adult?

EC: A Streetcar named Desire and Annihilation in terms of book. I was inspired by video games too, such as Left 4 Dead, or the Walking Dead Telltale.

MT: What has been the toughest criticism given to you as an author & what has been the best compliment?

EC: Someone told me that my writing was mediocre because I disagreed with their advice, haha. For me, the best compliment is faithfulness to my story. Genuine compliments are the best, so I have to give a shoutout to @AHalf-BloodPrincess from Wattpad for being my most faithful reader.

MT: We're glad you kept on writing no matter how negative comments can get.  Compliments are always the best ones to have as they inspire us. Do you have any advice for aspiring writers/authors?

EC: Focus on yourself and ignore the others. Motivation plays a huge part too, try to avoid procrastinating too. Writing the story in advance or at least ten chapters is a good idea too.

MT: Good Ideas! And last but not least, is there anything that you'd like to say to your readers and fans?

EC: Thanks a lot for sticking with me and my story! I feel blessed to have people reviving my story and reading about my world.
