Chapter 23
The party was awesome.
After Isaac and I made up we went back downstairs and joined everyone else. They all sang to me and gave me presents (which I did NOT expect), and of course we ate cake and ice cream. Isaac surprised me once again towards the end of the party by hooking up his laptop to the giant flat screen TV in the family room and skyping Brittany and Danny.
After it was almost past midnight we moved the party outside and we all went swimming and had a bonfire. Once everyone deemed that they were tired Isaac and I went up to my room and watched a movie because I was way too hyper to sleep.
"Thank you for everything." I whispered with my head on his chest.
"Thanks for being my girlfriend." He chuckled and I felt his abs ripple.
"I didn't really have a choice, I mean, you did sing and all."
"Yeah sorry about killing your ears, I figured if I couldn't convince you I would threaten you with my voice and guitar playing ability."
"You're an amazing singer." I said with full sincerity.
"And you're an amazing girlfriend even though you lie to me about my singing abilities." I swatted him in the chest playfully and he grabbed me and rolled around to where he was on top of me.
"What are you doing?"
"Kissing you." He bent down and pressed his lips to mine. Whenever I kissed Isaac I felt like the whole world was right, I felt so powerful and loved.
"I love you." I breathed. Isaac let out a groan as my hands went up his shirt and pressed onto his chest.
"I love you too." I slipped his shirt off of him and wrapped my legs around his torso and pulled myself upwards. Isaac used one hand to hold my waist and the other bracing the bed. He dropped me back onto the bed and starting kissing my collarbone and sucking so hard I let out a loud groan to where Isaac stopped. He continued peppering kisses down my chest though until he reached the top hem of my shirt. His hands went up my shirt and I felt him hesitate. I gripped his hand to let him know it was okay and he gently lifted my shirt above my head.
He just stared at my bra clad chest for a long time and I started to freak out.
"What?" What if he didn't like my body or the way I looked or-
"You're so beautiful." Isaac bent down and kissed me again with a new found passion and I moaned as his hands traveled all around my now exposed waistline and torso and I felt myself wanting more, but we couldn't go all the way, not yet.
He stopped kissing just a second so I took advantage of the situation and sat up a little bit. I lightly bit down on his collarbone in the same spot he had just given me a hickey a couple minutes ago. He groaned so loudly I thought someone was for sure going to come but no one did. His hand tightened around my waist and he gripped the bedsheets in his fist.
"Don't do that." Isaac whispered in my ear huskily.
"Why?" I asked breathlessly
"Because it turns me on." He was so close to me I felt his breath against my ear and neck.
"What, you mean this?" I sat up and lightly bit him in the same spot and he groaned again.
"That's it. I warned you." His hand loosened on my waist and then I felt his fingers dancing around my stomach.
"AHH! STOP IT!" I yelled as my giggles filled the air.
"Stop what? This?" He continued to tickle me and I felt tears run down my face because I was laughing so hard and my ribs began to hurt. My whole stomach was aching by the time I yelled,
"Alright, alright. ALRIGHT! I SURRENDER!" Isaac laughed as he pulled me up and then flipped us around to where I was laying on top of him.
"I warned you."
"We're not friends." I pouted.
"So does that mean we're breaking up?"
"Yes."
He made a mock gesture of surspise, "Oh no! How could I ever make it up to you?!"
I thought for a moment. "Sing."
"Sing?"
"Yes."
"Do I have to?"
"Yes."
"Baby, baby, baby, OH!" He sounded more like a dying cat then how he usually sings.
"No! You have to sing right."
"What song?"
"I don't know, surprise me."
He thought for a moment and the took a deep breath. "Oh your eyes, your eyes
Make the stars look like they're not shining
Your hair, your hair
Falls perfectly without you trying
You're so beautiful
And I'm going to tell you every day." He continued the song and I felt the tears build up in my eyes once again. When he was finished I wrapped my arms around his neck and pecked his lips.
"So are you my girlfriend again?"
"You have to ask."
"Abigail Grace Taylor, will you be my girlfriend?"
"Yes, Isaac Ryan Crawford, I will be your girlfriend." He kissed me on the lips one more time before we turned off the light and got into bed. I fell asleep in Isaac's arms.
~°~°~°~°~°~
"Goodmorning sunshine." Someone whispered in my ear.
"Goodmorning." I yawned as I saw Isaac laying over me.
"Rise and shine."
"What time is it?" I asked seeing that it was still dark out.
"About 4 a.m."
"And why are you waking me up at four o'clock in the morning?"
"No time for questions, hurry up and get ready. Pack a days worth of clothes and wear something comfy, you can sleep on the way since it's going to be a long ride."
"What? Where are we going?"
"I said no time for questions." He looked ecstatic as he rushed around my room and threw a small bag at me. "Hurry up!"
"Alright, alright. I'm going." I slipped on a shirt and then put a bunch of random clothes into the bag and then went to brush my hair.
"No time!" Isaac yelled as he took the brush out of my hands and shoved it in my bag.
"What do you mean no time?"
"I said no questions." He threw my flip flops at me.
"Ow! Isaac!"
"C'mon! We're going to be late!"
"Isaac!"
"What?!"
"Stop!" He came over to me and wrapped his free arm around my waist and pulled me close to him. He pressed his lips to mine for a couple seconds and then pulled away.
"I love you."
"Well I love you too but can you please tell me what this is all about?"
He pecked my lips quickly before lacing his finger with mine and then we were walking down the hallways towards the stairs. "Everything will make sense soon."
We both grabbed an apple and then piled all of our stuff into Isaac's car.
"Feel free to sleep but it won't be that long of a drive."
"I thought you said it was going to be a long drive?"
"I said it was going to be a long ride."
"Why are you being so elusive?"
"Why are you being so nosy?"
"I am not!"
"Go to sleep, you're cranky when you're tired."
"Well I'm about to-" Isaac cut me off by pressing a finger to my lips at a red light.
"Hush child."
"Oh you did not just tell me to hush." I moved his hand away and he turned back to the road and started driving again.
"I actually did."
"Well you're going to permanently hush when I smack your lips off."
He cast me a wary glance. "So violent."
"You're the one who woke me up at 4 a.m."
"Well I thought of this idea after you fell asleep so I called my dad and he set everything up but the only time we could do it was at 5 a.m."
I sighed because he obviously wasn't going to explain himself anymore than that so I just leaned my head up against the back of my seat and closed my eyes listening to the soft music on the radio playing.
When I woke up Isaac was standing next to me with the car door open.
"Rise and shine beautiful." He kissed my cheek and then reached his hand down to me and helped me out of the car.
He already had the bags out on a luggage carrier.
"Where are we?" I asked through a yawn
"Croyton Airport."
"Why are we at an airport?"
"We're going somewhere silly." I was obviously very tired because I took that as a good answer and didn't ask anymore questions.
"Isaac Crawford." He said to the lady at the desk, giving her his ID. She handed him two tickets and then we walked off through to the luggage and security check.
Once we were boarded on the plane I pushed the armrests between out seats down and laid my head on Isaac's lap.
"Wake up, sleepy head." Isaac said softly, he was running his fingers through my still knotty hair.
"Are we there yet?" I asked tiredly
"In a couple minutes we'll be landing so almost." I sat up and rested my head on his shoulder.
"Why are we going wherever we're going?"
"Because I've always wanted to come here and I figured now would be the best time and it makes it even more great because you're going to be here with me." He kissed the top of my head gently. "That and I just love you."
"Well I just love you too." I smiled. The pilot came on through the intercom and announced we'd be landing in about five minutes.
About ten minutes later we were off of the plane and in a different airport where I knew what absolutely nothing said.
"It's French." Isaac whispered in my ear
"French?" I asked confusedly
"Yes French."
"Are we in Canada?"
"Canada?!"
"Yes, Canada, don't some places there speak French?"
"Why when I tell you it's French you automatically assume we're in Canada?" Isaac was hysterically laughing.
"Wait, so we're not in Canada?"
Isaac stood back up straighter and then wiped tears from his eyes. "No baby, we're not in Canada."
Wait what?
"Did you just call me-" He cut me off by kissing my lip lightly
"Yes, yes I did. Do you like it?" I felt butterflies erupt in my stomach as he slipped his arm around my waist.
"I love it." I stood up on my tippy toes and kissed his cheek.
"Good and we're in France by the way."
"Oh! That makes more sense. Wait why are we in France?"
"I told you, because I've always wanted to come here and being with you would make it a lot better. That and I just love you."
"I vaguely remember that conversation from the plane."
"You were tired."
"I was tired, I still am."
"Well the drive to my friend's house takes awhile so you can probably sleep on the way."
"Your friend's house?"
"Yeah, he said we can stay there with him and his roommate, unless you don't want to."
"No, I do. It's fine." I kissed his cheek again before he let go of my waist and we grabbed our bags from the luggage thing.
"What's his name?" I asked as we were waiting outside by the pickup line.
"Shawn."
"How do you know him?"
"We talked online for a really long time and then he came to England and we hung out practically all summer last year, he's really cool."
"So did you call him after you called your dad at 3 o'clock in the morning?"
"Well it wasn't 3 o'clock in the morning for him, but yes."
"What time was it for him?"
"I have no idea." He started laughing and then pointed to a silver car. "That's him I think." He grabbed my hand and led me over to the car just as a guy looking about our age with dark brown hair got out.
"Shawn!"
"Isaac!" The did that weird guy hug and it made it even more weird because Isaac didn't let go of my hand.
"This is my girlfriend, Abby."
"Oh you mean the absolutely gorgeous girl you never stop talking about?" He has a heavy French accent. Isaac gave him a look and he immediately started laughing as I blushed profusely.
"Well you were right my friend. Welcome to France my dear." He took my free hand gently in his and kissed the back of it, which made me blush even more.
"Thank you." Isaac looked between us and Shawn and I started laughing again.
"Hey no flirting with my girlfriend." Isaac said and I couldn't tell if he was kidding or not.
Shawn raised his hands in mock defense. "Just trying to be a gentleman. Here let me take your bags." He only took mine though and Isaac's face went red as I realized that Shawn was now doing it on purpose.
"Well come on." He motioned towards the trunk of his car for Isaac to put his bags in. Isaac rolled his eyes.
"My lady." He opened the passenger side door for me and then got into the driver's seat.
"Wow."
"Calm down there, I have a girlfriend of my own." Shawn said into the rearview mirror.
"Really? When did this happen?"
"A couple days ago, I would've told you on the phone this morning but you seemed way too excited already."
"Will we get to meet her?" I asked Shawn
"Yeah, I actually think she'll already be at the house when we get there."
"How long will it be?" I yawned realizing that I was tired still.
"A little over an hour."
"Alright." I leaned my head back and closed my eyes.
I didn't really sleep, just watch the scenery turn from a city to country and sooner than later we were pulling up to a rather old-looking brick house.
"Welcome to my home." Shawn opened my door for me and helped me out.
"Is Demetry here?"
"Yeah, he was sleeping when I left though. Actually he probably doesn't even know you guys are coming." He turned his head to the side and looked at one of the cars. "Oh and Rachel is here too."
"Shawn est que vous?" I feminine voice called from the house.
"Oui je juste pris mes amis de l'aéroport de yhe." He called back. Isaac came around the car and grabbed my hand, we walked to the house together and saw a beautifu girl with bright ginger hair and freckles.
Shawn went and kissed her lips lightly. "Isaac, Abby, this is my girlfriend Rachel."
"Bonjour."
"They don't speak French."
"Well hello then, I will have to apologize in advance because my English is not very good." She had an even heavier accent then Shawn.
"Well let's go inside and we can eat some breakfast."
~°~°~°~°~°~
Once we had eaten and Isaac and I settled in our room, yes I said our room, as in both of us in the same room in the same bed, we decided to just hang out alone for a little while.
"Thank you for all of this." I said sitting on his lap and straddling him on the couch.
"Your welcome, have you ever been to France?"
"Nope." I said popping the "p."
"Well there's a fist time for everything."
"Like finding the perfect boyfriend?"
"Or the perfect girlfriend." He grinned at me and kissed the tip of my nose.
"I don't know about that." I said smiling
"Well that's okay because I believe it with all my heart. I love you so much Abby so don't you ever downgrade yourself."
"Thank you." I leaned forward and laid my head on his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around my back and we just sat there for a long time.
I fell asleep after a couple minutes and only woke up because Isaac had stood up and was carrying me to the bed.
"What are you doing?"
"I figured this would be more comfortable." He whispered as he laid me on the bed and then climbed over me. I felt him moving around behind me and then finally his hand went around my waist. I turned toward him and saw that he had taken his shirt off.
"Take a picture, it lasts longer." Isaac whispered
"I don't have to take a picture because you'll always be here." I hadn't realized what I said until it was too late. "I-I mean, um-" He cut me off by kissing my lips softly.
"It's completely okay because I will always be here."
"Do you really mean that?"
"With all of my heart."
"Do you think we can make it that long? I mean, until we can actually get together?"
"I think so, if we work hard enough."
"I love you so much." I kissed his lips lightly before laying my head on his bare chest.
I laid there for a long time, not really that tired anymore, just running my fingers on the creases in Isaac's abdomen.
Could we really get married someday? I have no idea how this works but I do know that it usually takes longer than a couple of weeks to love someone so much that you're willing to spend the rest of your life with them.
I mean, I did love Isaac that much, I just didn't know if he loved me that much.
It's hard to love someone like me, because everyone I've ever loved has been hurt. I don't want anyone to hurt me anymore, and I don't want me to hurt anyone else.
My phone started buzzing next to me, I sighed and quickly grabbed it so it didn't wake Isaac up.
"Hello?"
"Abby?"
"Alex?"
"Where are you?"
"What do you mean where am I?"
"I mean where are you?" He sounded really annoyed yet relieved.
"I'm in France, why?"
"Why are you in France?!"
"Because Isaac- wait a second, does Paul know where I am?"
"No!"
I smacked Isaac's back and he shot up.
"What?! What's wrong?!"
"You dimwit! You didn't tell anyone we were leaving!"
"I told my dad- oh."
"Yeah oh, everyone is looking for me!"
"I'm sorry!" He had a smirk on his face so I smacked him again.
"Ow!"
"I'm sorry Alex, this is all Isaac's fault, not mine." I went into the story about why we were in France and every so often I would pause and Alex would relay the message to whoever he was talking to.
"Well then have fun I guess." Alex laughed into the phone.
"Thanks, sorry about Isaac's lack of common sense."
"It's okay, you get used to it."
"Hey!" I had put the phone on speakerphone so Isaac heard that.
"Alright, bye Alex."
"Bye Abby." The line clicked dead and Isaac stared at me for a couple seconds before bursting out laughing.
"What?"
"That was so stupid."
"What was?"
"What I did."
"Stupid is a good word for it."
"I'm sorry." He put his hand on my waist.
"I guess it's okay."
"I have a surprise for you tonight."
"What is it?"
"You should know me enough now to know I'm not going to tell you."
"Well is it a date?"
"It is."
"What time is it?"
"I have no clue."
"Well I'm hungry."
"Let's go ask Shawn."
It turns out that it was about noon so Shawn, Rachel, Isaac, and I went to a small shop in the city and got something to eat.
France was absolutely beautiful, the small town by where Shawn and Rachel lived was so quiet and homey. The streets were cobbled and flowers were blooming on almost every windowsill. There was a slight breeze that helped with the hot sun and I was glad that some of the few clothes I threw into a bag were sundresses.
Isaac and I walked hand in hand down the streets and all four of us decided to stop at an ice cream shop.
At around 3 o'clock Rachel and I asked the guys if we could go off and do some shopping and they said they didn't mind.
So Rachel and I went off and bought a bunch of stuff, including an outfit for mine and Isaac's date tonight which she knew all about, and all sorts of things. Rachel was really nice and throughout the day I helped her with some English and she taught me simple French sayings.
"I really do love your accent."
"You love my accent?"
"Yes, I have never spent this much time with an American, but it also sounds a little bit like an English person such as Isaac."
"Well I've been living in England for a couple months now."
"Shawn and I will have to come and visit you and your family sometime."
"That would be great, I bet everyone would love you guys."
"How long are you staying in France?"
"I have no idea." We both laughed. "I'm guessing no more than a couple of days though."
"Well during this time that you are spending with us, we should go deeper into town and you can meet my family."
"That would be amazing. Do they speak English too?"
"Very little, but it wouldn't be too hard to communicate with them. I could help you."
"Thank you, I'd love to meet them."
"I think that they would enjoy you also."
~°~°~°~°~°~
At around six Isaac called from downstairs that he was ready to go.
Rachel had helped me get ready and it turns out that she's really good at this kind of stuff.
She curled my hair loosely and left it hanging around my shoulders. She put on light makeup and helped me slip into the dress we had bought earlier.
"He'll love it."
"Thank you." She gave me a tight hug before I walked downstairs.
"Wow." Isaac breathed. Shawn was standing next to him and he also looked shocked. "You look beautiful."
"Thank you." I put my arm through the crook of his elbow and we walked out.
Isaac wasn't used to driving in France and I didn't have my license so he had called for a cab, much to Shawn and Rachel's arguing.
Isaac must've already talked to the driver because as soon as we were situated he started driving.
We drove for a long time into the city before the cab driver finally stopped.
Isaac came around to my side and opened my door for me. He lightly took my hand and helped me out.
"Where are we?"
"Paris."
"Paris?"
"Yup. I know it's kind of a cliche date, but I figured we might enjoy ourselves."
"This is definitely not cliche." I stood on my tippy toes and kissed his lips lightly.
We started walking down the street hand in hand. The sun was still up but the streets were lined with lights to where it seemed it like it was night.
Isaac led us to a huge building where we walked up to the front of the line. He said something in French to the man and then we were led to a small table in the back.
"I thought you couldn't speak French?" I asked Isaac when we had sat down.
"Shawn and I practiced me saying that one line for as long as it took to be engraved in my head."
"Oh wow. What did you even say?"
"Table for two, reservation for Crawford."
"So fancy."
"I know right." We both started laughing and a waitress came and, luckily, took our order in English.
After we ate a lot of fancy and probably very expensive food we set off down the street once again.
"Where are we going now?"
"You'll see soon." I did see after a couple of minutes because as we rounded a corner a beautiful structure I had only seen in pictures loomed before us.
"We're going to the Eiffle Tower?" I gasped
"To the top."
I was extremely giddy as we went up the elevator to the top and I almost didn't make it to the edge without exploding with happiness.
There was barely anyone up here so I put my hands out to the sides and laughed out loud.
"This is amazing!" I yelled
Isaac came up behind me and put his hands on my waist.
"The view is amazing." I told him in awe. Up here I could see what I guessed was the whole city lit up in sparkling colors.
"It is." He came closer and I felt him set his chin on my shoulder. "I love you." He whispered in my ear and then kissed my cheek.
I turned around in his grasp and kissed him, "I love you too."
