Iris was walking towards Lucy's house along with Ella. Her mind was still thinking about the events of last night.

Last night, when her Aunt came back home safely and lied about how the police helped her, Victoria became suspicious. She knew better than to trust the police, who were all bribed and basically owned by The Mercurials. She started questioning Iris as soon as she came back, persistently trying to get answers out of her. But Iris didn't tell her anything. She lied about how Ella has an uncle who is a detective at a higher post and helped them. Victoria pretended to accept that explanation but deep down she knew something was wrong. She had known that her daughter would one day or another get stuck into a mess, she only hoped that her little girl wouldn't get hurt.

"I can't believe you're joining us. You will be a trainee in the training program."

Ella beamed with excitement

"Trainee?"

Iris raised her brow, she didn't ask about the process of joining because she didn't care much about it

"Yes, trainee. All the newest members get training on how to fight, how to handle situations, even how to talk politely to customers."

Ella explained,

"I see...."

Iris gave a short respond. She did not know what to think much about it since she already knew those things.

Soon they reached Lucy's place. The restaurant, downstairs unlike last time was open even thought it was quite early for lunch. Behind the counter was a middle age man, who looked a lot like Luke, although a bit older.

"Hey guys!"

Luke greeted them both. He was sitting in the corner with Logan who was using a laptop. As Ella and Iris made their way towards them, soon Lucy came downstairs.

"Hey brother, did you buy those things I told you about yesterday?"

Ella and Iris blinked with surprise at the scene in front of them in which Lucy just called the guy behind the counter as brother.

The man in question turned towards Luke and responded in a gruff voice,

"I asked him to take care of it."

"Dad, I was busy so I forgot. I'll buy them today."

Luke chuckled nervously. He felt two pair of eyes go round with confusion and shock.

"Why are you both so surprised? Luke is Lucy's nephew and that man over there, is his father and her elder brother."

Logan, the one who was silent all this time, and the only one who seemed unaffected by this sudden revelation, calmly addressed the two surprised girls

"Wow...."

"I did not see that coming."

"See that they all have the same last name, Hill?"

Logan retorted sarcastically

"Lucy is my Aunt"

Luke grinned but he got smacked by Lucy from behind

"You brat, who are you calling an aunt? I have told you to call me Lucy, I am too young to be called an aunt."

Lucy scoffed, rolling her eyes. She was age conscious.

"Oh, good you two are here. Here you go, I need you to fill the form and you'll finally be a part of us. We already took care of all the necessary processes and documents, you just need to fill this form. One more thing, a three months training program is a necessary need for all new recruits. You can go with Ella over to the main office, and she will guide you through everything."

Lucy hands Iris a single, thin file with a piece of paper in it, which Iris quickly fills out.

"You forgot one thing, Lucy."

Logan spoke suddenly, startling everyone else. He did not avert his gaze from the screen, making Ella and Iris curious about what he was doing. Lucy then adds,

"Oh yeah. Try not to fight like you do. I mean, act as if you are a beginner. A starter. We don't want to draw attention to you because then they might find out your real identity. As long as you stay away from anything like that, you will be fine because they all consider a new recruit to be a piece of trash which is just used for errands."

"That's so wrong..."

Iris remarked,

"You have no idea how badly they treat us."

Ella shuddered at the thought of her experience

"I have also made arrangements due to which you are assigned to my squad. After your first class today, I will sent Luke who will bring you to our squad's office. The safe house which you saw before, is even though the official space given to us by The Mercurial, but like I said, we are not with them, we are at the good side. That's why the place where we will meet isn't known by The Mercurial."

Lucy explained

"That's actually really smart. I understand. I will try to be careful."

Iris hands the form back to Lucy after filling it, but she shakes her head and does not grab it

"Give it at the front desk when you go there."

"Oh can I go with them? I haven't been to the centre for a while now."

Luke offered, but Lucy glares at him in return

"No. You go and buy me those things I asked you to."

"Come on, you already bought two strawberry ice creams yesterday. How much more do you want? Also just go buy it yourself."

Luke groaned. His aunt, an ice cream lover, an extreme one, replied looking down,

"....I want to but I can't. I don't want them to think I am crazy after I bought two of them yesterday and now I want to buy more."

"The person behind the counter changes due to the shifts. And if that doesn't work, then go to some other shop."

Luke rolled his eyes. He will never understand her weird logics.

"I checked that and since the part-timer is at some holiday, there will be no shifts. Also, they have the best strawberry ice cream! How could I go to someplace else? That'll be like cheating!"

Lucy gasped, acting dramatic

"Fine, don't be so dramatic. I'll buy you your damn ice cream."

Luke got up, while Lucy smiled in return, her voice had turned sweet,

"Aren't you just the best adorable little nephew!"

She pats his head, which Luke smacks away

"Yeah yeah. Flattery won't get you anywhere. Make me those delicious muffins in return."

"You got it."

Lucy winked in return, while Luke wore his jacket and left

A moment later, Logan shuts the laptop down, and gets up to leave without taking the laptop with him.

"I'll be leaving as well."

"Wait, you don't want your laptop?"

Iris stopped him, who turned back and replied

"No, that's not mine. That's Lucy's. We are watching him."

"Oh, you already started doing that."

Iris retorted, she didn't think that they all will be so quick to do things

"Yeah, you will join us too after your first training session. It's only for two hours."

Lucy stated, Logan waved and was about to leave when Ella stopped him

"Wait! You came in your car, right?"

Logan nodded, without saying anything

"So can you please drop us to the centre on the way to wherever you are going?"

Ella requested. The centre was in the main part of the city and far away from where they were now. Ella was in no mood to ride the bus and walk.

"I don't mind."

He shrugged, moving his car keys around his finger

"Great, I call shotgun!"

Ella beamed, following Logan, dragging Iris with her who waved at Lucy
