"Are you sure this is a good idea?"

Luke whispered at Lucy, who was standing next to him. Both had their arms up in the air while they were being checked by two guards to see if they have any secret weapon. Earlier, they had been told to put all their weapons and personal belongings in a tray and will be given to them when they are about to leave.

"Talking to him is the best option because Duncan loves to make deals and I think we can make a pretty good deal with him because if he was the informant for Frederick, then using him we can get to Nicholas."

Lucy mumbled back. They both had come to meet Duncan at his building.

"You can go now."

The other guard, standing at the side stated.

Lucy and Luke then walk inside towards a giant hall. A guide was walking in front of them and soon they were led to the top floor through a lift and into Duncan's office.

"What brings you two here?"

He asked, turning his chair behind the desk to face them. He was wearing sunglasses instead of an eye-patch.

"Let me introduce ourselves first....I am..."

Lucy was interrupted by a disinterested Duncan who holds his hand in the air to stop Lucy from continuing.

"I know who you two are. You are Lucy and that is your nephew Luke, both are from The Mercurial. Now tell me, what is it that you want? Did the board members sent you or maybe it was the chairman?" He added.

"Neither....we are here on an unofficial business."

Lucy responded, holding her head high.

"Is that so? Interesting. Go on, I'm listening."

Duncan smirks, moving forward, intertwining his fingers together and putting his hands on the table.

At that moment, before Lucy could even continue, a fire alarm goes off. Water sprinkles down on all of them from the top.

Duncan gets up and fiercely calls,

"Marcus! What the hell is going on?"

Marcus, comes inside panting. He takes a deep breath to calm himself down.

"There are little fires on the ground, third, fourth and fifth floor. The problem is that the smoke is so much from the fire that we can't see properly even the cameras aren't of use."

"Take little squad teams with you and check those area out. It seems we have an....intruder..."

He commands, saying the last word while gazing at Lucy.

"It's not us. We came here for a peace pact, we wouldn't do this."

Lucy defends themselves before he could even point fingers

"I never said it was you. Those are your words not mine. I'm sorry but Miss Hill you must take your leave now. If your proposition is important for both of us then contact me later on."

He starts walking out of his office without waiting for Lucy's response.

"Let's go then..."

Luke said but his Aunt didn't budge.

"What's wrong? We should leave. We don't want to get caught up between whoever it is that's trying to get on the eye patch's bad side..."

"Nope. We are not going anywhere. This is actually perfect. Duncan hates owing people because he is a firm believer of repaying them back. We help him find whoever it is, and then we ask him for information."

Lucy gives a devilish smirk, "Let's go. We will first get our weapons and then instead of leaving we will go to the second floor."

"Why the second floor? The fires are elsewhere."

Luke questions, following Lucy.

"Idiot, those fires are obviously distractions. Who would fall for them?"

Lucy rolled her eyes, as they both sneak to get their weapons.

"Are you sure Iris is in there alone?"

Ella looks at Logan and then at the huge building in front of them

"Yup, positive. Now, come on. We don't want to get caught...."

He whispered, both hiding at the corner as they watch four to five guards pass them, rushing up the stairs.

"What's going on? I think there is a fire."

Ella muttered after seeing all the hustle and bustle including the fire alarm.

"It is a fire alright, but it means Iris is already here....."

One of the guard turns towards them. Logan puts a hand over his mouth, and then quietly knocks him out.

"How is the fire related to Iris?"

Ella asked, while Logan knocks out another guard

"Its a distraction.....we need to go to where the fire is...."

He said pushing one of the guards towards her

"You just said the fire is a distraction...."

Ella drags the guard with her to the empty room next to her. Their plan was to change their clothes into the guards one to blend in.

"It is. But an obvious one. Any non idiot person would go to where there is no fire, that's exactly why Iris is where there is fire."

Logan explained, Ella nods trying to understand the logic.

"How do we even get to the second floor? There are so many people....and it looks like they are all packing and leaving.....this is so weird...."

Luke whispered. He and Lucy were still on the ground floor, hiding in one of the empty rooms. Luke had opened the door slightly to take a peek outside.

"This is really strange....why leave after just a single fire?"

He again added, looking back at Lucy who was thinking of a plan

"This is his style. Duncan is known for changing locations quite often. If even a single one of his enemy attacks his place, he leaves quickly. What's worse is that he destroys his previous place completely....burns them down..."

Lucy explained

"Does that mean, they will burn this building down soon?"

Luke inquired, Lucy nods slightly, "I think so...."

Iris who was hiding at the ground floor, was waiting for one of the huge squads to clear out so she can go after Duncan. Yes, Duncan....she did all of this secretly to fix her mistake, which is why she didn't want to drag anyone else into the mess she created. She met Duncan about two to three years ago. Last night, she had taken the laptop home to track him. She had planned all this while staying awake. She wore a black without sleeves short shirt, with white pants where she could put her knife and pistol. Her hair was in a french braid.

Right now, she was hiding behind a table in the corridor, after fighting about ten of these guys. She needed just a single opening, to go after Duncan whom she saw go upstairs towards the fifth floor where there was a bridge connecting the tower. She knew he was trying to run away and she wasn't going to let that happen.

She heard footsteps approaching, from the sound of them it seemed there were seven to eight guys. Shit. She thought looking at her pistol with only four bullets. She triggered her gun, waiting to shoot.

Suddenly, she hears a lot of commotion. She wants to take a peek to check but she doesn't want them to know that she's hiding here.

A guard appears in front of her at once, she is about to shoot when a hand from behind strangles and cracks the guy's head.

Her eyes go round when she sees Logan standing there, fixing his cap. Ella soon comes as well.

"What the hell are you guys doing here?"

She hissed in a low voice, getting up

"What the hell are we doing? What the hell are you doing here? Do you have a death wish?"

Logan sneered, glaring at her

"Guys, we can argue later on...let's hide somewhere for now because more of them are coming.....Oh wait....Iris! You're bleeding...."

Ella points at Iris's forehead, where blood was dripping at one side. Iris checks the wound by putting her hand there....and looks at the blood now on her fingers.

"You okay?"

Logan asks. Iris nods slightly in reply.

"We can check that later on...first let's go....we passed by a room when coming here, I think it's empty...we can go there for now..."

Logan states. They all then quickly run as fast as they can towards the opposite side of the alley, and open the door and go inside.

When they go inside, someone hits Logan and Ella on their head and they turn to find Luke and Lucy there.

"What the hell, Luke!"

Ella angrily said

"What are you guys doing here?"

Lucy asked, surprised.

"Wait...you are responsible for the fire, aren't you?"

"We followed Iris here who needs to do some explaining."

Logan kept glaring at her

"Look, I am sorry and I promise to explain to you guys everything but right now, there is no time. The building is gonna collapse and Duncan is going to get away. The only thing I can tell you is that, he has something very important that I need which he took from me...so please..."

Iris explained, her eyes were glossy. She was biting her lip.

"Okay, then let's get to it. We will help you get to him but you better have a pretty darn good explanation for it....."

Lucy sighs, gnashing her teeth
