Head of the Royal Guard

Ar's P.O.V
As I turned the corner, I heard something being thrown.

I turned around, only to see that my umbrella had opened up; it had stopped something. I didn't see what it was but blue particles hit the floor.

I looked at what opened my umbrella and held it. There was a vine wrapped around it.

"Thanks, for once." I said and took the umbrella from Flowey. Closing it, I see a figure towering over me.

It's an armored monster. I can't tell what species they are.

There's long, red hair coming from the top of their helmet so either it's a girl or a boy with really long hair. I could see a glowing dot on the right side of the helmet's eye socket.

They looked down at me and I up at them.

The only sound in the air belonged to the flowing water of the stream nearby.

The armored monster then summoned a glowing blue lance and held it. That must have been what they threw at me.

I looked at my umbrella in shock and opened it. How was this not destroyed?!

"You're going to run." Flowey whispered in my ear and I looked up at the armored figure. Suddenly, the armored monster moved and brought the lance down at me.

I put my umbrella up against it and the lance shattered once again.

I jump back in shock as the figure seemed to growl at me. I chuckle nervously and bolt out of there.

As I run, I hear heavy armored footsteps close behind me. "Okay! You seem to know everyone here, who's that?!" I shouted to Flowey as I jumped over small puddles of water.

"That, is Undyne. Head of the royal guard." Flowey explained. I rolled my eyes. "Just my luck." I muttered and dashed into another room.

I skidded to a halt since there was a small cliff. I looked down. There was more ground but I would definitely break an ankle if I jump.

"Well, accept death." Flowey said. I raised my eyebrow and then I looked at my umbrella. "You seem durable in the underground...let's hope it likes air." I said, stepping back and closing the umbrella, the armored footsteps getting louder.

Flowey looked at me confused. "Wait, air?" He asked. I grinned and began to run. "We're going airborne!" I announced, freaking the flower out.

I laughed at Flowey's screeching and jumped once I made it to the edge. Immediately, I opened up my umbrella and I managed to catch a gust of with to carry me in the air.

Flowey opened his eyes and looked around. "How did you know it was going to work?" He asked.

I smiled to myself. "I didn't." I replied. He looked at me with a shocked face. "You.. WHAT?!" He shouted.

I began to laugh at him. "Haha—Hey!" I exclaimed. The vines around my wrist suddenly grew little red spikes.

The flower seemed to have a satisfied look to his face. When we landed, I closed my umbrella. It seemed to be some sort of dump?

"Perfect, you're home." Flowey said. I rolled my eyes. "Oh shush, we're alive aren't we?" I replied, putting the umbrella on my back.

Flowey's vines gripped it and kept it in place. As I took a step in the water, I saw a shadow loom over the cliff.

Luckily, I hadn't stepped out of the shadow it was creating so, as quietly as possible, I hurried over to the corner.

The armored monster looked around before it decided to jump down.

I put my hand over my mouth to keep myself from squeaking. The monster looked around before whipping around to see what was behind them.

I shut my eyes closed and waited for another lance to come at me but they didn't seem to say anything in response to my presence.

Now that I think about it, I can't feel the floor.

I opened my eyes and I was floating up in the corner of the cliff. Well, not floating. Hanging.

I looked up to see vines connected to the corners of the cliff and the wall. The armored monster let out a sigh and ran off.

After making sure it was enough time and distance, I let out a squeal. "What was that for?!" Flowey winced, moving back towards the ground.

I sighed and smiled. "It was to relieve stress. Thanks." I told the flower as he put me on the ground.

He shrugged. "I didn't want to die with you." admits and looks around. I rolled my eyes with a smile and lightly shook my head.

"Well, thank you for trying to preserve your life." I said, stepping over trash bags and avoiding spiky objects in the water.

"Ar?...Is that you?.." a shy voice asked, making me look away from a dummy.

"Hm? Oh! Blooky!" I exclaimed and walked over to the ghost. Flowey quickly wrapped himself around my head and his face disappeared.

"Why are you alone?.." He asked, hovering around me. "Well...I got separated from my friends. Then this crazy armored monster chased after me." I explained.

Napstablook got close to my face. "Oh no...That was Undyne..She's loud...." he said, shaking slightly.

So Undyne is a she....nice.

Napstablook then floated behind me and began pushing me towards the exit of the dump. I began to walk, understanding what he meant.

"She's still roaming....I...I have to hide you..." He said and floated in front of me. "F-Follow me to my house..." he whispered and began floating towards another cave entrance.

As I walked, I heard armored footsteps. I began to run. "HEY!" Undyne shouted, making me run faster.

Blooky had the door opened to his house and I ran inside. He floated after me and closed the door.

Before I could get a breather, there was a knock on the door "Napstablook? You home?!" Undyne shouted. He motioned at me to hide.

I silently argued with him because there was nowhere to go. As we fought, my heart dropped.

Undyne opened the door.
