Fear vs Kindness

((This the true angst Chika-chan_13
She can actually kill me IRL guys, she's in my class.))

Ar's P.O.V
I run as fast as my legs can carry me. My heart was pounding and I was scared. Why was there another me?!

She kept running to the entrance of the waterfall and I kept chasing after.

I slid to a halt when I completely lose sight of her. "Did you see where she went?" I asked Flowey. "No, she was right here!" He said.

I guess we are both confused.

Catching my breath, I begin to walk, keeping my eyes peeled for my look-a-like.

It's quiet, save for the sound of the water falling and my footsteps echoing as the noise bounces against the wall.

Flowey extends a vine in a motion to tell me to stop. As I do, we hear faint footsteps.

Looking forward, we see a dash of black run into a waterfall. I rush after it and stop in front of said waterfall.

How did she run in?

I feel Flowey glance around the cavern as I slowly step closer to the large mass of flowing water.

The sound is soothing but all it's doing is getting me more anxious than what I need to be. I slowly reach out to touch the water.

Gently dragging my arm, I cut through the rushing water but I see no one on the other side. "How did she.." I wonder out loud, retracting my hand but something grabs it and starts pulling.

Digging my boots to the ground, I resist, pulling back. It's something pink. I've seen it before.

As I step back, Flowey quickly wraps his vine around the pink appendage and grows red spikes. We heard hissing before it returns back inside the water.

I stumble back slightly, as the force pulling me was gone. "What was that?!" I ask.

I can only hear Flowey mutter to himself. "This is bad, we need to go now!" He warned. I don't bother to ask and I turn, beginning to run.

Sneaking around my waist is another pink appendage, stopping me from running.

I growl and shake my jacket free from its grasp. I reach into my pocket and take out C̶h̶a̶ra̶'s knife, slashing and stabbing, avoiding my skin.

Recoiling, the appendage seemingly shakes in pain as I fall on the ground. "It's quite perseverant.." I mutter angrily.

I stand up and immediately roll out of its way.

Flowey seemingly wrestles with it.

I move to help when all of a sudden it's hard to breathe. I grasp at my neck when I feel another appendage wrapped around it.

Stabbing it with the knife mercilessly, I try to pry it off me with my other hand.

I hear growls of pain but it won't give in. I try to gasp for air but they are short reliefs. I start feeling hot and I begin to cough.

"F-Flowey!" I call out, my grip on the knife loosening slightly.

The flower turns to look at me and his face morphs into one of shock. He uses another vine to try to pry the pink appendage from my neck.

Whatever the thing is knows we aren't strong enough to fight against it and begins pulling us back.

I try digging my heel into the ground but my vision is getting tiny black spots and I'm getting weaker by the second.

Coughing, I drop my arms to the side but refuse to let go of the weapon.

The golden flower growls and simply stops resisting.

He takes back all the vines and we're instantly pulled into the water fall.

Rolling across the ground, I try to stop myself.

I stab the knife on the ground with all my strength and I stop myself from crashing into the wall. Once I get my bearings, I cough and gasp for air. Let me just say that this wasn't a nice experience at all.

S̶t̶r̶a̶n̶g̶l̶i̶n̶g̶ i̶s̶ n̶o̶t̶ a̶ g̶o̶o̶d̶ w̶a̶y̶ t̶o̶ g̶o̶.

I want to close my eyes and let the darkness envelop me. I want to wake up in bed, tell myself it was all just a bad dream and go to Toriel and tell her about it.

This, however, is not the case as I heard footsteps approach me. I lift my head and open my eyes.

Dark brown boots and purple leggings.

I don't know who this is.

A feminine giggle fills the room. It's unnerving even when it sounds innocent.

"Hey, get up!" Flowey hisses at me. He sounds...scared. I do as he says, even when I stumble.

As I look up, I come face to face with a girl with dark brown hair and glowing pink eyes. She's wearing a purple and pink jacket and a ripped darker pink mini skirt.

She's smiling at me, all innocent like.

I'm not sure what to say when I see a figure standing behind her. It's me but when I blink, a small, floating pink sphere has taken its place. It has a face.

It's almost...cute?

"Ar! Don't you remember me?" The girl asked. I slightly step back. That voice...the one from my dream. "Are you...Betty?.." I ask, uncertain.

Her dark brown hair moves as she nods. "You remembered my name! I'm impressed!" She said.

That cheerfulness sounded so...wrong.

I glare at her slightly. If Flowey is on edge then that means she can't be good news.

"Right..well, I have some friends to get to.." I say, beginning to walk towards the waterfall behind her when I hear a slashing sound.

I stop in my tracks when I see a scythe in front of me. It's pink and almost glass looking. It seems fragile but the edge has been sharpened.

"We're not done here! Why go back to them? They're not your friends. Monsters can't be trusted!" She argued.

I keep my back to her. "The monsters I've met have been nothing but kind to me." I tell her.

An exasperated sigh escapes her mouth. "Don't you see they're pretending?! You're the very species that locked them down here in the first place! You think they're going to accept you?" Betty argued.

I frown, looking at my reflection on her scythe. "Then..what are you suggesting with all of this?" I ask.

A laugh echoes.

"I propose we kill them~" she answered.

Why did I see that coming?

She approaches me. "The world has no need for them." She rambles on and on.

I put my hands in my pockets, letting go of the knife. "Betty, that is a very interesting preposition...but I'll have to pass." I say.

The atmosphere is silent. My breath hitches in my throat.

"Well, if you say so....I guess I'll just have to take your soul." She said and I heard footsteps.

I instinctively grab my umbrella and spin around to see the pink girl dashing towards me.

Opening the umbrella, I manage to block the swing from her scythe. I'm amazed at how the fabric didn't tear once the sharp edge collided with it.

Flowey wraps a vine around a rock and pulls us away from Betty. "Are you okay?" He asked me. I move the umbrella to the side and lock eyes with Betty.

"I will be once we get out of here." I say and look at him. He nods and looks ahead. "You fend her off and I'll try to get us out." I nod.

I click the blue button and my umbrella closes. Dashing towards Betty, I take out the knife. She smiles.

Once I'm in her vicinity, she begins slashing all around. I roll and jump over attacks, trying to slash her face.

Her scythe turns back into the creature and becomes a force field once I try to hit her.

The creature resumes its scythe form and Betty starts attacking me. Taken by surprise, I drop the knife and run out of her way. She jumps and lands in front of me.

A green glow comes from in front of me as she strikes down. My soul shakes and a green, transparent shield appears. Green sparks come out as the scythe collided with the shield.

I step back as Betty traps me against a wall. I see a small crack forming. I growl but I'm sent 'flying' up as Flowey pulls me to the wall. "She's tricky." I admit. Who even was she?

"She's a mess to deal with. She's not even supposed to be here." Flowey warned.

Pink spikes are being thrown at me. I run along the rocky walls, trying not to trip. "Not supposed to? Why does that mean?" I ask.

Flowey begins swinging us across the cavern, dodging Betty's slashes. "Betty's not from this timeline. She's not even from this world..I don't know how she got here.." he warned.

Frowning, I bring my umbrella in front of me, the glimmering knife far from my reach.  "Well, it's our problem now." I say and Flowey lets go.

I fall onto Betty, umbrella first. I struggle against her weapon, gaining and loosing ground.

She looks at me intently with a grin on her face. "You seem...scared?" She asked. I growl and push back. "I'm not." I protest.

Blinking in confusion, I stare at her hair. I'm sure it was brown before...why is it...pink? She laughs and Flowey quickly pulls me aside.

"I don't like this at all.." he says. I have to admit, I don't either. We both look at the waterfall.

We have to go now.

I begin to run, passing Betty when I hear something come out of her lips.

                   " R h a b d o p h o b i a."

I felt as if my whole world came crashing down.

I hear constant ringing and my head is suddenly clouded with random thoughts.

Blinking, I see everything has changed color. The water looks yellow and the brown rocks have turned into a strange blue.

Stealing a look in my reflection, I see that it's also differently colored. My hair is a light blue and so are my eyes.

Inverted is the correct term. All I'm seeing is inverted colors.

I turn to look for Betty but all I see is a girl crying.

She's glitching out, her light blue skirt is ragged at the end and she has a hole in her chest where her heart would be.

It's bleeding.

"Ar!" Flowey snaps me out of my daze.

I give my back to the girl as I see my genocidal self about to plunge a knife into my chest.

My soul forms a shield and protects me from it. She disappears from my sight and before I can catch my breath, I feel pain.

I gasp slightly and shakily look down at myself. There's a hole through my chest.

The pink appendage.

I start gasping and shaking when I see what's at the end. A green soul.

My soul.

I reach for it. Am I trying to get it back?

"Good job, Akumu~" I hear Betty say. The appendage pulls the soul back inside me, making my vision go normal again but it leaves my body completely.

I drop completely to the floor, face first. It's getting harder and harder to breathe...

I struggle to get back up from the ground. The hole in my chest hurts but I can't let her get away.

I only managed to hold my weight with my forearms.

Gasping for air, I tilt my head up to see Betty holding the green soul in her hand, standing next to my look-a-like.

My fear.

My eyes widen as dread looms over me.

She wouldn't.

I reached out my hand with tears in falling from my eyes. "no..Betty! STOP!!" I shout with all the strength I have left.

This can't be happening...

Betty turns to me and smiles. Holding the green soul in her hand, she pushes it inside the genocidal me.

I can't breathe.

I can't see.

I can't hear.

I can't feel.

.....

Ar̶g̶on̶'s P.O.V
I move my arms. It's been a while since I've seen the great outdoors. "Ah, you're complete~"

Betty says, charm in her voice. "You wreck havoc all you want." she said. I stepped in front of the running water.

I hear someone calling for Ar. I turned to the flower shaking Ar desperately. She's like a rag doll. She won't reply.

I have her soul now.

I step through and look around. I hear laughter inside the cave. Polishing the knife, I am ready to go.

Just you wait, Betty....
