I grew tired after two hours and I placed Cal on the ground. He was fine. I then fell from my position and I crashed into the Earth. Cal ran to me and helped me up sitting on the ground.

"Allora are you okay?"

I nodded. Cal hugged me close and then kissed me.

"You abandoned your AI for me?" he asked.

"It was the only thing I could do." I explained.

"You're giving up so much."

"I know." I said my voice trailing off.

I stumbled. Cal hugged me again and picked me up and gave me a piggy back ride.

"I'll take you back to the base okay?"

"Okay..."

He started to walk and I was passing out. I felt my neck and rubbed the scar on the back where my AI chip used to be. I had it in my pocket.

"Cal..."

"Yeah?"

"Um... nevermind."

"It's okay. I won't judge."

"I don't understand after everything that happened why you would come back for me. There's other people but you chose me. Why?"

Cal was silent for a few minutes.

"I'm sorry I asked." I quickly said.

"No it's okay. I've been wondering that too but I guess I now know why."

"Why?"

"Are you okay to stand?"

"Yeah."

I got off and Cal turned around and kissed me.

"It's because I'm madly in love with you. I would never leave you no matter what."

I turned red and Cal laughed.

"What?" I asked.

"You look cute blushing."

I punched him gently on the arm and we laughed.
