Jadyn's POV

"Jadyn, hurry up or you'll be late!" My mother, the Luna, calls.

I reluctantly crawl out of bed and put on some school clothes.

I eat breakfast as fast as I can so I can catch the bus.

I barely make it. Great fist impression. Eric comments. "Shut up." I mutter softly.

I'm in my senior year of high school, so ready for it to be over.

"Heyyy," my best friend Arnoll sitting beside me. "Guess what?"

"What?" I ask, for the sake of our friendship. "I found my mate!"

I'm happy for Arnoll, but a little bit jealous. 

I sigh, congratulate Arnoll, then rest me head on the window. This'll be a long year.

--Later--

When I walk in the classroom for 2nd period, I see my Mate sitting in the first row, the perfect picture student.

She's gorgeous, with those beautiful, blue eyes.

I don't realize I'm staring until Eric points it out. You know, you could look away.

"Did anybody tell you it's rude to stare?" she tells me.

"Did anybody tell you to shut up?" Arnoll says as he joins me.

She just rolls her eyes in response.

"Class, settle down." Ms. Abbey says.

"Please welcome our new student, Merrow Rivershore."

Merrow stands up and curtsies.

Her eyes never leave mine the entire time.
