Lisa's P.O.V.

Once Teresa had stepped out from behind the building, or more likely from inside the building, she just stood there. It made me nervous, as if she was waiting for something to happen.
'You think that's Teresa?' Newt asked.
'No clue,' Thomas said, but I knew he was lying.
'You think she was the one screaming? It stopped right after she walked out?' Frypan asked.
Minho grunted. 'Better bet is she was the one torturing somebody. Probably killed her and put her out of her misery when she saw us coming.'
I grinned, but only to hide my nerves. Still Minho smirked at me. Then, for some weird reason, he clapped his hands once. 'Alright, who wants to go meet this nice young lady.'
'I'll do it,' Thomas said immediately.
'I was just kidding, shuck-face,' Minho said. 'Let's all go over there. She could have an army of psycho girl ninjas hiding in that shack of hers.'
'Psycho girl ninjas?' Newt and Dawn repeated at the same time. Both of them sounded surprised, if not annoyed, by Minho's attitude.
'No,' Thomas suddenly said. 'You guys stay here-I'll go talk to her. Maybe it's a trap or something. We'd be idiots to all go over there and fall right into it.'
'And you're not an idiot for going by yourself?' Minho asked.
'Well, we can't just walk on by without checking it out. I'll go. If something happens or gets suspicious, I'll call for help,' Thomas mumbled.
Minho paused for a long moment. 'All right. Go. Our brave little shank.' He whacked Thomas on the back with this open palm.
'This is bloody stupid,' Newt interrupted, stepping forward. 'I'll go with him.' I sighed and rolled my eyes.
'No!' Thomas snapped. 'Just...let me do this. Something tells me we need to be careful.'
'Maybe the fact that we're surrounded by scorched sand, warned by a psycho docter rat and heading towards a city filled with human eating monsters?' I said, raising my eyebrows and folding my arms.
Minho laughed but stopped suddenly. And I saw why. Dawn was staring at him with her eyebrows raised.
Thomas shot me an angry glare. 'If I cry like a baby, come save me.'
And before we could say something else he ran away towards the girl.

I sighed and sat down in the sand. 'Great, he's dead.'
The other boys gave me shocked glares. I took a deep breath. 'Just kidding shuck-faces.'
Their faces slowly relaxed and they sat down as well.

It took a while for Thomas to finally come out of the shed.
'There he is!' Dawn yelled and we all stood up.
Minho frowned and stared in the distance. 'What's he doing?'
I narrowed against the sun light. Thomas was running, hard, but away from us, towards the city.
'Where's he going?' Dawn asked. 'Don't know. Come on!' Minho groaned and started to make his way after him. I sighed, and we were running again.

It was two hours, maybe three, later that Thomas finally stopped running. He sat down in the sand and didn't move anymore.
It took us a while to catch up to him. Minho reached him first. And he did not look happy. He walked around Thomas three full times before he sat down and started to talk.
'What...Why...What kind of shuck idiot are you, Thomas?'
Thomas didn't answer.
'How could you do that? How could you just come out of there and take off like that? Without explaining anything? Since when is that how we do things? You slinthead.' He let out a big sigh and shook his head.
'Sorry,' Thomas finally muttered. 'It was kinda traumatizing.'
I frowned as I felt myself getting more curious. 'Traumatizing?' I asked. 'Who did you see in there? What happened?'
'It was...it was Teresa.'
The silence that followed was almost unbearable. I looked around, not knowing what to say or do. Whatever had happened in that shed must have been shocking. Or else Thomas would never react like this.
'What?' Minho finally said. 'You're serious?' Thomas simply nodded.
It made Minho look understandably shocked. 'And you left her there? Dude you need to start talking and tell us what happened.'
And Thomas started talking. Seeing her, how she trembled and cried, how she acted like Gally, almost possessed, before he killed Chuck. I noticed a few boys throwing me glares but I ignored them and stared at Thomas who finally told us about the warning she'd given.
It sounded all very weird to me but there was one thing that did bother me. The "being possessed" part.
It was like more and more people were getting controlled by Wicked but whenever it happened to me it seemed to be different. It worried me.

'Wow,' Minho said, somehow wrapping it all up with that one simple word.
Several minutes passed. No one talked. The dry wind played with my hair, made sand go everywhere in my clothes.
I scanned the surroundings and saw how close we were by the buildings. It would only take another day or two to reach it. The thought of the danger in there, scared me to death. But dying out here scared me even more.

'It's some kind of trap,' Thomas finally said, breaking me out of my thoughts. 'I don't know what would've happened, or how many of us would've died. Maybe all of us.
But I could see that there wasn't any doubt in her eyes when she broke away from whatever restrained her. She saved us and I bet they make her...' He swallowed. 'I bet they make her pay for it.'
My stomach twisted with hatred for Wicked and everything they stood for.
Minho reached out and squeezed Thomas's shoulder. 'Dude, if those shuck Wicked people wanted her dead, she'd be rottin' under a big pile of rocks already. She's just as tough as anybody else, maybe tougher. She'll survive.'
Somehow those words even calmed me a bit. I frowned at Minho and felt suddenly surprised. He really was a good leader.

'I know. Somehow I know,' Thomas answered.
Minho stood up. 'We should've stopped a couple hours ago to get some sleep. But thanks to Mr. Desert Runner down here-' He lightly whacked Thomas in the head. '-we ran ourselves ragged till the freaking sun went down. I still think we need to rest for a while. So find a nice place or whatever and try to sleep.'
Sleeping ended up being no problem at all for me. I was tired of running and all the unanswered questions going through my head.
The last thing I remembered before falling asleep was the falling star in the sky and my wish for all of us to make it out alive.
