Chapter 5 : Why don't you want to trust?
Little by little, Lui's eyes opened because of the rays of the sun that hit him. He still wanted to get some sleep, especially since the bed was uncomfortable and he had been cold during the night.
His mind needed a rest but he knew he wouldn't have all day to do this and he would have to hurry. He straightened up and stretched.
A few minutes to take the time to fully wake up and then he remembered what happened the day before. Lots of events. And to think that the previous day, he was near his father telling him that nothing would happen to him. Besides, the army dead, he didn't know if Tarl had survived. Then there was the story between Shu and Valt. And above all, the scene that still makes Lui blush, that of the kiss with the monster.
Lui mentally beat himself up so that this scene wouldn't affect him, even if it was a failure since he was even more nervous to think about it, and especially even redder.
The door opened, Shu appeared. He looked calm and it looked like he hadn't slept. "Hi, are you awake?"
"You see it yourself, right?" Just said to Lui with a shrug. "You should go back to bed, you have a bad head."
"I can't lie down, Free's gone hunting."
"And what? Are you afraid I'll run away?" Lui laughed. Shu nodded. The Glace Prince sighed, it's true that he always thought of fleeing.
"Listen, it's for your protection that you have to stay here." Shu said as he sat up on the bed. "If you leave you will get lost. The scavengers will run after you."
"I know how to defend myself against animals."
"You have a bad habit of underestimating your opponents. You know? Very close to here, there is an enchanted spring. When the animals drink the water, their forms and their strength are strengthened, they become dangerous. I hope you don't end up in front of them. "
Lui rolled his eyes, "Yeah yeah."
"You do not believe me ?"
"I believe what I see."
"We must have told you that before, but you look like your father."
"Yeah, and what's the problem?"
"Nothing. I'm just saying that."
"Yeah, something else?"
"No, I'll leave you."
"I have a question." called out Lui. Shu turned to him. "Can we go for a walk? I mean, with you but it's just because I don't want to stay locked up."
Shu smirked, "Sure. Free should agree." And then he left the room.
Then Lui thinks about it. He must take the opportunity to get away from them but he will be alone against two. And especially since these two opponents are stronger than him. He searched the room for something useful until he saw something that might interest him. A knife. If he was already hurting one, the other might not pay attention to him and heal his mate. But maybe that won't happen and the other will chase him down.
He still took the weapon in his hand and he felt something, an aura called him. His old weapon was confiscated from him during the battle, so he was going to take this one. A door sound was heard and Lui quickly put the knife in his pocket. He turned his head to see Free this time.
He still got nervous about what happened yesterday but tried to keep his cool anyway and not show anything.
"You woke up early." the monster simply said. "You should rest."
"I don't need this."
"Hm, is anyone okay?"
"Why are you asking me that?"
Free shrugged, "You look pretty strange to me." He started to walk over to the blue haired boy and brought his hand to his face. He found the prince tensing at the gesture but didn't stop until he touched it. The other jumped. "Why are you so tense? You're not scared anyway, are you?"
"'N-No ..." Lui realized he had just stammered. He was a little ashamed since he never did that. He lowered his gaze so as not to meet the blonde's intense gaze.
The latter moved closer and closer to the Ice boy. He took her hand and pulled his companion's chin up to look at him. Upon eye contact, the monster saw Him blush and look away. "Take a look at me." White didn't want to, which displeased the Golden Dragon. "Come on come on, kid, you're not going to look like that all the time. Show me those beautiful amethyst-colored eyes that I love to see."
Lui still wanted to look down but eventually obeyed, since he knew there was no other way. He gasped when the distance between the two was a few millimeters. He felt the other's breath on his lips and their eyes had made eye contact.
Their lips went to each other and nothing interrupted the moment until ...
Shu walked in, "Guys, are you coming or not?" Free pulled back and stared at him dimly. "What? Did I interrupt something important?"
"No, do you think so?" Free said wryly.
"You can go on, it was just to tell you we should go for a walk, this is the time the scavengers aren't up."
Lui walked past Free to find Shu, "Let's go. Let's do this asap."
Shu nodded and looked at Free. "You come ?". The blond shook his head. "What do you have in mind?" Shu asked since Lui was already further away. Free only looked at him and then pulled out a drawer. Shu looked inside and saw nothing. "What? Wait ... that wasn't the place where ...?" Free nodded. Shu sighed, "When is he going to let it go, god damn it?" The golden dragon hit him on the head. "What ?!" The blond pointed to the door, clearly telling him that He is escaping. "He doesn't know the exit." Free gave him a dark look. "Wow, it's okay, I'm going but why don't you go yourself?" Free shook his head and ran off. "Are you waiting ...!? Hmm ... I will follow him ...? No, it is his protege now. I'll wait for them. "
On Lui's side, he was running right now. He had remembered the ways out of the house. But once he got out of there, it was hard for him to find his way back. He saw snow everywhere, and also with traces of blood. He sensed presences around him but didn't pay attention.
He ran for another ten minutes until he stopped, exhausted from the race.
He heard growls coming from the bushes. He looked and took the knife. He was vigilant because it was surely scavengers. Shu and Free had talked about it.
Indeed, it was them. They had sharp fangs and red eyes. Saliva dripped from their powerful, sharp jaws. He knew he was in danger of being killed, besides that it was a pack he had in front of him.
He squeezed the knife and it shone to form a spear with the point. It is Luinor's spear. He looked it a little surprised and then prepared to defend himself.
The wolves jumped on him and the white dragon chased them away with his weapon. There were many of them and he didn't know how to fight them all at once. This sort of weakness the wolves were aware of. Lui received claws and sometimes bites. Blood has flowed again.
When all of the wolves were about to jump on him, he channeled his last strength into the blade. It shone brightly and everything exploded around.
Then the scavengers fled. Lui dropped the weapon, which came back to itself. And he dropped to the ground, he was breathing hard and felt like he was going to pass out from all his energy spent. He felt like the knife was sucking up all of his life energy to transform it into power energy.
He saw a shadow appear in front of him. He already knew who it was. He closed his eyes and everything went black.
Some time later, Shu opened the door, seeing Free with a sleeping Lui in his arms. And the knife.
Shu picked him up and took him to his room. He took the opportunity to treat him. Free was with him, sitting on the bed. They now looked at the sleeping boy.
"How can we get him to trust us?" Shu asked.
"I don't know. He doesn't want to understand."
"We mustn't let go. Even though he's stubborn, the knife picked him up, so it's not for nothing."
"Just because the knife chose him doesn't mean we shouldn't let go. He'll be with us because I want him. I don't care about the legend on this item."
"This object ... You know it doesn't choose just anyone."
"I know that, yes. But for now, let's not talk about it."
Shu nodded. "We should let him sleep."
"I will stay with him." Free said, "I'll watch him."
Shu shrugged and left.
End of the chapter.
