Chapter 21 : The Wrath of the White Dragon

The evening had now fallen. The inhabitants had installed lanterns in front of their houses, creating a bright and festive city. A big fire had been lit in the center, on the square. Benches, installed to welcome the inhabitants and guests, were set up on all sides. The square was located in the right alley that led to the palace.

Lui was looking from the balcony at all the people who were waiting impatiently for it to start. They were joyful, happy. And they would be even happier when the King announced that he was going to kill the monster in front of their astonished eyes. This made him angry. Free is the person he loves, and certainly not this famous princess. He closed his eyes, the plan had to succeed. He took his knife and looked at it. And then, in his pocket, the relic in the shape of a spinning top shone. Lui took it and admired it.

"It will soon be your turn, Luinor," Lui said, speaking to the dragon spirit in the bey. "We will not fail, I will save him and kill them all."

"What do you mean by kill them all?" asked the spirit, "Do you want to kill all of his people? Or just the ones who hurt you?"

Lui did not answer and looked at the lights. He narrowed his eyes a little, "We'll see."

"I don't mind killing everyone, or even this entire kingdom, even, that would be great. But for you, Valt, Shu, or Free, would they be happy if you killed them all without mercy?"

"I know they would not agree. They would tell me that there are innocent people among that crowd, but I'm sure all of them would be happy if Free died." He clenched his fists and glared in fury. "They must be punished. All of them without exception!"

Luinor felt the rage inside his owner. "If that is your wish, I will do it and burn everything in my path."

Lui nodded and continued to look at his happy inhabitants, until the door opened.

"Lui." said Valt as he walked slowly towards him. "Is everything okay?"

"Yes, perfectly." said Lui dryly. He didn't want to see anyone right now, not even Shu or Valt.

"Hm..." Valt wasn't sure. He could feel a bad aura coming from his best friend.

"Go away, now!" shouted Lui at him.

"But Lui..." Valt was now sure that Lui was not normal. He would never have told her to leave, especially with that intensity and pronunciation.

"Don't make me force you, you'll regret it."

Valt bowed his head and left. He knew it was pointless to continue. Lui would not change his mind.

Once he left, Lui turned and sat down in a chair. He put his elbows on his knees and his head in his hands. He grunted. "No one is going to stop me." He raised his head and his eyes took on an extra intensity. He breathed hard. "No one!" He shouted, his voice sounded like it carried loud and far, but the others didn't hear for all that.

Luinor, from where he stood, spoke, though his master could not hear for all that. "Is he really becoming like his father? Crazy?" This question, everyone should think about, but no one really suspects.

FROM SHASA'S SIDE

She was in a room reserved for the guests of honor at the palace. She was walking around in circles thinking.

"I have to make him fall for me, I have to make him like me. But is he really the boy I'm looking for so much? Isn't he like all his others, idiots? Does he want it?" She looked at the lights down in the city. "We'll see tonight, don't think about it. But I want to know who this monster is." She left her room and went down to the prisons. "This is where I found Lui last time, with the other boy..."

She looked around, trying to find what she was looking for. Then she heard a voice speaking.

"It's going to happen soon." said Shu, "Hopefully it will work."

"It has to happen, we have to kill that traitor." said Free with a growl.

She walked to the voices and found a white haired boy with red eyes in front of the gates of a cell. But she thought she heard two voices, not one. Maybe the other one was in the prison.

Shu saw her quickly. "We have a visitor, or rather, a visitor." He stepped away from the wall and went to meet the girl. "You're Princess Guten, right?" Shasa nodded. "Hm, what are you doing here? This is not a place where the likes of you hang out." He crossed his arms, especially since he wanted her to leave.

"I came here to meet this famous monster. There are so many stories about him but no proof."

"People really do make things up, don't they?" laughed Free. "They're all hopeless nerds."

The girl saw that it was not the white boy who had spoken. She walked over to the gates and saw a blond boy with a red streak. "Who are you?" the girl asked.

"Who am I? Hm, a being that everyone nicknames a monster. Even if their truth is a bit skewed." said Free with a smile.

"Are you the famous monster? You're not as ugly as they all say you are."

"Thanks, I'll take the compliment." said Free with a smile. "So you're the one my human has to marry? Wow, what a resemblance. Blue hair, violet eyes. You must make a beautiful couple in the eyes of everyone." said Free. "Except for me, Shu, Valt and especially Lui."

"Your human? So you're the one he loves?!" Shasa couldn't believe that a prince like Him, had fallen in love with a monster.

"Does it seem so unreal?" asked Free, he stood up, "Maybe to you it does, to all of you weak humans, but it is real. The prince will never love you, human. Open your little eyes, he only loves one person and that is me. Just like he's the only person I love. So give up the idea of marrying him, or I'll be sorry to kill you." Free said bitterly.

Shasa stepped back. "You won't know how to kill me, you'll be executed! "

Free bowed his head. "Maybe I will be, maybe I won't. Fate will decide."

Shasa growled and left at full speed.

"I hope this meeting doesn't change everything." said Shu. (Haha, that makes me think of the title of the story haha 😅🤣.)

"We all hope so, Shu." said Free as he looked at the hole of light coming from the top of the cell. "I hope Lui knows what he has to do."

"I'm sure he does, he's still not a moron."

"Yeah, no doubt."

Small time jump~

Dancers were dancing along the big fire. Their shadows were traced on the ground thanks to the huge blaze that rose to the sky, with its flames. Most people were already seated at the tables. The food, doe, boar, everything that was meat, plenty of fruit, it was a banquet after all. People were eating, they were not used to that. Well, only on very special occasions.

Lui was seated at a table, that of the royal family. Shasa had gone dancing with others. His father, who was not interested in all this, had to pretend to listen to what Roy Guten was saying.

ON VALT'S SIDE

Valt was, at the moment, with Shu, in a corner where no one was paying attention. He was looking at Lui who had his elbows on the table and his hands, forming a fist by themselves, on his forehead. He was just waiting for the event to happen so he could help Free.

Walt was worried about his behavior. Shu put his hand on his shoulder. "What's going on, Valt?"

"Nothing..." he said, but in his voice you could tell it wasn't the truth.

"Valt, please tell me."

"It's Lui." said Valt with a sigh, "He's weird. Is this the effect of Free not being with him?"

"Imagine the two of them, Valt. They've gotten so close to each other, they've come so far together. And now they're being pulled apart. It's not nice for them. They're getting pulled apart."

Valt looked down. "Why can't I even comfort him. It looks like he's forging a wall of ice again, but this time toward everyone."

Shu sighed, "Looks like, only Free will be able to change him again. Let's hope he manages to soften Lui, also no, we'll still have problems."

"I don't know about that. He'll still talk to us afterwards, right?"

"Yeah, that's how it should go. But who knows."

FROM SHASA'S SIDE

She was dancing with some of the villagers, but was already getting tired of them. She stopped and walked towards the royal table. She saw Lui who had his eyes closed and was breathing to keep his composure.

"I have to wait for the right moment..." said Lui softly, talking to himself.

"Hi, Lui!" said Shasa as she happily came up to him. "Are you coming to dance?"

"Just get out of here." said Lui coldly.

"She's not improving his morale." said Shu as she looked from a distance.

"Hm..." Valt lowered his head sadly.

"Hey, a little respect, thanks." said Shasa, "I'm trying to talk to you properly, try to make it reciprocal at least."

"I don't want anything to do with you!" shouted Lui, glaring at her. She was afraid of his face, those eyes didn't emit the same as before. She could see his teeth, snarling dangerously at her.

"My son, you should accompany the lady," said Lui's father.

"Shut up, you!"

Lui's father was silent, trying to catch what his son had. He had never spoken to him like this. He looked at her eyes, it was a step towards what was called madness. He smiled inwardly, for he knew that Lui's fate might well be evil.

Valt saw Lui's anger and went over to them. He placed his hand on his best friend's shoulder. "Hey, calm down." Lui only growled at him. Faced with this behavior, Valt removed his hand so as not to get into trouble. Shu silently told him to come and join him and leave them alone for now. Valt nodded and ran off.

"My dear girl, why don't you go on dancing with these people? They'd probably be more excited to dance with you than Lui would." said Roy Guten.

Shasa sighed, "Yes, Father." She left.

Lui, still in a bad mood, felt Luinor's aura calling him. He pulled his bey out of his pocket and watched her. Inter-dimensional connection, space where Lui and Luinor can talk without anyone hearing.

"You need to control yourself, young master," Luinor said, "I think your ability is quite negative right now, and it could very well cost you dearly."

"I don't need your advice, I do what I want."

"Don't do anything stupid, that might interfere with the plan," Luinor said.

"I'll burn them all." said Lui, narrowing his gaze. "They will pay for the evil they have done to me, especially my father."

"Will there be any spared?"

"Hm..." Lui thought about it. "Yes, there will be but very few. You can destroy everything, because those who will be spared, will simply be the survivors."

"And few will be reacted to quickly enough."

"That's it. No one will escape your fire and my fury."

"Very well, you give the orders, master. But don't do anything either. There are people who care about you, so don't forget your friends."

"My friends? Valt, Shu, Suoh, I have almost no friends. I've already lost a lot of loved ones, I've survived some. What difference does it make to lose any more?" He looked at the huge ice dragon in front of him.

"It might not affect you, right now, but...you might regret it afterwards. And Free 'll resent it if you kill Valt, the immortal, and Shu, the vampire. They, along with the monster, are your two closest relatives. You must not forget them."

"Never mind!" said Lui loudly. "You just know what you have to do! So just obey!"

The white dragon, frozen, nodded. "I will burn them all in my wild flames."

Lui smiled. "There, that's it. Don't think about the death toll."

The conversation ended and Lui put his top back in his pocket. He ate a little and continued doing nothing, waiting for the important moment to come.
