Chapter 14 : Does Love Show Itself at Last?!
Gabe was being watched by Free, who was staring at him the whole time. The brown-haired boy was not confident towards the masked person. The monster was laughing at him every chance he got, too. He felt he had to act fast or the demon would kill him before he could accomplish his mission.
He saw the house of the other four boys.
Shu went to a row of fruit trees and offered to help him pick fruit from the top of the tree. He accepted and started to climb to join the vampire at the top. Valt just looked at him because climbing was not his thing.
Lui got to a branch and looked up at the red-eyed boy. Valt yelled at him, "Watch out, Lui!"
"Shut up, I'm not falling!" retorted Lui.
"But the branches are slippery with snow!"
"It's okay, I'll make it."
Gabe was at the base of the tree, a little behind Valt. Free was watching Lui, keeping an eye on Gabe.
The white dragon had a moment of slipping but had caught himself on the branch. Shu came down to him and held out his hand." Come on, let's climb even higher."
Lui looked at him and grabbed his hand. They pulled themselves up and the blue man heard buzzing. "Shu, don't you hear something weird?"
Shu looked up and opened his eyes, "Uh, come on, let's go down." There was a hornet's nest. "Don't make any sudden moves and we won't make any noise. None, okay?" He nodded.
"HE, UP THERE! YOU'RE OKAY !!!!" Valt shouted
Shu's body and Lui's body froze. "There is no chance that they will attack us because of Valt, right?" asked Lui to Shu.
"We'll take our precautions, get down quickly."
Lui went down first, because Shu knows that humans can get seriously ill from hornets, surprised that those in magical territory, have developed sharper senses and their stingers are more poisonous than normal ones.
"You want a hand up there?!" asked Valt, putting his hands to the corner of his face like a megaphone.
"No!" shouted Lui. This echoed and a few hornets came out.
Shu kicked them out and swarmed Lui, "Uh yes!"
Shu pushed Lui to get down quickly but the prince said, "Wait, Shu! I'm going to slip like this!"
Blue slipped and caught himself again on a branch and tried to climb back up. Shu bent down to catch him.
"Shu! There's something behind you!" shouted Valt. Shu looked and saw the bugs with their stingers.
"Uh, could someone come!?"
"Valt." said Free, "Watch the human for me." Valt nodded and went next to Gabe, grabbing a weapon in case he tried to fight back. Free climbed up to get to the two boys, he went from branch to branch and made it to the top in seconds. "Shu. Go down and join Valt. I'll take care of Lui." Shu didn't refuse and jumped from where he was. He went next to Valt and Gabe.
"I don't trust the monster." said Gabe as he crossed his arms, "He'll probably let him die."
"You don't know our friend." said Shu as he watched Free go up Lui, "He cares a lot about the prince. He's willing to do anything for him, even if it wasn't really that at first."
"Yeah." said Valt, "He wanted to kill him."
"Hm, and you think he would accept me?"
Shu looked at him, "I don't know. Before Free will trust anyone, me and Valt have to agree too."
"And how do I get your trust?"
"From the looks of it, you won't know how to do that." said Red.
"And why is that?"
"Think about it for a moment. You come here to look for Lui and bring Him back to the palace, you're already suspicious of us. And the icing on the cake is that you're an ex of Lui. I don't think Free accepts that. He doesn't like people who hang around Lui, especially when those people have bad intentions."
"I want what's best for Him, believe me. But I think he should go back to his father."
"He won't, not at the moment," said Shu.
"I don't understand you, you want his good, don't you?" Shu nodded. "Then what's so bad about him going back to his own kind?"
Shu was about to answer but Free called out to him, "Shu, come here." He went straight to the tree and looked above him. The blond man had managed to get Lui next to him, he told the blue boy to jump and asked Shu to pick him up. Everything went perfectly and everyone was on the ground.
Lui turned to Shu, "You can go get your stupid fruit, but it will be without me." And he left inside, Gabe following him. Free saw the two humans leave and went with them.
"Do you want a hand?" asked Valt. Free shook his head. Shu called to him to help her get the dinner, fruit and meat. "Coming!"
ON LUI'S SIDE
He had entered the den, followed by Gabe. He knew he was being followed, he heard footsteps behind. He stopped and turned to see Gabe. "Hi." he said simply dry.
"You could at least talk to me differently, I came here to save you."
Lui laughed, "Save me? You're very funny, Gabe. I don't have to be saved, why do you think that? You're afraid they'll kill me, aren't you?"
"Yeah, I thought I said that already."
Lui sighed, "You know? It's been a long time since I've felt that emotion." Gabe looked at him. "Where someone actually cared about me. Sure, I had Valt before, but he was the only one. The others, my father or the counselor, didn't want to take care of me, but they had to in order to keep their reputations. The servants just did as they were told. There was no one who really cared about me. But here, with them, I feel supported, free."
"Lui, it's suicide. I do feel like this world doesn't want you. You're a human, like me, you've seen here before, no human could survive such a world."
"I will survive because of them. I can tell you, I almost died many times, in this magical world. But still, they were there, they always made sure to save me."
Gabe took him by the shoulders, "Listen to me, Lui. You are the most important person to me. I've always loved you, from the beginning, and I will until the end. I'm sorry if you got lonely after I left for war, I won't make the same mistake again, I'll stay with you."
"No, Gabe. It's over. Everything is over between us, it was already like that after you left. We can't have a relationship together anymore."
"But why?"
Lui looked away and blushed, so ashamed of what he was about to say, "I love someone else, someone other than you."
"Who?" asked Gabe seriously. He never thought his ex would have found someone else, who wasn't him to boot.
Lui tried not to stutter, but failed. "T-The one behind you..." He covered his mouth, all red. He went to the kitchen, which was open and right next door, and threw water in his face to bring the temperature down. "It's hot all of a sudden."
Gabe reacted to his words and turned around, seeing the blond boy, still in the mask, and tilting his head to the side. "You? This can't be..."
"How is that so unreal?" asked Free, looking at the boy drinking water to cool off. "I'm not such a ghoulish monster like everyone says." He took off his mask and looked Gabe in the eye. "I think...there are worse than me."
"No...Lui can't love you!"
"He does, and I do it for him. So what's the problem?"
"I...He shouldn't love you, he should love me! Me!"
"You gave Him up before, you lost Him forever." explained Free, and then he smiled, "Maybe, your death will happen well, and it will be in a very short time."
"Even if Lui does not love me with love, He will defend me from you."
"No, I don't think so, He will listen to me, as He always has."
Gabe was serious, "Then go ahead and kill me."
"Gladly." he said as he moved forward.
"Free." called Lui, "Don't kill him here, do it in the pit."
"The pit...?" asked the brown boy.
"I obey you, my prince." said Free, smiling. Gabe simply looked at him. "Did you hear his majesty? We should obey him, don't you think?" The soldier knew the monster was mocking him. You could see in his eyes, so much sadism. That smirk that always approached his lips, he liked to play with his victims before killing them.
"I don't want to waste time." Lui said, "Valt and Shu will be here soon and I'm hungry. So let's get rid of him and go eat after."
Free nodded and still smiled at Gabe, "Did you hear him?" Gabe walked as directed and the three of them found themselves in the cave where the snakes were.
"Say your last words." said Free.
Gabe closed his eyes, "I love you, Lui."
Free grinned, "Pitiful." He pushed him into the chasm and they heard Gabe's screams.
Lui unintentionally walked over and looked. He wondered why he'd agreed to this, but it was done. There was nothing he could do. He had already forgotten it once, he would just do it a second time. He then looked at Free, who also looked at him. He approached him and hugged him. The blond was a little surprised but returned it in return.
"Did I do the right thing...?" asked Lui.
Free patted him on the head, "You did the right thing, he was going to get in the way a lot, especially between us."
They intertwined their hands together, and met their eyes. Then they cut the distance in a kiss. It was a sign, that they were finally together. That the two were now together, officially.
They went back to the kitchen to find Shu and Walt, not knowing that a device with a red flashing light was still on in the pit. They didn't know what would happen now.
