chapter 8
Saturday morning
*We see Eri and Momo in the car driving to Izuku's home. The car ride was quiet, with both women not saying anything. Since being grounded, Eri didn't talk too much to Momo, scared to disappoint her again, and Momo was just scared to say the wrong thing. Soon enough, they parked in front of the car, and they got out, with Eri grabbing her bag.
Momo: It's a 3-day weekend. I'll see you on Tuesday.
Eri:....ok...
They returned to the awkward silence until Momo knocked on the door. After a few moments, the door opened, revealing Izuku with a cane in one hand and a cup of coffee on the other.
Izuku: There's my princess.
Izuku said, smiling. Eri almost jumped to her father, wrapping her arms around his neck and hiding her face in his neck.
Eri: I missed you, daddy.
Eri said it softly but so lovingly. It caused a twitch of negative emotions like guilt, regret, and sadness to grow inside Momo, but she remained strong.
Izuku: I missed you too, baby girl. Now why don't you go inside? Have you eaten? Tsuyu just finished putting the food on the table.
Eri: Yes, thank you.
Eri walked inside but was stopped when Zuku grabbed the collar of her shirt.
Izuku: Hey, you were raised better than that. Say goodbye to your mother.
*Izuku's tone was also stern, but it was different from Momo's tone. Izuku had a joking atmosphere around him. Eri turned around and hugged her mother, who hugged back.
Momo: Have fun today, honey. I love you. I love you so much...
Eri: I love you too, mom...
Eri let go of the hug and walked further inside. But again, Izuku grabbed her by the back of her collar in her shirt.
Izuku: What's not going to give your mother a kiss goodbye?
Eri gave a small huff, walked back, and kissed her mother's cheek. Eri looked at her father, slightly annoyed by her eyes, asking if she's done. Izuku just raised his hands in surrender as Eri walked past him, and Izuku grabbed her collar again. *
Izuku: what? I don't get a hello kiss.
Eri groaned and kissed his father's cheek before walking inside, annoyed. Yes, but in a much better mood than before.
With Momo and Izuku
*Once Eri was far enough, both gave out small laughter, seeing their daughters antics. Even Momo's mood was lifted a little.
Momo: That was rather cheeky, Zuzu.
Izuku: Why, Mochi, I have no idea what you're talking about.
*Izuku said with an innocent smile, making Momo snort in amusement; her mood got more serious as she looked at Izuku.*
Momo: Izuku, I need to tell you something. It's about Eri. She's grounded.
Izuku: I see. What did she do?
Momo: She drank beer... I'll be honest, I don't know if what I did was the right choice. I just went into panic mode, but it's too late to back down now. She's grounded until Tuesday. no phone, no friends. No electronics
Izuku: Hm, I'll agree with no electronics and no phones, but I'm going to have to defy you in the no friends
Momo:I'm glad that. I took it too far when I said no friends, but like I said, i just went into panic mode.
Izuku:understandable If I did that at Eri's age, mom would've acted like that, maybe worse, probably worse, definitely worse. I would've been a dead man.
Momo gave an amused smile as she gave a polite bow and walked away. Izuku walked inside, and his body started to tremble. Eri, who heard everything and was watching, threw the corner, scared of how her father would react to the news. Then she heard laughter. Confused, she walked closer and saw her father, Izuku Midoriya, holding the wall while he laughed.
Eri:d...daddy?
Eri said it in a confused tone. Her brain does not know how to process this information.
Izuku: Oh my God, it's been a good second since I laughed that hard. I can't believe you drank beer pfff hahahahahaha Oh God, it's hurting to laugh. Oh magneto...
Eri: You're taking it a lot better than mom did, and I didn't drink beer. I took a swing and spit it all out. It tasted god awful.
Izuku: Good for you, honey, and no. I'm not mad. Yes, I'm confused, but not mad. I would be a hypocrite if I was mad.
Eri: What do you mean?
Izuku: Well, I also drank alcohol at your age.
Eri looked at her father with a shocked expression, making Izuku chuckle.
Izuku: Honey, I was in jail at your age; drinking alcohol was the least of my worries.
Eri: I'm just shocked. Wait, you were in prison. How did you get beer?
Izuku: I didn't; I was making like 10 cents an hour. But there was this inmate who made wine in his cell.
Eri:how? How could he make...wait... Oh God, ew!!!
Izuku busted a gut laughing again as his daughter connected the dots. Yes, Izuku Midoriya drank toilet wine.
Izuku: Hey, now I was in jail. You get what you get, and you like it.
Eri: Still just... just ew!!
Izuku: Now do you want to tell me why you decided to try beer out? As you can see, I won't be mad.
Eri: Do I have to?
*Izuku, being an expert in fear because he was a scaredy cat all his childhood, could hear the fear in Eri's soft tone. Eri felt the hand of his father softly placed on her shoulder. She looked up and saw him smiling.
Izuku: No, you don't have to. I'm not going to force you, but know that whenever you are ready to talk, I'm here, ok?
Eri:yes daddy...
Eri said she was feeling relief but at the same time guilty that she's keeping this secret that's ever-growing. They walked to the table where Tsuyu was waiting for them. She saw the two and gave them a patient smile.
Izuku: Now let's eat all this wonderful food cooked by the most wonderful hands in this house.
Eri:t.. Thank you for the food, Miss Tsuyu.
Tsuyu: I didn't cook it, honey.
Eri looked at her father kissing his own hands with a smug smile, making her giggle and tsuyu roll her eyes in amusement.
Izuku: So, Eri, any plans for today?
Eri: Well, I finished my homework before coming here, so maybe read a book?
Izuku: Hm, not bad, but we had something else in mind.
Eri:oh?
Tsuyu: It's too beautiful a day to stay inside; we're going to the beach.
Eri:t..the beach? But that's a public place with so many people!
*Eri said her fear growing of the izuku haters. She started to scratch her wrists with a tick she's gathered from her. Way to deal with her stress, Tsuyu noticed the tick but said nothing, having no reason to believe it would be anything else than a trait she got from izuku. Izuku placed his hand on Eri's to calm her down.
Izuku: Relax, honey, take a few breaths, ok?
Eri did what she was told: she took as much air as she could, holding it in for a moment before letting that air out.
Izuku:better?
Eri: A little...
Izuku: And yes, the beach is a public place. Me and Tsuyu were talking about a private beach.
Eri, do you own a private beach? Was the lawsuit money that much?
Izuku: Yes, it was a lot of money. Like a whole lot of money. But no, we don't own it per se; it's a time-share type of deal. This 3-day weekend is our time to use it, and with this weather, it seems like a waste not to do just that. So, what do you say? You can bring your friends if they don't mind being around my side of the family.
Eri: No, I'm sure they'll be thrilled, but who's coming?
Izuku: You're two grandmothers; you're grandpa and his girlfriend, Kaina.
Eri: I guess I could ask if they're interested.
Tsuyu: After breakfast, eat before it gets cold.
Izuku: But it's an iced coffee; it's supposed to be cold.
Tsuyu:very funny I'm on the floor, dying of laughter. Kero
*Tsuyu said in the most monotone voice she could muster, making Izuku grin at her as they finally got to eating with their heads down, just enjoying the peaceful morning. Eri glanced between the two. Unlike her mother's home, Izuku's felt different more—inviting and loving it was. The only word that Eri could think of was cozy, and it gave her such a sense of calmness she desperately needed.
Later
*We see Izuku putting the finishing stuff in the trunk of the car. When he noticed something at the back of the trunk, he grabbed it; it was a note and a strange device.*
Note:Kevin If you found this, it means you finally cleaned your car. That device is the reason why your car gets blown up so much. I found it so funny each time. Gwen was in on it too.
Izuku:poor bastard....
Izuku was about to throw the device, but then he got an idea—an awful idea. Izuku got a wonderfully awful idea. He sneaked into his asshole neighbors driveway and placed the device under his car, right where it wouldn't be noticed and wouldn't fall off.
Izuku: Am I the asshole for doing this? ...fuck no, he destroyed my flower garden. This is karma.
*Izuku walked back to his home whistling when he froze smiling. He took a small breath of appreciation at what lay before him.*
Izuku:new dress?
Tsuyu: Yes, do you like it?
Izuku: simple and beautiful, like you love, and you look amazing in it.
*Izuku walked up to her and kissed her on the lips, to which Tsuyu returned the kiss, placing her hands on his cheek. They let go when they heard Eri coming down the stairs since she still wasn't used to seeing Izuku and Tsuyu give that kind of affection. Both knew it and wanted to make her feel comfortable.
Eri: What do you think?
*Izuku smiled as he couldn't help but see Eri as the little girl of all those years ago when he taught her to swim.*
Eri:daddy?
Zuku shook his head and smiled at his baby girl.
Izuku: You look adorable, honey. I'm sure Nanoka will love it.
Eri: Yeah, I hope....wait....how do you know about that?!
Eri said extremely red, making Izuku laugh until Tsuyu slapped him behind his head. Izuku kept chuckling as he rubbed his head.
Izuku: Baby, you're mother and me keep each other up to date with anything that has to do with you.
Eri:you do? Why?
Izuku:why else? You're our daughter; you come first before all else.
*Tsuyu nodded in agreement, making Eri smile shily, while at the bag of her head she started to feel guilty for giving her mother unintentionally the silent treatment. *Izuku clapped as a smile appeared on his face.
Izuku: Alright, let's get going. We still need to pick up your friends.
Eri nodded, and they walked out with Izuku, making sure that both girls didn't see the smoke coming out of the neighbor's car. Izuku got inside the muscle car and drove as fast as he legally could. After a bit of silent driving, Izuku put on some music. Tsuyu immediately changed it to one of hers, and Izuku gave her a playfully annoyed look.
Izuku:Tsuyu, come on, it's my turn.
Tsuyu: 4 words, shake that. by.eminem Kero
Zuku groaned with a small smile and looked at his fiancee incredulously.
Izuku: Are you still mad about that?
Eri: Mad about what?
Izuku, before getting this one, there was another car I bought, and Tsuyu didn't take it. Please do it.
