chapter 41
Days later
With Tamaki
Tamaki sighed, tired after another day of saving the day.
Tamaki: I've got to give them credit. I've never seen anything like that goat thing. Magneto, that's going to be in my nightmare. As a new rule, we don't talk about what the goat did. And here I am talking to myself. I'm tired...
Tamaki said to himself, He walked inside his home with a tired smile.
Tamaki:Penelope I'm home...!
Tamaki said he was walking to find his daughter and seeing her drawing while her babysitter looked after her.
Clio: Hey, Tamaki, how was your day?
Tamaki: Ah, same old, same old. How was Penelope? Did she act like the good girl she is?
Penelope: Yes, daddy, I was a good girl.
Penelope said she was smiling as she went and hugged her father.
Penelope: When is the blue-haired lady coming back?
Tamaki flinched and frowned; he sometimes hates it when he's right.
Tamaki:I knew she would get attached."
Tamaki:I.... I don't know, honey. I can ask her, but not for a long time, I think.
Penelope:oh...ok...
Penelope went back to drawing, and Tamaki stayed frowning, cursing under his breath. He felt the hand of Clio on his shoulder.
Clio: She'll be ok; she just needs time.
Tamaki: It's my fault. I knew I should've said no, but that small part of the old me didn't let me.
Clio: That's a bullshot. Tell me, did you like having Nejire over here?
Tamaki: It doesn't matter what I feel; what matters is how Penelope feels, and now she feels like that because I placed my feelings first, and that should never happen.
Clio: That doesn't sound healthy.
Tamaki: It doesn't matter if it's not healthy for me; Penelope is my everything; her happiness comes first.
Tamaki sighed, giving Clio her payment and a tired smile.
Tamaki: Sorry, I shouldn't bother you with my problems. I'm sure you have your own problems to deal with.
Clio: It's fine. Yes, I'm younger than you, but I would like to think of you as an uncle who's stupid when it comes to love.
Tamaki, do you call your uncle stupid?
Clio: Mommy taught me to be a straight shooter.
Tamaki: Yeah, that sounds like my sister.
*Both chuckled softly as Clio gave Tamaki a hug and a wave goodbye as she left. Tamaki sat down on the couch and just relaxed.
Tamaki: Penelope, honey? Want to watch a movie?
Penelope:Mulan!
Tamaki:the good one or the bad one?
Penelope:Good one, good one!!
Tamaki, hm, I don't know, but live action does have its moments.
Penélope: Ew, no daddy. I want the cartoon one!
Tamaki chuckled as Penelope sat down on her father's lap, grabbing the controller and putting on Disney Plus. Tamaki hugs Penelope and kisses her cheek.
Tamaki: You know I love you, honey, right?
Penelope:I know that Daddy, you tell me every day.
Tamaki: And I mean it every time.
Tamaki said with a soft smile as they watched the movie together, but Tamaki's heart just wasn't in it.
Tamaki:Wonder what you would do if I were the one who died, love; you were always the more bold of the two of us."
*Tamaki said with a sad smile, thinking of his late wife. Tamaki was more tired than he thought as she fell asleep half way through. Penelope, seeing this, kissed his father's cheek and covered him with the couch blanket.
Back to Japan
*We see Izuku on his couch, frowning and looking at the empty piece of paper taunting him, humiliating him as he was in a complete blank. Izuku had to write his vows.
Chizome: You know it's not that hard.
Izuku, don't even think you and mom didn't do vows; hell, you both decided to just get married at city hall.
Chizome: We were simple people, simple people with big university debt, so we couldn't afford a big wedding.
Izuku: Heh, I bet you're regretting going to university to be a doctor now, aren't you?
Chizome: Oh, you have no idea; your grandparents would be so proud of me right now.
Izuku, yeah, I never did meet them.
Chizome: count your blessings for that, your grandparents—aren't the people you would miss.
Izuku, there's a story there, huh?
Chizome: Maybe if you're interested, I'll tell you in another chapter of your life, but for now, don't get distracted; write.
Izuku; I don't even know what to write about. I mean, I have so many things I want to say, but I know I can't say them all. How do I describe the woman who's literally been with me through the good and bad times? How do I tell her, in a few words, just how much she means to me? How do I...
Chizome: How do you breathe? Calm down and follow my breath. Breathe in and breathe out.
Zuku sighed since he knew his father was right; he was overthinking things, so with a deep breath, he held it in his lungs for a few seconds and then breathed it out. He repeated this until he was able to gain control of his senses and come back to the real world.
Chizome:better?
Izuku: Not really, but I'm more calm.
Chizome:then yes. now
*Chizome sat down next to Izuku and hugged his shoulder.*
Chizome:I may not have been the most romantic person when I was with your mother, but I changed and am much more romantic.
Izuku: Yeah, because if not, you'll end up being chased and end up in the evening news for forgetting your 1-year anniversary.
*Izuku said with a smirk as Chizome groaned loudly, remembering that day. He still has a huge bullet scar on his back from that day. Izuku just laughed when Chizome groaned as his mood was lifted, remembering how Kaina got all dressed up, even putting on make-up, only for his father to forget and stay at home playing video games. Izuku got a mental image of how Kaina looked that day, and his laughter became louder.
Chizome: Ah! Shut up! You have no idea the pain I've.
Izuku just kept a smug smile on his face, looking at his father.
Izuku; I don't know what?
Chizome:never mind
Izuku: No, no, no, I don't know what? I don't know, pain? Oh, your right, I have never faced as much pain as you, father. Yes, yes, you have suffered so much in this world that my pain could never come close to yours.
Chizome: You don't have to be a dick about it.
Izuku: Oh, but I do. I really do. Now come on, help me with this. This vow needs to be perfect.
Meanwhile, with Tsuyu
Tsuyu:done Kero
Inko:oh? You already wrote your vows?
Tsuyu: It took me 2 hours, but yes, I just wrote what was in my heart. As cheesy as that sounds, I truly love your son, and these are the words I want him to remember from our wedding, Kero.
*Inko started to sniffle, being a sucker for weddings and anything romance-related.*
Inko: Aw, I think I'm going...
*Tsuyu raised her hand to stop Inko from crying. *Tsuyu took a nervous, shaky breath as she looked at the woman she considers her mother in all but blood right in the eyes.
Tsuyu: Now I'm going to tell you something, and you have to promise me you won't start to cry, understand, Kero?
*Inko looked confused at her froggy daughter-in-law but nodded none the less.*
Inko:ok? What is honey? You can tell me anything.
*Inko said, giving Tsuyu a smile that melted Tsuyu's heart.*
Tsuyu: You see, since my biological family is who they are and I want nothing to do with them, they're not invited to my wedding ceremony.
*Tsuyu said, frowning slightly at the memory of her old family. Beru would still send her letters, but Tsuyu wouldn't right back; she just couldn't.*
Inko: naturally
Tsuyu: And well, I still need someone to walk me down the island. Kero
*Inko's eyes started to widen as her lip trembled, her heart started pounding, and tears started to build up behind her eyes.*
Tsuyu: And well, I see you as a maternal figure since you took me in when I was just a stranger. Do you, Kero? So, I guess what I'm asking is...will... Will you walk me down the island, Kero?
*Tsuyu said, slightly blushing, waiting for Inko to give a response. She just sat up.*
Inko: Excuse me a minute...
*Inko walked out slowly and opened the door. She saw Ryuko there; sadly, she saw her too late.*
Ryuko:hey lo....
*Ryuko was jet-send to the wall of the house on the other side of the block from Inko, crying so much and so powerfully.*
Inko: Oh, my babies!!
*The whole street looked like a small river thanks to Inko; she walked back inside and ran to Tsuyu, hugging her tightly.*
Inko: yes, yes, yes!! I will walk you down the island. I will be honored to do that!!
*Inko said, rubbing her cheek against Tsuyu's still crying immensely while Tsuyu just rubbed Inko's back with a tired smile, looking at her mother-in-law shenanigans.*
Tsuyu "I knew I should've said this in a text, Kero."
