chapter 2
Izuku: I know, honey, I don't like it either, but, as much as I hate to say this, she has a point: we need some way to defend ourselves if the worst happens.
Izuku "More importantly, I'll have a way to defend you."
*Izuku winced when he felt Tsuyu slap him at the back of his head.*
Tsuyu: Stop it. I can see where your mind is going. I love your heroic heart, but you're not going to put yourself in danger just to protect me. kero
Izuku:sorry
Tsuyu: No, you're not Kero.
*The 3 of them chuckled at that as Izuku gave his hand to Kaina, who understood and gave him the gun.*
Tsuyu:careful Kero
Kaina: it's fine The safety is on. I know this is a lot, but if you two are still too stubborn to move out of Japan, you'll need some way to defend yourself, so what do you say?
Izuku: Can you teach us how to use one?
Kaina: Yes, I will I'll even get you two smaller ones so you can have them with you when you're out.
Tsuyu: Hm, I want to have the moving conversation again, Kero?
Izuku: Sure, honey, do you want to leave Japan?
Tsuyu: No, as much bad as has happened to us, we were born here. I'll be damned if I let those idiots kick us out of the country. This is our home; our family is here. Nothing can make me want to leave. Kero
Izuku: I feel the same way. As much as I hate the people here, I still love Japan; it's my home. My pride in my country won't let me leave, so... I guess there's only one option left.
Tsuyu: Kaina, please teach us how to use a gun responsibly. Kero
Kaina: You won't be disappointed. I'll start doing the paperwork right away. I'll be back in a few days. In the meantime, keep the gun as insurance. The paperwork is inside the briefcase.
Kaina got up and left, but only when both heard Kaina's motorcycle run off did they both take a breath of relief. Izuku put the gun down and locked it back in the case. Both hugged each other closer, their eyes never leaving the case.
Tsuyu: I hate this Kero.
Izuku: As do I, my love, as do I just another compromise to survive? Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. I'm not going to let another fire incident happen again.
*Izuku's voice was cold as he kept a serious expression. He got up.*
Izuku: I'll call Melissa and tell her we need more security.
Just as Izuku was about to walk out, he felt Tsuyu's hand grab his. Izuku looked at Tsuyu, and it broke his heart to see her reaction. She was terrified.
Tsuyu: You can do that later. Can you just hold me? Please, Kero.
*Tsuyu's voice was hoarse, and the hand that Izuku was holding was trembling. Izuku didn't say anything; he just nodded. Sitting back down, they hugged each other. The song had long since stopped helping the mood, but it kept the both of them grounded, stopping their minds from thinking of the worst-case scenario. For Izuku, his past was just a bad dream, but for Tsuyu? It was a nightmare since that day is what gave her something she is still dealing with today, PTSD.
Later
It took a few hours before the door was knocked again. Once again, Tsuyu walked to the door since Izuku was busy on her phone, telling his part-time workers they had the day off for personal reasons.
Izuku: No, I don't need you guys to be packing. I better not see any guns in my shop.
*Once Tsuyu opened the door, her fear grew as two huge hippo-looking men were in front of her.*
Bill: Sorry if we scared you, ma'am, we were just security.
*That calmed Tsuyu a little as both men stood aside, letting 3 people hide their faces with hoodies inside: Momo Yaoyorozu, Kyoka Jirou, and Eri Midoriya Yaoyorozu.*
Tsuyu, what do you want? Who are you? Kero
They took the hoodie off of them, and Tsuyu's fear grew to rage as she saw Momo. Momo flinched at the hateful look Tsuyu was giving her.
Tsuyu:you kero....
Momo:t..tsuyu, please hear me out.
Izuku:yes tsuyu...
*Momo trembled again a bit in fear as all eyes turned to Izuku, who did not look amused. No, not amused at all. He looked absolutely livid as he kept a smile on his face as he sat down.
Momo: Hello, Izuku, you look...
Izuku:angry, livid, pissed off, irate, please take your pick!
*Before Momo could explain herself, Izuku raised his hands and looked at his daughter, his smile and eyes growing a bit softer as to not scare her.*
Izuku: Eri, go to your room and play a video game.
Eri:b..but dad..!
Eri flinched as she saw Izuku's eyes grow hard again, his smile never leaving.
Izuku:Eri, go to your room. This is grown-up talk. Someone will get you when this is over.
Eri will never again say she doesn't love her father. But right here, right now? She was a little scared by him making her walk fast to her room; everyone noticed the tear threatening to escape her eye.
kyoka: Was that really the right way to ask her that?
Izuku: kyoka Does it look like I am anywhere near being in the right state of mind to care about my fucking tone? So to me, a favor since I don't even know why you are here, shut up.
*Izuku said coldly, Yes, Kyoka could beat Izuku quite easily with her having all the experience and actual power, but at that moment she felt so small and took a small breath of relief when his eyes left her and went to Momo.*
Izuku: Now momo, explain just what the fuck did you do.
Momo: Can I sit down at least?
*Izuku nodded slowly as they all sat down with Momo shifting slightly in her seat, extremely uncomfortable with the gaze Tsuyu and Izuku were giving her. With a deep breath, she began.
Momo: It happened a few weeks ago or months ago. I can't really remember the date right now. Anyway, Iida came in saying things about that fictional arranged marriage my father has agreed to.
Izuku: Momo, I don't give...
Momo, please, at least let me tell you how it all happened before anything else. That's all I ask.
Momo said it in a pathetic tone. He was so close to the edge he could taste it, so close to letting his hatred and anger consume him and make him scream, insult, and absolutely humiliate the woman in front of him. That is, until he felt the soft hand of Tsuyu on top of his. He looked at her, giving him a worried look, making him sigh, and figuratively walked away from the edge.
Izuku:continue....
Zuku said with gritted teeth as Momo continued.
Momo: Thank you; he insulted you; he said you were faking your back injury when he said that I just saw red! I was so angry, I screamed i don't even remember what, but I do remember that I told him you had 8 plates. And he...
Izuku connected the dots.
Zuku sucked in a breath as he pinched the bridge of his nose, letting his head fall back against the couch.
Momo: Yes, Izuku, I am....
Izuku:no.
Momo:but i...
Izuku: I said no, momo, no, you're a bullshit apology.
Kyoka: Hey, you don't have to be so cold; it was an accident!!
Kyoka glared at Izuku, who slowly pulled his head back up and looked at Kyoka with his uncaring eyes.
Izuku: I don't remember giving you permission to speak, but fine. Accident? You say accident, but does that mean the consequences will magically go away? Because of Momo's little slip
Zuku said the last word with all the venom he could muster.
Izuku: My family is in danger, and unlike you, we are not heroes. We are civilians; Tsuyu hasn't done any training in almost 10 years, and I'm disabled. Care to think about what would happen if, say, a fucking Todomomo lover finds us? Don't even bother. I'll tell you the same thing that happened all those years ago: the fucking fire.
*Immediately, Izuku squeezed Tsuyu's hand to give her the support she so desperately needed as Kyoka looked down. This should've made Lzuku stop. Kyoka pissed him off, and with everything Izuku needed and an outlet, Kyoka will be that outlet.*
Izuku: want to talk again, huh? Want to go in and defend the undefendable? Momo fucked up. There are no two ways about it. The only problem is that, like always, when I'm involved with someone from UA, my family is the one that gets hurt. So do me a favor and listen to what I said in the begining shut.THE.FUCK!.UP!!!
Zuku said, getting up and glaring at Kyoka, who didn't dare look back up.
Izuku: Now both of you get out and grab Eri. I'll see her on Friday and get out.
Momo: But Izuku, please...
Izuku: I SAID NO MOMO!! You don't get to say "you're sorry" as if that will make everything go away. Aren't you listening? How many times do I have to say it to get through? You put my family in danger!! This is all your fault, Momo; there's nothing you can say that will make this anger go away!
*Izuku took a deep breath as he felt Tsuyu hugging his back and hiding her face in his back. *Izuku took some deep breaths, calming down.
Izuku:now. Get out. I'm in no condition to see you right now. I'm in even less condition to take care of Eri. I need time to calm down, and your being here won't cure that, so get Eri and leave.
*Momo nodded softly, getting up and going up stairs. After a bit, she came down with a slightly puffy eye. Eri, who hugged her father, lzuku hugged her back in the back of his mind. He felt guilt for making his daughter cry, but he couldn't deal with that. Now he'll deal with it on Saturday. Today he had to concentrate on Tsuyu and his safety.
Eri: I love you, dad. Be safe.
Zuku kissed her forehead and rested his head on top of her.
Izuku: I love you too, Eri. I'm sorry. Please be safe. Things are going to get worse before they get better.
Eri nodded softly before leaving. Zuku closed the door and locked it. Call it paranoia; call it overprotectiveness. izuku didn't care izuku put a chair under the handle so it couldn't be opened by the outside while tsuyu wasn't that far behind closing all the windows and curtains once they finished they sat softly on the couch tsuyu hiding her face in the crook of izuku's neck while izuku holds her tighter as he grabbed the remote and turned on the TV to find anything to distract them until night time*
Izuku: I love you, Tsuyu.
Tsuyu: I love you too, Izuku, no matter what. We're in this together.
Izuku: Yes, together...
*Tsuyu didn't see Izuku's face; she didn't see his eyes losing their shine a bit as he began to let his old habits take hold of him.*
Izuku "I'll protect her even if it costs me my life."
