chapter 9
Meanwhile, with Eri
*After she waved goodbye to her aunty, she walked to class. Once she made it, she saw that girl again. Minoka sago, she was talking with another classmate. Eri took a deep breath and walked up to her.
Eri, hey, Sago San
Minoka looked at Eri, confused, before realization hit her.
Minoka: Ah, right, I'm not in America anymore. You guys are big on last names. Just call me Minoka. It's weird when people call me by my last name.
Eri:got it
Eri looked at the girl who was talking to Minoka before her.
Eri:hello I'm Eri Yaoyorozu.
Kotsuzui:kotsuzui nusutto
Eri: Are you part of the club?
Kotsuzui:one of his founding members, I never believed the bullshit the others believed Deku was and still is my hero.
Eri, if you don't mind me asking, why do you admire him so much?
Kotsuzui: I met him one day years ago. I managed to escape my bullies quickest assholes that called my quirk a villainous quirk, but that's a story for another day anyway. Ibumped into him to make a long story short, and since it's a very personal story that I would like to keep to myself, he helped me see the beauty of my quirk, the benefits of it, and how I could be a hero. He was the first person apart from my mother that told me that
*Kotsuzui had a small smile, remembering the event like it was yesterday as Eri looked a bit more happy that her father's legacy didn't only live on in her.*
Later
*We see her and her class talking about themselves as their professor walked inside the room and quickly went quiet as Professor Ryoken started writing on the board in big, bold letters.*
Board:battle training
*The students gasped, already feeling excitement for what the day will bring.*
Ryoken: Alright everyone, today we will see what you all can do in a fight, but I won't be the one teaching you. No, that honor goes to the current number one hero, Lemillion!
The door opened, and Mirió walked inside with a bit of a shy smile.
*As the students started to cheer for him, all except one who looked at Mirió with nothing but hatred, if you were to ask them who they hated the most for momo, it's shoto Todoroki, for izuku, it would be denki kaminari, and for little Eri, that honor goes to Mirio Togata.*
Flashback year 1 of Izuku in prison
*A lot can change in a year. Momo and Todoroki started to date. Class A was getting their licenses, but what matters most was Eri. Over the last year, she missed her daddy, but her uncle Mirió was there for a whole year. He would be there for her and make her see that Izuku really was "guilty," and slowly but surely it was working.
Place UA Eri's room
Eri: No no no!!
Eri screamed with tears in her face as she refused to give up the last momentum Izuku gave her.
Momo:eri honey....
Eri: I said no, my daddy gave this to me. I'm not going to give it up. Get out!!!
Eri kept bawling as Momo wanted to comfort her, but Mirio put a hand on her shoulder.
Mirió: Let me talk to her alone.
Momo looked at her daughter for a moment before leaving. Eri kept crying as Mirió slowly walked up to her and hugged her, putting her on his chest.
Mirió:Eri It pains me to see you like this. It really does. You're a little kid. You shouldn't be dealing with this stuff. It's all that bastard Izuku's fault.
Eri: But he's still my daddy; he would never hurt me, and he gave me this necklace to keep me safe!
Eri kept crying in his chest as Mirió rubbed Eri's back.
Mirió:Eri I saw the videos in which Izuku was working on an overhaul. He was part of the people that cause you so much pain and are still causing you so much pain. In order to move on, you need to let go.
*Eri's whole body was shaking as she kept crying but nodded slowly. Mirió took Eri's necklace, gave her a kiss on the forehead, and walked away.*
Present
"He was the one who convinced me; he was the one who made me hate him; he was the one who took away my necklace!
Eri's pen broke as she kept glaring at Mirió, who finally looked at her, but then looked another way for a moment. Eri saw shame in his eyes, but it didn't matter to her. Eri looked down at the necklace.
It wasn't the original, but a copy Eri bought since Mirió destroyed the original necklace. Eri holds the apple as her hatred grows.
Eri: He will pay...
*We see everyone finished changing as Satsuki looked around.*
Mirió: Now, is everyone here?!
Satsuki: Eri is still not here, Kero.
Mirió, huh, then where is she?
Eri:I'm here I'm here; it took longer to put my suit on than I thought it would.
Mirió, you look adorable, Eri. I love the cape!
Mirió said that while making his cape ride with the wind, Eri had to force herself to smile.
Eri:Thank you for the compliment.
*Eri said through gritted teeth that Mirió could see the hatred in Eri's eyes and gave her a sad small, but Eri ignored him as she walked to her place in line.*
Mirió: Alright, so today you'll be doing battle training. Who's excited?!
*The class started talking amongst themselves while Mirió tried to calm everyone down. Eri just crossed her arms and waited for everyone to quiet down.*
Mirió: Alright, everyone, calm down now. Today you will be put into groups of two. Based on a random draw, one team will be the villains while the other will be the heroes. The villains will be guarding the bomb while the heroes will be trying to either capture the bomb or the villain team. Now any questions?!
A lot of students raised their hands, but Mirió turned around.
Mirió: No questions, fantastic! Now let's see who will be with whom!
*The huge TV in the arena turned on, and it looked like a roulette wheel that spun and landed on the villains; pictures came on the screen.*
Mirió; fantastic! Our first villains of the day will be Eri Yaoyorozu and Kotsuzui Nusutto!
Nusutto hugged Eri's shoulder, smiling at her.
Nusutto: fantastic It will be a good way to create a better bond.
Eri: I look forward to working for you.
Eri said with a small smile as Mirió coughed to get their attention, much to Eri's annoyance.
Mirio: Now let's see who our heroes will be, shall we?
*The huge TV of the arena turned on again, and the roulette was spun again and landed on the heroes; pictures came on the screen.*
Mirio:fantastic The heroes shall be Satsuki Asui and Tiranno Inishie. This is going to be a thrilling match; I can feel it! Now, villains, grab the bomb and walk inside the building. You have 15 minutes to get ready!
The girls nodded and walked inside with Nusutto holding the bomb.
Nusutto: So what's the plan?
Eri: it's simple Your quirk lets you absorb bones, and Tiranno has bones all over his body. Hell, his head is a T-Rex bone. This couldn't be a worse fight for him.
Nusutto: What about Satsuki?
Eri: Hm, I'll take care of you. You worry about the boy.
Nusutto: gotcha I'm kind of surprised you were able to figure out stuff like that so quickly.
Eri: My father loved to analyze quirks; he even wrote books about them. I must have over 30 of them in my room.
Nusutto: No way, books written by your father? Oh, you have to bring some for us to see them!
Are you really interested in them?
*Nusutto nodded vigorously. She took a wallet out and took out a folded piece of paper, giving it to Eri. Eri opened it up and saw Nusutto's quirk in great detail and all she could use it for.*
Nusutto: He gave me that when we met; he wrote that in 10 minutes, and I just found it cool!
Nusutto said, smiling brightly as Eri gave the paper back, sharing Nusutto's smile as she hid the paper back in her wallet.
Eri: Sure, I'll bring it soon. Now let's concentrate.
Mirio: HEROES, YOU CAN NOW ENTER!
Eri: I'll hide the bomb. You go take care of Tirana.
Nusutto: You got it!
Nusutto ran away to the entrance while Eri took the bomb and went in to hide.
Later, with Eri
*We see Eri walking out of the bomb room and walking to the staircase. Eri's step got slower as she crotched down, dodging a dart that stuck to the wall.*
Eri: Satsuki Asui quirk frog, kind of cheating that you're using the weapon I told you to use.
Eri turned around as Satsuki became visible, holding a blowpipe with poisonous darts.
Satsuki: It's your fault for telling me this; I wouldn't have thought about it. I may not have my sister's tongue ability, but I do have something better: a stronger version of frog poisons, for example, the golden poison frog. I'm sure you've heard of it.
Eri: You've told me it's poison and can kill up to 10 people; it would only take the size of 2 grains of salt to kill 1
Satsuki: Correct, so give up, villain, or don't, so I can have my revenge for killing my wife!
Eri, Man Satsu really is committed to the role; eh, I'll play along."
Eri, you killed your wife?! Oh no, no, she was my lover. It was you who killed her and manipulated her into believing I was using her!
Satsuki:lies! Lies, I say believe what you want; your days of terror are over!
*Both looked at each other, making eye contact before Eri let a giggle escape her lips. Soon enough, both girls were laughing at their antics.*
Satsuki: Alright, alright, time to get serious. You've lost this match before, even...
*Satsuki fell through the floor while she was talking. Eri rewinded the floor, turning it back into cement dust. While Satsuki was falling, Eri held on to the window as she rewinded time again, putting the floor back to normal with a smirk.
Eri: And here, I thought villains were supposed to give the monologue.
Mirio: Satsuki Asui and Tiranno Inishie are unconscious, so the villainous team wins!
*Eri smiled as she walked down, passing by the robots that are taking the heroes to recovery girl. Eri met up with Nusutto; she looked like she took quite the beating but was smiling and gave her a high five.*
Eri:what happened?
Nusutto: Well, you were right that I could basically take away his quirk, but the dude was still a buff, man. I mean he had a six-pack and knew how to use it.
Nusutto said, laughing, making Eri chuckle as they walked to the observation room.
Later
Eri watched as the rest of her class fought. She could feel Mirio glancing at her every once in a while, every time it would piss her off more when it was time to leave. Eri was the first to the door.
Mirio: Eri, do you mind staying behind for a second?
Eri: Actually, I do mind quite a bit; I have things to do.
Mirio: I'm afraid it's not an option.
Eri, you are a special guest, not a teacher, and you hold no power over me.
Eri said coldly, and the class was shocked to see Eri talking like that to the current number 1.
Mirio:Eri please...
Eri: I owe you nothing. You took the one thing I had left of him. I will never forgive you for that.
Eri was coldly holding the replacement necklace with a sad expression as she walked away.
Later
*We see Eri in a park slowly pushing herself back and forth on the swing.*
Eri: He used to sneak me out of the hospital to take me here.
Eri started to hum as her eyes started to get watery, remembering her father and her running around the place playing tag.
Eri: Hear this song and remember...
Eri watches as Izuku captures the younger her, making her giggle.
Eri, soon you'll be home with me.
*Tears started to fall from her face as she could see Izuku's mouth move, but no words came out; they didn't need to. She must have relived this memory a hundred times. He was telling her how much he loved her.
Eri froze when the memory moved on, and it felt like they were looking at her, almost mocking her, making her bitter and holding the swing tighter.
Mirió: You know you're a real hard person to find. Eri yaoyorozu
Eri's mood got worse. Not only did Mirió look for her, but he's here. Here's her special place, a place that was meant only for her and her father. She looked up at Mirió, showing nothing but hatred in her eyes.
Mirió: I know you hate me. Believe me, I know I hate myself too.
Eri, if you're only here for some self-pity bullshit, leave this place; it's not meant for you.
Eri said in a low tone, but Murió just nodded his head.
Mirio: Not yet, at least not until I can give you something—not something to make up for my mistakes, but something that belongs to your family in the first place.
Mirio took out a piece of his hair and presented it to Eri.
Mirio, Eri Midoriya Yaoyorozu, will you accept OFA?
*Eri looked at Mirio, and then at the single strand of hair in Mirio's hand, the second Mirio blinked, he fell on the floor. He opened his eyes in shock, blood coming down his nose as Eri used the swing to hit him in the face. Eri put her foot right at Mirio's neck to make sure he didn't try to do anything.*
Eri: It's a good thing mother insisted on me using my high heels today. Now you can listen and listen good. You absolute piece of sh*t. I would rather go back to overhaul than to ever do anything related to you. If I could i would use my quirk and rewind you out of existence, but I won't since the father I remember wouldn't want me to do that, so do me a favor. Leave me alone, leave my mother alone, and leave my whole family alone! Stop acting like you're still a hero. Do not be the monster that manipulated me; be the monster that took away the only thing I had left of my father, so leave me alone.
*To add insult to injury Eri spit on Mirio's face before walking away, absolutely angry.
Later, with Mirió
*We see him walking inside his hero office with a depressed sighed, rolled-up tissue paper stuck up his nose. As he sat down and looked out the window, he heard the door opening, sighing, knowing who it was.*
Toshinori: Mirió, my boy, how are you?
Mirió: She said no to Shinori.
Toshinori;no?! Are you sure?
Mirio turned around, showing his broken nose.
Mirió: extremely sure, and also, why the hell are you wet? You got any idea what the price is going to be to replace the rug?
Toshinori: Would it make you feel better if I said it's sweat?
Mirio: It would not
Toshinori: Then sorry about that. I tried to see if I could activate the embers again. I know there are still embers in there. I can feel them.
Murió sighed and looked at his mentor with a smile full of pity.
Mirio: The previous users have a sick sense of humor; letting you use some of them but blocking you from using them is just cruel. I wished they would let me talk to them and sort this out.
Toshinori, so do I, my boy, so do I, but we're getting off track. If Eri is not going to accept it by herself, we must find another way for her to take it.
Mirio: And how do you expect we to do that?
Toshinori: Her parents, we have to convince either Izuku or Momo to take it.
Mirio:. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. How the hell are we going to convince them? Momo hates our guts, and no one knows where Izuku even is, and even if we did, Izuku has a restraining order on you. You can't even be 100 feet's away from him.
Toshinori: We can't, yes, that's true, but someone like your fiance Nejire, now that's another story.
Murió:nejire She didn't really do anything to Izuku, and that could be our ticket or our damnation since she didn't do anything to help, but I don't see any other way around it.
