This chapter is kind of killy so... if you don't like death and stuff, skip this chapter.  If you decide to read this chapter (which I will work harder on then the next one) then you can skip the next one.

I was eating in the eating hall with the others in my group (including Sara) when Marcus came up to me and said, "Zoey, I have something important to tell you."  I was about to ask what it was, when the warning bell sounded.

"Everyone to the south exit!"  Sara said, standing up, "Chaki is attacking us!"

Marcus, Mary, Ben, Riley, and I ran with Sara and the others in our group towards the south doors, knowing that we would be going into our first battle.  According to what Sara told us a few days ago, we were to stay with the others in our group whenever possible, only splitting up if necessary.

Even though we had just gotten outside, there were already many dead bodies littering the ground.  Machines were shooting hundreds of arrows at once and i saw people, some from my own group, crumple to the ground left and right.  I stayed near my brother and friends, so I was able to spot the Chakan running towards Ben.  He was fighting another warrior, so he hadn't noticed his new attacker!  I ran towards them and stabbed my sword through the Chakan's leg, causing her to become useless in battle without killing her.  Even though I knew this was war, I couldn't bring myself to kill anyone. 

I looked around frantically, trying to find everyone in the crowd of Dulians.  Thankfully, we had won the battle!  Well... if you can call that winning. 

 I walked towards where Ben and Marcus were, but I couldn't find Mary! Now that I thought about it, I hadn't seen her during the whole second half of the battle! Was she... dead? Wait, short brown hair!  That was her!  I ran towards her, embraced her and told her, in between sobs, that I was afraid that I had lost her.
