Wouldn't Gliding be Faster?

You sized up the bard.  He wore a green beret and had a Cecilia in his dark blue hair. Two elegant plaits with lightened tips framed his pale, mischievous face. His white, button-up shirt had long sleeves that were slightly ruffled at the edges. He also had a black and white striped bow just above a green gem on his shirt. He wore a leather corset-like piece around his stomach, with pretty gold buttons.

You especially liked his pants; they were a verdant green with gold embroidery and were a little poufy. Venti also wore white stocking with gold diamonds down the sides. Overall, his appearance was rather feminine, but you liked it. He was better dressed than you were, anyhow.

Venti gave a cheeky smile. "Hello? Teyvat to Y/n? Perhaps you are taken aback by my simply marvellous fashion sense!"

You redden in surprise, completely flustered. "S-Sorry... I was just lost in thought. I didn't mean to weird you out or anything," you apologize, but soon realise Venti did not care.

"It's alright," Venti smiled and turned back to look over Mondstadt. His cape rippled like water in the breeze.

"The sunset is truly beautiful, isn't it?" you ask Venti, leaning on the stone balcony.

"It is. I've seen it many times before, and never gotten bored," he sighed.

You and Venti gazed at the sunset together for a while. The last brushes of golden light disappeared under the horizon, and a small shiver went down your spine. Venti turned to you. "You should probably be going," he said, "you don't want to be out after dark."

"I know," you sigh, having heard that lecture from Margaret thousands of times, "but what is there to be afraid of?"

"Some people in the City of Freedom take advantage of what it stands for- Freedom. You never know what's lurking out there," Venti laughed half-heartedly.

"You sound like you're speaking from experience," you reply.

"Mm, kind of," Venti muttered, "why don't I come with you to your home? It's not like I have anything else to do."

"Oh. Okay, sure!" you agree brightly. You hadn't expected the kind-natured bard to be so amiable.

You turn to away from the balcony and start to walk to the stairs. Venti didn't follow. You frown and look at him.

"Wouldn't gliding be faster?" Venti asked with a cheeky grin on his face.

"I lost my Wind Glider on an expedition, and besides, are we even allowed to glide around Mondstadt?" you ask.

"That's not a problem! I see people gliding all the time around Mondstadt. It's quite a fun pastime for young children," Venti reassured you.

"I still don't have wings," you say, exasperated.

"Here, I've got another pair," Venti grinned, and handed you them.

"Wings of Azure Wind," you gasp. You had owned these before you lost them. It was a gift from the Knights of Favonius for being so popular and generous towards the townsfolk.

"I'm glad you like them," Venti smiled.

You and Venti stood on the stone and looked down at Mondstadt. "My house is over there," you said, pointing to the left side of town. Venti nodded. You both jumped and deployed your Wind Gliders.

"Yahoo!"

You turned to Venti, who was having lots of fun. His Wind Glider was see-through and the colour generally associated with Anemo power. After a while of relaxing gliding, you dropped at your house.

"My, my, your house looks great!" Venti said in awe.

"It's pretty small," you say, a bit confused.

"Well, for a bard like me, I only have enough Mora to rent out a teeny-tiny apartment for a couple of days," Venti said, adding a sheepish giggle at the end.

"D-Do you want to stay with me tonight? I've got room for two people, my mum's an adventurer. She's travelling around Liyue right now," you offer.

Venti's eyes grew to the size of Mora. You could see sparkles in his eyes, even though it was nighttime. "Really?" he asked, "no rent fee at all?"

You giggle. "No, nothing. I'd be happy to have you."

Venti blinked. "Th-Thank you," he said, and followed you inside. Then, in an undertone you couldn't hear,

"I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. I did gift her with a Vision, after all."
