Truth or Dare
Connor clasped his hands together, "Alright, Elders!" He announced to the group of gathered young-men before him.
There were a few murmurs before they all met his gaze.
"Thank you," Connor sighed before nodding, "As its obviously clear that it is my turn to pick the game this week-"
"I thought it was Poptarts'?" James called out.
Connor's clasped hands tightened and he bit his tongue to keep him from uttering some rude mannerisms at James, "Oh?"
Chris sheepishly scratched the back of his head, "Oh- um- I wasn't going to mention it, but-"
"Well, I'm already up here, so-"
"But it's Poptarts' turn?" James defended the much shorter elder who sat beside him on the floor of the meeting room, all the spaces on the couch taken up, most of the elders sat on the floor.
Connor gritted his teeth into a fake smile. This couldn't happen.
He couldn't allow this to happen.
He had to be the one to choose this week's Friday-Night game.
For particular reasons too.
His gaze landed anywhere in the room but on the brunette who was carelessly reading a book on the arm of the couch.
Perfect hair, perfect- cutting it short, perfect everything.
Kevin Price was the definition of perfection by example of Connor McKinley's mind.
Hell dream after hell dream and Connor finally found himself submitting- though he could hardly do anything about it.
It was against everything he stood for to make any moves on Kevin-
That being said, it was against everything that he stood for- meaning that if he wasn't the one to subject himself to making a move...it didn't really count, right?
Point and case?
Truth or dare.
A magnificent game played for ages by pining teens who want nothing more than to spill their guts and fill their hearts.
If someone could simply dare Connor to make a move on Price, it would be perfect.
Therefor, he had to be the one to pick tonight's game.
After all, Elder Price left within the week to come, his mission would be over, and so would any chance of him and McKinley.
This had to work.
"We should let Elder Poptarts choose." James murmured.
The group around him began to mutter their agreement.
"Elders! I'm- I'm shocked!" Connor gasped.
The group around him looked confused.
"Are you- accusing my of lying? Of-" Sinning- shit- I forgot about that.
Connor shifted this over a few times in his mind before realizing that he'd screwed himself over, "Of- sinning?" He cleared his throat before stepping down, "I suppose I should not make an example of that, and..." Frick rules, they can go Heck themselves, "Poptarts can choose the game." He sighed in defeat.
Poptarts grinned happily, "Spin the bottle!"
Connor choked, "Excuse me, Elder?"
"Nice." Kevin snorted.
"I'm loyal to my queen, my apologies." Arnold refereed to Naba.
"I mean-" James began.
The other elders gasped and sputtered in response.
Connor took this as a chance, "Let's just go with truth or dare, how about?"
The gathered group murmured in agreement before Connor began to shoo them into a circle.
"Okay!" Poptarts chirped happily.
Connor subtly moved to sit near Kevin, who stayed stubbornly on the couch with his book. McKinley sat on the floor, to the right of his legs.
"Oo! Oo! Oo! Can I started?" Arnold gasped.
"I- don't see why not." Connor smiled kindly.
"I- uh- I dare- uh- I-" Arnold thought for a moment.
"You have to ask someone first, Elder." Connor reminded him gently.
"I...oh, 'course!" Arnold giggled, "Best friend! Best friend!"
Kevin looked up from his book and cocked a brow.
"Truth or Dare?" Arnold squeaked.
"Truth. I- don't want to know what might happen if I choose dare." Kevin sighed and closed his book, bookmarking it.
"Fair." Connor snorted, and unbeknownst to him, Kevin smiled at his reaction.
"Do you- do you like someone?" Arnold gasped as if he hadn't been the one to just ask the question.
Kevin flushed.
"Remember, l-lying is a sin, Elders." Connor stuttered.
"Erm- Yes." Kevin shifted uncomfortably and the room erupted into gasps and murmurs.
Arnold squealed, "Who is it? Do they live around here?"
"I answered the truth." Kevin mumbled, "James-"
"Kevin!" Connor scolded, "No first-name uses-
"You just called me Kevin, Connor." Kevin snorted.
Connor flushed at the sound of his name on Kevin's tongue and was at a loss of words long enough for Kevin to continue.
"Truth or Dare?"
Janes thought a moment, "Dare."
"Let Poptarts sit in your lap for the rest of the night." Kevin smirked.
Both the other boys blushed and made eye-contact before Poptarts bashfully crawled onto the other's lap.
James glared at Kevin, "Truth or Dare?"
"Can you ask the asker?" Arnold frowned.
"I'd like to see how this plays." Elder Shmelder remarked and got a murmur if agreements.
"Dare." Kevin glared.
James looked around Kevin before spotting Connor as a victim, he smirked, "Allow Elder McKinley to sit in your lap for the rest of the night."
Kevin's face grew red and Connor's freckles seemed to darker in color along with the rest of his face.
Neither boy moved.
"Go on." James nodded.
Connor slowly got to his feet before pausing at Kevin's side. He cleared his throat and dipped his head, "Elder."
"Elder." Kevin responded with an equal dip of his head.
Connor sat down atop Kevin's legs, crossing his own shorter legs.
Kevin's grip on the couch tightened and he glared down James, "Truth or Dare?"
"I-Is this just a stand off now?" Arnold yelped.
"Truth." James threatened.
"Do you enjoy Poptarts being on your lap? Remember, lying is a sin." Kevin finished cockily and Connor smirked at his knowledge.
"He's a fricking precious nut so of course. Truth or dare?"
"Truth." Kevin spat back.
"You wanted Connor to sit this close to you?" James smirked.
Kevin glared before rolling his eyes, "Admittedly, Yes."
Connor gaped, turning his head to look at Kevin, "E-Excuse- m-me?"
Kevin ignored him terribly, "T-Truth or Dare?"
"Dare." James grinned.
"Show physical affection to Poptarts." Kevin smirked.
The ultimate weapon.
Affection.
The crowd gasped as James awkwardly hugged the boy in front of him, causing the blonde to meekly smile and hug the taller's arms.
"Kiss McKinley, you bicth!" James growled.
"Y-You didn't ask truth or dare!" Kevin sputtered as Connor covered his face with his hands.
The ginger was sure that there was an angel specially looking out for him.
"Truth or Dare!" James yelled.
"T-Truth!" Kevin yelped back.
"Do you want to kiss McKinley?" James tested.
The whole room fell silent.
Kevin balled up the fabric of the couch for what felt like a near solid minute before he sighed quietly, "A-A bit, Yes."
Arnold gasped and squealed.
Kevin moved his hands to cover his face as a lump formed in his throat, he cleared it before tapping Connor on the shoulder, "I'll- Um- can you-?"
"Yes." Connor murmured wistfully before turning around and taking Kevin's hands away from his face to plant a kiss on his lips.
Kevin's eyes went wide before he kissed back.
The room was silent once more as the brunette and ginger met eyes.
"I-I was going to ask if you could get up s-so I could go to the restroom to a-avoid- um- that works- too?" Kevin stuttered out."
"O-Oh." Connor squeaked and looked down, "Sorry-"
"Um- don't be?" Kevin smiled shakily.
Connor gave a hopeful smile back.
"D'aw...best friend..." Arnold cooed.
Kevin scoffed and rolled his eyes.
"Did the district leader just..." Elder Shmelder murmured.
"I-It was a dare!" Connor concluded.
"I didn't hear anyone dare you, Kin." James smirked.
Connor flushed.
His plan had failed.
His plan had failed.
His plan had-
Kevin slipped his hand into Connor's, "Let's let them figure this out, shall we? I'm positive you wouldn't care if we hang around in your room for a bit? Poptarts looks occupied-" He paused to look at the blonde who was staring up lovingly at the jet-haired boy that held him, "Am I Right?"
"Y-Yeah- um- I don't care- let's- go-" Connor responded in flustered disbelief.
Kevin smiled and got up as the rest of the elders sat there, some rocking back and forth, trying to comprehend what had just happened- others simply shrugging as if this was old news.
Connor happily followed the boy ahead of him, fingers intertwined.
Plan succeeded.
