Stop Laughing

(I've looked and looked and looked for fluffy McPriceley Fics and have only found a handful and have read them all- thus I go back to writing my own)

Connor looked at his feet, which gently tapped against the ground as he patiently awaited his turn to present his weekly report to the fellow missionaries.

It had become a thing that they traditionally did now. It started with elder Cunningham sharing how his week went every Friday to soon everyone chipping in, even if it was just a comment or a funny story, or perhaps even a play by play. Regardless, everyone shared wether they wanted to or not, it encouraged being social and exercised their abilities to speak in front of crowds.

However, Connor found this to be quite counterproductive. It was nearing his turn and he was nearly dreading it.

Currently, Elder Church was going into far too much detail on how Elder Poptarts had heroically saved the toast he was cooking from burning. A happening that took 5 seconds but could be explained for five minutes.

Connor was keeping his gaze down, but was particularly trying to avoid the gaze of a particular Kevin Price who sat at the edge of the missionaries, reading a book and looking bored out of his mind.

Connor couldn't blame him, this could get monotonous after awhile.

Connor was soon thrown out of his daze when claps erupted, mostly at the fact that Elder Church had shut up. This meant it was now Connor's turn, and everyone's eyes were expectantly on him. Connor escorted himself to the center of the crowd, clearing his throat, "Well, you see...my week has been...fairly simple, about the same," things were going fine, "All is running smooth, I've gotten most, if not all, of our papers filled out for us to take that field trip downtown,"

There was a murmur Of excitement and Connor took this moment of distraction to shoot a glance at Kevin.

And there it was.
Kevin was smirking at Connor, a judgmental squint in his eyes, so it seemed to Connor.

This immediately flustered Connor and infuriated him, he looked away, "A-and..." He had to come up with a more serious topic to intrigue Kevin instead of invite him to make fun of Connor for whatever given reason, "...And I um- got around to...t-to- to uh- to uh-" Kevin was smirking wider and Connor's fists balled up, "To- to cleaning the- um- kitchen- which sh-should he a weekly thing o-of people doing that- a-and- uHM-" Connor's voice cracked and he heard a snicker from Kevin, making Connor's face go completely red, "a-AND uH- I jUst uM- tHe wEeK wAs nOrma-"

Kevin let out a quiet laugh.

"WHAT could be SO interesting KEVIN!?" Connor finally snapped, turning on his heel to glare at Kevin, feeling his heart skip a beat at how surprised the boy looked, causing him to run a hand through his perfectly-balanced brunette hair.

"Oh? Was I being too loud?" Kevin sounded slightly amused.

"To get him this worked up, I'd say so." Poptarts blinked in shock at how the district leader had seemingly jumped from a one to a ten.

"Sorry, carry on." Kevin nodded and the other missionaries murmured in agreement.

Connor shook his head, "No," he took a pace forward, "No, No, I want answers!"

Kevin paused, "Okay, then provide the questions."

"I swear to gosh, Kevin! You get me so worked up!" Connor growled, getting more frustrated as this made Kevin smile.

"I can't understand why, Elder McKinley." Kevin shrugged, still thoroughly amused, "What are you upset about?"

Connor sighed sharply and pinched the bridge of his nose before putting his hands on his hips, "Every week. We share. Every week. You read."

"I didn't hear of a rule saying I couldn't re-"

"But then when I start talking, you put your book down a-and just laugh, and stare at me! Smirking and- and jeering and- it- it really irks me!" Connor threw his hands into the air.

Kevin looked surprised before frowning, "I'm sorry, but- what? That's- you make it sound terrible."

"It is! I don't want you making fun of me, Elder Price!"

Kevin paused before laughing, "Oh my lord, Con!"

Connor flushed at the nickname, and the fact that Kevin was using his first name period.

"I'm not making fun of you!" Kevin chuckled.

"Th-then what are you doing, huh?" Connor suddenly felt smaller than he already was.

"Look at you, you're an adorable, little flustered ginger with your freckles popping out across the red features you're exhibiting right now- how could I not smile at that?" Kevin's own face grew red as he contemplated the fact that he'd said this out loud, he tried to laugh it off.

Connor felt dizzy and he wasn't sure if his heart was beating or not, "Wh-what? Y-you think I'm- ...cute?"

There was some whispers and some squeals from the crowd, mainly from Arnold, and both Connor and Kevin shrank down from where they were.

"Do you own a mirror?" Kevin finally put in.

"Poptarts. Support." Connor choked out as he began to fall.

Chris quickly rushed behind Connor, holding his arms out as if this had been practiced, which, it probably had been, and caught Connor as he swooned back.

Kevin didn't know what to do with all the attention that was now pressed on him and the swooning ginger so he just cleared his throat and began to back away, "Well...then...I guess I'll look forward to next week's sharing- and, with the info you have, I hope you do as well, Elder McKinley." He nodded swiftly before hurrying to exit.

If pupils could make the shapes of hearts, Connor's would be taking over the entirety of his eyes.
