Special Categories: Masterpiece Opening Scene

So, I'm reading this opening chapter, enjoying how literary it is, enjoying the imagery, enjoying the world-building heaps. It was cool.

And then I get to the last scene and my heart almost stopped.

Now, I'm not someone who knows werewolf lore that much. I don't read that subgenre often. Nevertheless, that was the first time I've ever read or seen what happens at the end of that chapter. This was truly fascinating.

There was one other opening that captivated me as deeply but the ending in chapter 1 of KWAMI was like icing on the cake. Great job!

Special Categories: Favorite Masterpiece on Wattpad 

US-Forever by ramyam2000

For this special story that has touched the hearts of so many on Wattpad already, I instantly like Riya, the lead character. She's successful, smart, and beautiful. She's also a cosmopolitan Indian professional in Mumbai who was about to begin a lesbian relationship, as premised in the description, which was so exciting for me. I couldn't wait to read more about that life and that character.

What I'd recommend is beginning with a bang. The brief summary of what she found her husband doing was the juiciest part of the chapter. I would've liked that scene to have been expanded and either open the story as a prologue or be an immersive flashback. The scene with Annie is sweet but it's missing all the conflict inherent in that brief summary.
