Hanry smirked. "Well hello there, my love. Like me now, Kari? I told you you'd go out with me eventually." Henry laughed cruelly, and Kid's hands tightened into fist.

     Kari blushed then nodded, her eyes filled with a controlled sort of emotion. Kumi turned around, looked down, clenched her fists and held back tears that threatened to fall, and her hands trembled. "If- if all the same to you," she started, voice cracking. "I'll- I'll be going." Kumi ran off outside, upset at the situation Kid followed her for answers.

     "Hey! Pssst! Kumi!" Kid hissed, snapping his fingers.

    Kumi looked around. "Who--" she then noticed Kid and turned back to Kari and sniffled, holding back her tears which was harder then ever.

     "What happened to Kari? What did he do to her?" Kid demanded, spinning Kumi back around to face him and looked her directly in the eyes. "Tell me. Please, we can fix it. Just tell me."

     Kumi sniffled then tears rolled down her face. "I- I didn't have a choice. I- I swear I didn't want to mix that elixir in Kari's drink. Honest, but H- Henry threatened me s-so.." Kumi sniffled.

     Kid sighed, hating himself for making a girl cry. He softened his tone a little. "What does it do? Hmm? Don't cry, we'll fix this."

     Kumi calmed down then explained what the elixir does. "It basically MAKES you fall in love with the next thing you see... And that person controls you forever or until the elixir wears off, which is RARE!" Kumi sighed. "This is all my fault, we were best friends way back when... And look at what I did to her."

     "What's the antidote?" Kid asked.

    Kumi shrugged. "I don't think there is one..."

     "There has to be!! I mean, could you tell me what's IN it? I know some people who can probably save her. If you tell me, you'll have redeemed yourself. You just have to give it to her after we make it, mmkay?" Kid suggested. "Just tell me what's in it."

     Kumi nodded. "Okay, I'll be right back..." Kumi ran and got a bottle. "Here. There is some left in it. The ingredants you don't know, plus they aren't listed. But with the right tech you should be able to figure it out."

     "Thanks alot. Do you want to come? We could use your help." Kid said, nodding and taking the bottle carefully.

    Kumi nodded. "Anything to help Kari th---" Kumi stopped, remembering that Kid didn't know Kari's gang name.

     "Kari the what? That Henry's a jerk, did you know he called her a killer when she walked in?" Kid said, walking back towards the Tower, Kumi following.

    Kumi winced at what Kid said. "That- that's because 'Kari the Killer' was her gang nickname. Once she had a target to kill she would never stop until the job was done." Kumi sighed and looked down sadly.

    "She's different now, I know she is." Kid said desperately. "She wouldn't do that now. She was just taking care of Savvannah, that's all." Kumi sighed.

     "Back then she would. Without a second thought or mercy." Kumi shuttered. "I'm glad she's been doing well." After a while Kid and Kumi arrived at Titan's Tower.

       "Yeah, she is. Be careful, Savannah's kind of dangerous sometimes." Kid warned. Savvy was notorious for hugging as hard as Starfire.

     "Where's Kari?" Savvy demanded. "And who is she? Kid, explain. Now."

     "I- I'm Kumi." Kumi stuttered.

     "Oh, okay. Kid! Answer me! And come in." Savvy said, standing back so they could walk in. She closed the doors behind them and crossed her arms sternly.

    Kumi looked at Savvy then explained what happened. Everyone heard and started to help out anyway they could. Meanwhile Henry and Kari were going on a stealing spree.

     "Attention! Attention!" Yelled the TV. "Two unknown robbers have just pulled off the crime of the century!!! Taking 1 billion dollars from the most guarded bank in Jump City! We have some footage and a photo but nothing was confirmed." The TV kept going. Kid was shocked as he saw a familiar blur in the photo. His heart broke.

     Savvy's eyes narrowed dangerously. She growled deep in her throat. "Run tests on that elixir. NOW."

     "Titans, get busy!" Robin called, and everyone rushed to their positions.

     "Kid." Savannah stood in front of him, angry. "You were supposed to look after her. But, then again, my mother told me that promises are never kept. That was a long time ago, but the world exploded after that. I guess she was right, no matter how much I hoped she wasn't." Savannah walked away, shaking her head, the disappointment dripping from her voice.

      "It's going to take nothing less than success to get Savannah back up again. It'll be alright, Kid, she's just... had quite a past." Superman said, resting his hand on Kid's shoulder. "Don't take it personally, but avoid disappointing her again." He looked back over his shoulder. "She trusted you. We all did."

     "None of this explains why she went where she did. She was asking for disaster," Batman said angrily. He stalked off to examine the elixir with the others.

     Kumi helped as much as she could to help the Titans find the cure. That night Kumi nor Kid slept. Neither did Kari.

     "ALERT ALERT!!!" The alarm sounded in Titans Tower.

     Kari was in a jail setting a select few free from their cells. she had killed the officers that stood in her way. "I told them to move," she said to Henry who was close behind, "but they would not listen so I cut them down." Blood dripped off her famous sword arm.

    "It's okay." Henry smirked then kissed her cheek. "It was their own fault. Now go get the gang would ya?" Kari nodded and set their comrades free.

     "KARI IS BACK!!" Called one with black hair and emerald green eyes.

     "Well, it's about darn time Kari!" Called the other with dark brown eyes and dirty blond hair.

     "Lynx, Matt." Henry said with a smirk then leading them outside.

     "I'm not going. I. Am. Not. Going. SOMEBODY has to solve this, and I'll do everything I can to do it." Savannah whirled back around to help Bruce and Catrina break the chemical down. They had found several components, and were trying to see if there were any more before they began searching down the individual antidotes.

    Kumi saw what the three were doing then stepped in. "What if you do this?" She pointed to the answer they have been searching for this whole time! The sad part was Kumi didn't even know it AND that it was SO simple! They were simply too smart to see it!

      "Leave me alone," Savannah snapped, pulling away from Kumi. She looked at what she was pointing at. "Bruce, Cat, can you guys-"

     "We're on it," came the reply. Catrina's voice was a serious as her father's, and dangerous enough to make people flinch.

     "Good job, Kumi!" Robin praised, a rare occurence. "Will you help them?" Savannah was focused on her work, not hearing a word that went on.

     "Seriously?! It was THAT simple?!" Catrina's eyes glinted in frustration at her own failure. She NEVER missed things!

         Kumi nodded. "Sure!" she helped them fix the cure and then went to give it to Kid. "Here! she's at Jump City jail apparently. All you have to do is get the needle in her and inject the cure. Anywhere is fine as long as it's in." Kumi looked at Catrina and tried to comfort her. "B- but you're so smart, i- it was just a dumb mistake on my half, PURE coincidence! I- I didn't even know what I was doing" Kumi smiled. Kid sped off to the jail.

     "Mmm. Bring her down, get that into her. Don't just stand there! GO!" Catrina ordered. She turned back to Kumi and flipped her hair back over her shoulder. "You sure about that?"

~at the jail~

     "Hey Kari, what are we gonna do now that we are outta here?" asked the dirty blond Matt. Kari shrugged.

     "Well, how about we get some grub? This prison food is gross!" Commented the black haired guy, Lynx.

     "Good idea Lynx. Kari, if you would be so kind." Henry smiled as Kari saw a few officers and the intent to kill danced in her eyes as she rushed toward them full speed, cutting them in half with ease.

     "That was boring," she sighed.

     Kid stepped out from the shadows. "Yeah, especially when they're innocent and defenseless." Kid cautiously walked towards her, hands held in front of him, empty. "Are you alright? I'll help you clean your sword, then we'll just keep going. Don't worry, I'm with you," Kid soothed, getting closer until he was right beside her. He gingerly touched her sword arm like he intended to do what he said. Well, he WAS doing what he said, so he wasn't lying. He moved quickly, drawing out the needle, poised to insert it into her arm. It looked like the elixir, but its properties were totally different. Anyone, even experts on the elixir would have called it the elixir and smashed it.

~at the Tower~

     Kumi panicked not wanting Catrina to be made at her. "Hmm-hmm," Catrina made an amused sound in her throat, causing Robin to stare at her. She smirked and cocked her head at Kumi. "You can chill, I'm just messing with you. But still..." Catrina's hand had automatically gone to her whip at her side, which was stuck in her utility belt. Catrina was trained to utilize both of her parents' fighting styles.

~at the jail~

     Kari yelped and Henry growled. "K- Kid?" She looked around and shuddered at what she saw. "Did- did I---" she gasped weakly.

     "Yeah, you did." Kid said drily, glaring daggers at Henry for messing with Kari. He wrapped an arm around her waist to support her. "I guess we'll have to take care of this, hmm?" Kari nodded.

     "Guess so." She growled at Henry who was already running away. "I'll get him. You get Lynx and Matt." Kari ran at full speed towards Henry.

~at the Tower~

     "Okay, okay, I'm just messing with you, don't freak out." Catrina said, sighing.

~at the jail~

     "Will do," Kid said, sighing. He smacked the gangsters' heads together, knocking them out. Then he watched Kari warily, ready to plunge in to her rescue. Kari then knocked Henry out and came back breathless which is new for her.

     "Let's get you back to the Tower." Kid held his hands out, offering to carry Kari. "Shall I?" Kari nodded and then collapsed. Kid brought her to the Tower carefully and laid her gently down in her bed. He left to get water and sushi from the kitchen for her.

    When Kid came back Kari was surrounded by a tube sort of thing filled with water. She could apparently breath since air bubbles came out of her mouth.

     "OH MY- KARI!!!!!!" Kid dropped the glass and plate of sushi, glass shattering everywhere and sushi rolled around like tires after a wreck. Kid's yelling brought Savannah running in.

     "What's wr- oh my freaking Kryptonite, what the crap is wrong?!" Savannah shouted in panic. "I'll break- wait, that may hurt her. SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING!" Savannah screamed.

        Kari kept floating in the fluid, tears coming off her eyes as she recalled her past from start to present. A monitor popped out of the wall showing everyone what she saw. Kumi rushed in. "Wh- what the-?!" She stuttered. The monitor showed the time Raki killed Kari's parents and a two-year-old Kari crying her eyes out on her knees. Everyone was watching. Kari was running, covered in her mother's and father's blood. Crying the whole way, tripping and getting hurt even more.

     As time went on everyone saw how hard Kari's life has been up until now. not even Savannah knew, and she was the closest person Kari had. Kid was fighting tears as Savvy sobbed uncontrollably, Superman comforting her, Beast Boy and Cyborg cried as Robin left to go to his room and cry, Starfire following. Now the monitor showed Kari at six, and Raki. They were in a forest that had caught fire.

     "I WON'T DIE HERE!" Kari called, full of rage. "I WILL KILL YOU AND MAKE SURE MY PARENTS REST IN PEACE!!" Kari was beat up badly, wounds everywhere and blood all over her. Raki only had a few scratches.

     "Says the little freak who doesn't even know what her true power can do! Not even your parents knew!" Raki smirked and evil filled his eyes. "I did them a favor! If you had gotten mad at them enough the person who could have killed would NOT have been me but rather YOU!!!" Raki was now almost like silhouette from the fire behind him. Kari's eyes filled with fear as she dropped her guard and backed away.

     "N- no I- I wouldn't!" Kari said as rain started to come from the skies. Tears filled Kari's eyes.

     "FACE IT! YOUR A MONSTER AND ALL YOU CAN EVER HOPE FOR IN LIFE IS DEATH BY YOUR HANDS!! I DID YOUR PARENTS A FAVOR!! YOU WOULD HAVE KILLED THEM IF I DIDNT!!!" Raki spat as he approached Kari. Kari had tripped over a rock and was now scooting away. "YOU WERE ONLY BORN TO KILL AND THAT IS ALL YOU EVER DO!!! YOU WILL ONLY BRING SADNESS AND PAIN TO OTHERS!! THAT IS HOW YOU WILL LIVE AND THAT IS HOW YOU WILL DIE!!" Raki growled and Kari got up, punched him and ran away crying.

     "I WON'T!!" she yelled.

    Now Kari was ten and she was in front of a bunch of bodies, her eyes a pure blood red and the white parts were now black and filled with evil intent and rage but slowly turning back to normal, her fangs showing even though her mouth was closed. Her claws were out and she was covered with blood. She had venom purple and red zigzag markings on her cheeks and she was growling and panting. She roared demonically. "RAAWR!!!" she screeched. Once she remembered what happened she collapsed to her knees in a puddle of blood that was not hers. "H- he was right. I- I killed these people. I am a monster. I- I can only kill." She didn't like her fate so Kari started crying. "WHY AM I LIKE THIS?!" The monitor went black as Kari did not remember anything else.

     Kid and Savannah ran over to Kari. Kid picked her up off the bed and hugged her tightly. "Kari, Kari, are you okay?"

    Kari jolted as her eyes opened. "AH!" she had tears rolling down her face. "K- Kid..." she sounded really sad as her voice quivered.

     "It's okay, I'm here, I'm here..." Kid whispered, shaking a little.

    Kari buried her head in his chest. "It- it was so... scary... see-seeing that... It- it hurt..." Kari couldn't stop crying. Everyone felt bad for her. Even Batman and Catrina. Her crying broke Savvy's and Kid's hearts. Kid stroked Kari's head gently.

     "I- it- are you- THANK GOODNESS YOU'RE OKAY!" Kid hugged her tightly, holding back his own tears. Kari was slowly calming down as Kid held her tight.

     "Kid..." she mumbled. As she looked up, Henry's spell took effect. Kari showed a look of confusion.

     "What is it? What's wrong Kari?!" Kid asked, panicked. Kari looked in his eyes.

     "Who are you and who's this Kari person? I'm Kage!" (Ka-geh) (japenese for Shadow) Everyone's blood went cold then froze.

     "It's me, Kid, remember?" Kid asked, hurt.

     "He's your... ah... boyfriend, erm... Kage! I'm your adopted sister! Savannah!" Savvy added timidly. Kari looked around.

     "I don't know any of you." She pulled away from Kid and looked at him. "And definitely sure I'd remember someone like my boyfriend!" She looked to Savannah. "Or my adopted sister!" She started to leave when Kid stopped her and pulled her close, looking into her eyes, her pupils in the shape of bonus stars. Kari pulled away. "BACK OFF PERVERT! MY NAME IS KAGE!!!" She yelled, smacking Kid. "AND DON'T YOU FORGET IT!!!" She ran out into Jump City. Leaving Kid in her room holding the red palm print left behind, heart-broken and tears running down his face. Kari was in the same spot when she killed those gang members when she was ten. She put her hands in her pockets ( CoA/N LIKE A BOSS!!! >X3 ) then walked away, eyes closed and snarling lightly.

~at the Tower~

     "Ugh, it's my fault!! What's wrong with her now?!" Kid shouted angrily at everyone.

     "I don't know... We can run tests on her when we find her..." Savannah muttered, lost.

~Jump City~

     Kari looked up at the Tower from the city square. Kari cried. "I'm sorry." She said, running off in the opposite direction.
