Superman, Savannah, and Kid shot off to find Kari. Superman scanned the city from the left, Savannah at the right side, and Kid ran through the middle. Kid's shoulder wound ached horribly, but he kept running, absolutely determined to find Kari, and convinced it was all his fault that she had run away.

      As they searched Kari was hiding in an ally trying not to be found. She knew that someday it would happen and was not willing to get close to ANYONE at all, that’s when she met Savvy. She changed Kari’s point of view and then they became sisters, they were so close that Kari would follow Savvy almost ANYWERE!! When Savvy saw what Kari was she was scared to face her but Savvy didn’t care and tried to help her and did. Now she let Savvy down, she let her team and friends down. She was a monster and nothing and no one could change that.

     "If I hadn't of made her feel like she was a monster... If only I had stopped her..." Kid muttered to himself as he ran.

     Kari heard him and pokes her head out to see him and said to herself, "he blames himself. but why? Why does he do that... it's not his fault..." she whimpers and tears stream down Kari's face. Kid heard her and turned to where the noise was coming from.

     "KARI?! Kid shouted, relieved to hear her voice. "I thought you were gone... I'm sorry... I'm so sorry, it's all my fault..." Kid doubled over and gasped as pain shot through his body from his shoulder.

      "Kid?!" Kari's eyes filled with fear and she began to shake. "I-it's my fault." Kari looked down. "I-I should've told you about my 'other me's' but I-I was scared." She started to cry more. "It's my fault you're hurt- all my fault!" It started to rain. Kari healed Kid's shoulder and turned around, her back to him.

     "Kari, please, don't go away again. You'll- I- I think- I think I- I think I love you." Kid stuttered, taking Kari's hand.

     Kari gasps and looks at him, tears still rolling down face. "you-" shakes head. "no... your lying. how could you like a monster, a freak like me. i killed people, innocent people before and-and had no second thoughts, i lose my temper and i cant control my self..." Kari sniffled and looked down again. she has never had someone tell her that they might love her and thought she never would.

     "I..." Kid straightened, determined to be completely honest with Kari and keep her with him. "I do love you. And we can work on your temper. You CAN change. But, just to let you know, I like you the way you are."

     Kari growled, she was still looking. Yhe rain got a little harder. "P-prove it!" she whined. "P-prove it. Prove to me your not lying" Kari was not sure how she felt about Kid so she wanted to know what he felt about her before she made a decision.

     Kid did not, for the first time in his romantic life, hesitate. He leaned forward and kissed Kari on the lips. "You ARE special, and I will never lie to you." Kid hugged Kari close, shielding her as much as he could from the rain.

    Kari was shocked at what Kid said. She started to cry. "Y-you... Th-think I-I'm special?!" She snuggled putting her head on his chest. "I- I---" Kari coughed. "I love you too Kid... I do..." Kari turned back to normal as the rain turned to a light drizzle then stopped to show a rainbow directly above them.

     Kid hugged Kari tighter. "Let's go home now, Kari, come on, you need to go to the infirmary. Savvy's worried sick. They're looking for you, Savannah and Clark are. Everyone at the Tower is doing everything they can to find you. You  matter to them. And me."

    Kari's heart started to pound uncontrollably and she started to blush a DEEP crimson. She looked at Kid and her blush became deeper, the way the light hit Kid's face made him seem cooler. Kari nodded. "Ok... But... I-I can't feel my legs..." Kari looked at her legs which were bleeding SO much.

     Kid picked Kari up carefully, bridal style. "You're gonna be okay, alright?" He pecked her on the forehead. "Can you call Savannah with your communicator? I have my hands full at the moment." Kid winked at Kari humorously.

     Kari blushed as Kid winked. "o-ok" her blush getting deeper and deeper. Kari got her communicator and called Savannah. "uh-- hello, Savvy-----"

     Kid grinned at Kari's blush, his face flushing slightly, but remained silent. "KARI!! You're okay!" Savvy cried. "Oh, I was so worried! You're blushing, so I'm assuming Kid found you, yeah?"

     "S-savvy, h-how'd you know i was blushing?!" Kari looks up at Kid then her eyes widen. "uh-uh Savvy I-I gotta go. i'll be home soon ok." Kari hung up the communicator. "Kid," she got up and started to hover with her silver angel wings. "are you ok? do-do you need me too get some help?" a sharp pain went threw Kari with each flap of her wings but tried her best to ignore it. "you look sick."

     "I'm fine." Kid lied. "The sooner we run to the Tower, the better we'll be. You can't run, so let me carry you. PLEASE Kari, I have to make sure you're okay, or I won't have the will to run."

    Kari looked at him. "if-if you say so... but if i get the feeling that you're sick I'LL take YOU back home! got it?!" she landed and let him pick her back up.

    "I'm not, I'm fine." Kid raced on, and across the waters to the Tower. He was almost to the Tower when he collapsed, the demon-inflicted wound on his shoulder burning and pumping more blood out with every heartbeat. "Just... Need... to... rest..." Kid panted, putting Kari down carefully.

     Kari stared at him in horror. "K-Kid?!" She crawls over to him. "da** he should've told me!" She holds out her hands which start to glow. "healing power!" Kari slowly heals Kids shoulder. but at a price... "ARGH!!" Kari collapsed and made Kid get back up. Kari took Kid's wound from him. "r-rrgh..."

     "No! You'll be okay! You. WILL. Be. Okay. Understand? Stay with me!" Kid speeds up to the infirmary faster than he ever has before. "Help her!"

     "Kari! Are you okay?" Savannah cried out in horror as she saw Kari's wounds.

     "Let's get her taken care of. Raven! You know what to do with these wounds." Robin started giving out orders to ensure the Tower's security and Kari's recovery.

     "I'll do everything I can." Raven started working on Kari, using her healing powers as best she could, gradually fixing Kari's wounds, but it was slow work. Kid stood to the side, worrying and fussing over Kari.

    As Kari's breathing slowed she reached for Kid's hand. "R-Raven..." She muttered. "It-it won't work" Kari started to close her eyes and the heart monitor showed that Kari was on her last leg.

     "It- it HAS to! It will! I can- I will- I'll ask my father to save you. I don't know what he'll want in return though..." Raven offered.

     "NO! KARI! You'll be okay! You can't- I'll- I-" Kid could no longer trust his voice as tears threatened to overflow. He clutched Kari's hand tighter, as if his will would keep her with him.

    Kari smiled at Kid. "A s-smile Kid... Please... If I didn't do what I did you would be here n-not me..." She coughed up blood and kept talking. "I did this for you... Please... It... It's for the best Kid... I... L-lo-" the heart monitor went dead line.

     Kid smiled, but it was full of pain, and it vanished as the heart moniter went off. "NO!" Kid screamed. "NO! She can't be- IT'S NOT HAPPENING!" Kid collapsed onto the bed, tears running silently down his face.

     "I'm sorry Kid... I don't know what Savannah's going to do..." Raven turned her face away, ashamed that Kari had died under her care, and angry with herself for it happening.

     Kari is surrounded by a dark, spooky aura. "Don't be sad Kid... We'll meet again... someday"
