Nyx yelped out as she tripped over a stone, 

"Nyx!"

Bones quickly grabbed her hand but couldn't hold onto the edge of the drop long enough. They screamed as they fell over the edge of the small hole they discovered, 

"AHHHH!"

They landed on the floor soon after and groaned, 

"Ow, that was worse than waking up in this stupid cave,"

Bones groaned and stood up, 

"My arm fell off,"

Nyx glanced over at him and sighed, 

"You need some super glue at this point, Bones,"

Bones rolled his eyes and grabbed his fallen arm, 

"Yeah, keep laughing,"

Nyx chuckled and helped him put it back on, 

"Better?"

"Yeah,"

"Who goes there?"

Nyx and Bones immediately turned and held onto each other as they spotted a black and purple dragon, 

"DRAGON!"

The dragon stared at them with her bright purple eyes. Suddenly, a bright light shone around them, and Nyx and Bones gasped in amazement as they looked at all the runes covering the walls. The dragon slowly unfurled its wings, revealing their glowing scales,

"I am Aether, the Elemental Dragon of Light,"

Nyx's eyes widened, and she stepped closer to the dragon. Bones grabbed her shoulder, 

"Nyx-"

"Bones, I can hear her, can you?"

Bones shook his head, 

"N-No, what is it saying?"

Nyx smiled brightly at her old friend, 

"Her name is Aether, she's the Elemental Dragon of Light,"

Bones frowned in confusion, 

"Why is the dragon of Light in a dark cave?"

Aether leaned her head closer to the two, 

"What brings you to this place, children of the realms?"

Nyx took another step closer to her, 

"We are here seeking answers. We...we are lost, we need to find our friends, and my father. We got separated from them after my father caused an explosion because my mother took my little brother away,"

Aether nodded solemnly, understanding flickering in her eyes, 

"I do not know the fate of your friends or family. But, if you help me, I will help you,"

Nyx immediately nodded, 

"Yeah! We can help you,"

Bones gasped, 

"Now, hold on! I can't understand Aether. What did you just agree to?"

Nyx smiled at him, 

"Come on, Bones. Where is your sense of adventure? Aether here agreed to help us find our family if we helped her!"

Bones slowly nodded, 

"How can we know that we can trust her?"

Nyx glanced at Aether before looking at Bones, 

"I just know it. I feel it in my gut. Now, Aether, what do you need help with?"

Aether nodded her head and knelt down in front of the two, 

"I am being sought out by hunters. I can hide, but not forever. I simply want companions. They followed me to this land. This is why I am in this cave. I heard an explosion and followed it until coming across the two of you."

Nyx smiled and patted her head, 

"Don't worry! We will keep you safe, and we can journey together!"

Bones sighed and smiled, 

"Yes, we will,"

Aether held up her paw, and the two climbed onto it and were promptly placed on Aether's back, 

"Hold on, I will take us to somewhere better than here,"

Nyx nodded, 

"Alright,"

Bones yelped out and held onto Nyx's torso as Aether flew up, 

"I regret so much,"

Nyx laughed, 

"Come on, Bones, where is your sense of adventure?"

"It's back with Jagger!"

Nyx laughed, 

"Good thing we will find them!"

Bones groaned, 

"Yeah, yeah,"
