Tadashi finally got back to work after his long wait.
They'd only let him come back to work after a week, and after arguing. It was barely an argument, because they were so convincing.
His boyfriends.
He couldn't stop smiling if he tried. It felt unreal to feel that happy.
That was until he noticed the envelope on his desk. It was completely black, back to back, with no writing on it. Not even behind it.
Tadashi frowned and furrowed his eyebrows before opening it carefully.
His mind was already running through the several possibilities. Carl had vague family connections but nothing seemed to stand out.
All he'd gathered was that his family either cut ties with him, or he cut ties with them. Tadashi opened the envelope anyway.
Even the paper inside it was black. It read:
Your life is on the line
•
That was all it said. There was no clue about where it had come from, or who could have sent it.
Tadashi didn't know what this was, he checked everywhere on the card again, just to make sure. Still nothing.
It kept him thinking who it could be from. There was no way Carl could have resurrected from the dead obviously.
Tadashi quickly kept the envelope hidden when his door swung open.
"Hey, you okay?" Alexander asked, looking closely at him.
Tadashi nodded and resisted the urge to rub his hands over his face. "I'm just going to grab a coffee."
He took his time getting the coffee while his mind kept working. When he got back to his office, there was another black envelope on his desk.
What the hell was going on? He'd get to the bottom of it one way or another.
When he opened the envelope this time, it almost said the same thing. Except it read:
Your life is on the line,
If you hurt my little brother
-Alexander Kane
Tadashi stormed out of his office immediately. He found Alexander on his desk behind a computer, completely concentrated on his work.
"Seriously? Death threats?" Tadashi asked and his boss finally looked up at him.
Alexander smiled and leaned back on his chair. "And remember," he said calmly. "I'm a man of my word."
"You're a man of complete shit. What the fuck?" Tadashi asked.
Alexander laughed. "You can just smile if you want to," he leaned back on his chair and rested his head in his hands. "You look so stupid trying to hold it in."
Tadashi put a hand on his hip and turned away. Was this really how everyone felt when they were so madly in love and everything worked out?
Tadashi smiled against his will.
"I'm guessing there was a major step in your relationship with them," said Alexander.
"We decided to try it out. No, not just try it out... I mean we're boyfriend and boyfriend and boyfriend..." said Tadashi.
Alexander gave him an approving look. "It's exciting, isn't it?"
"You have no idea," said Tadashi. He dropped onto a couch and picked up Alexander's coffee to drink it.
"Oh I have quite the idea," he replied and then grabbed his coffee back after Tadashi had taken a sip. "Go make your own, asshat."
"Does your heart ever stop acting all funny?" Tadashi asked absentmindedly.
"Not by a long shot," answered Alexander.
Tadashi's phone started ringing and he checked to see that it was Linder.
"Oh my God, get out of my office before you begin to melt on the seats," Alexander made a shooing motion with his hands.
Tadashi got up to go and speak to Linder in the privacy of his office. "Tadashi," said Alexander.
Tadashi turned around right before pulling the door open.
"I'm glad it's you," said Alexander. Then he made another shooing motion with his hands and got back to his work.

When Tadashi went back home later in the day, his heart squeezed at the sight that met him.
Mikhail was on Eden's lap, his hands around his neck as he rubbed their noses together.
Eden laughed and Mikhail giggled. It was the cutest sound he'd ever heard. They continued to speak in hushed tones, having each other's undivided attention.
"I can't believe it either," said Lily, folding her arms next to Tadashi and watching the other two.
"It's like they're a match made in heaven," said Tadashi.
"Yeah–"
Lily didn't get to finish because Tadashi just lifted her off the ground unexpectedly. "And how have you been?"
"Put me down!" Lily tried to find a way out. "Why would you–"
"Well, I missed you," said Tadashi, smiling at the girl in his arms.
"Put me down," Lily tried again.
"Not until you kiss me right here," Tadashi pointed at his cheek.
"I'm not doing that," said Lily, and in that moment she really did look like her brothers.
"I can't hear you right now," said Tadashi. He smirked at Lily who rolled her eyes before quickly leaning closer and dropping a quick kiss to his cheek.
"Aww," said Tadashi as he bent to put Lily down. "That's my little girl."
"I'm not little," said Lily as she stormed out of the room.
Mikhail quickly hugged Tadashi out of nowhere before rushing to catch up with Lily.
"Hey," Eden smiled as he approached Tadashi. Tadashi stupidly smiled and just kept smiling.
Eden waved a hand at his face. "Aren't you going to answer me?"
"I'm in love with you," Tadashi blurted out.
Eden gasped. "You've never–"
"Said it out loud?" Tadashi suggested. "Eden," he pulled him close. "I love you."
"I'm not going to get used to you saying that," said Eden.
"What, that I love you?" Tadashi smirked.
"Yeah," said Eden.
"Maybe it's because I love you," Tadashi shrugged and Eden laughed.
"Shut up," he pulled Tadashi close. "Now give me a kiss."
Tadashi pressed their lips together and smiled into it. "I love you too," said Eden when they broke apart.
"Yeah?" Tadashi smiled from ear to ear.
Eden shrugged. "Really can't help myself," he said.
"Hearing you say that makes me the happiest man on earth," said Tadashi.
Eden kissed him one more time. It was brief, making him want more. Just looking at Eden made his nerves jump all over the place. Now, if he'd only see his other love.
"Where's Linder?" Asked Tadashi.
"I think he's still working on what he said he said was working on," said Eden as they made their way to him.
"This is what I've been working on," said Linder. He led them to the table with all the plans he'd drawn up.
"It's my plan to open up a coffee shop. I've got money that was originally saved up for... well, starting a new life somewhere with Mikky and Lily. But I don't see the need for that now," Linder laughed nervously.
Eden moved even closer to him and wrapped his hands around Linder's waist. "First of all, I'm not letting you get away, not even in another dimension. Second of all, you're so brilliant." He kissed Linder.
"You really thought this through, huh?" Asked Tadashi. He looked through everything Linder had written and calculated.
Linder only scratched the back of his head looked down.
"It's going to be amazing," said Tadashi, he gave him a hug and kissed his forehead. "That is one heck of a plan."
The fact that they were so supportive was all that Linder needed. He felt like he could do anything.
Finally. It felt like the beginning of his life for some reason. He didn't feel trapped or kicked down, he felt loved.
