AQUAMARINE ADVENTURES ~ LUKTRA (COUNTDOWN: 7 DAYS TO GO)
(Requested by GAMEPRO42 thank you! ^_^)
Okay.
Alright.
No more distractions.
Just him, and Petra, and a sea temple.
It was going to happen.
He was finally free to adventure like old times with his best friend. He couldn't mess this up today. It just couldn't be a possibility.
Okay Porter, he thought to himself. If you mess this up, Petra will hate you until you die.
Lukas took a deep breath in, and walked outside in the soft snow. A map was tucked under his arm in light tan, ferns, yellow-oranges, teals, and light limes, with a couple of cookies, some steak in case they got hungry, and some swirling silvery-blue-grey potions of water-breathing, that sometimes turned to a bright aquamarine teal sloshing colour, much like the sea.
And that's exactly where they were going.
As he walked, he thought.
Why wasn't he so smitten with Petra anymore? He used to be head-over heels with her, couldn't be more in love with her. Every time he saw her, his heart had swelled and overflooded with coral and rose across his face, making him freeze up and just..stare at her, how amazing she was.
He had blushed way too hard often, and often, 'AT s,' blared in his head in full volume in all its lovey-dovey glory, as well as probably a couple love songs from Owl City for good measure.
He began to hum.
(hah, you thought I was putting the entire lyrics? Oh jeez please no that would take up way too much of the chapter. Heh, sorry ^^' *gives you all hot cocoa and warm blankets* okay moving on,)
"But when her smile came back..." He hummed a little bit. He feet shuffled snow as a sudden sadness drifted over him.
He felt so bad for not having to not be joining her on adventure with her. But no, today was the day. About to happen, and they'd be best friends again.
He hoped.
"Just because she looked so.."
He paused and sighed.
"Adorable."
Knock knock knock.
Petra almost whipped open the door to her little oak birch cabin, looking him up and down. One eyebrow raised. "Hey Lukas. What'd you want?"
Her short hair was messy and unruly, and she wore dark teal cotton pjs. Her face a pale, and it looked like she had been crying by the way her eyes were red around the edges.
A pang splashed across Lukas. Was she okay?
It chilled him how calm and cold she had sounded. Nonetheless, the abashed boy brought up a map, and some of the water-breathing silver-blue and teal potions.
"You said you wanted to go to that sea temple again after going with Jesse, Nurm, and Jack...right?"
Petra blinked and shrugged. Lukas swallowed the sudden hurt that was rising in him. "Yeah. Why?"
Before he could say anything, she mumbled, 'wait...are you..planning on going there? W-with me??" She seemed to stiffen and opened the door wider.
"Well, yeah. I have a whole week off. I wanted to adventure like we used to."
Abruptly, the door slammed shut, and a brief moment later, Petra opened up the door, looking much more energetic. She had on her dark navy blue and gold yellow-orange armor. She held out her marigold sword, and a couple teal colored maps and silver-periwinkle potions clung to her belt-buckle. She was beaming.
"Why didn't you say so?? Let's go!"
"R-really?"
"Why not!? It's 7AM- still early!" She was right. A violet sky hung above them, splashed with clouds and purple-blue royal streaks. Only a couple people were up in the foggy early morning, walking their dogs or taking a jog.
Well..he didn't expect that.
~~
Soon, the sky was a clear crisp teal colour, the water below then a churning violet-blue. Petra's heart leapt into her throat, excitement running through her, warming her insides. They were finally going on an adventure again, together, just the two of them.
ck, all of whom she had explored the ancient depths of the sea temple. She had memorized almost every edge of the giant monument when they had got here, the giant statues staring at her with piercing aquamarine gazes, stone cold, the sand in her boots, the salty chlorine smell...now she would get to experience it again.
Excitement buzzed through her. She'd brought a couple of big helmets for the both of them, custody of Jack and Nurm's adventure emporium, a couple of navy blue diving suits, the potions around her belt, and she had water-proof maps, just for them.
Her heart sped up as they zoomed along the water. It would be a blood moon tonight. The sky would turn a dark violet, with a moon as red as-well, hah, blood. Then the land would grow dark, covering the landscape with more mobs than ever. It only lasted a brief moment, maybe an hour or two, and as long as they were outside and on the surface by then in their homes, they'd be fine.
But for now, the friendly turquoise sky guiding them as their boat cut across the gleaming water sharply. Petra reached out her hand to touch it.
"Yep, we're definitely getting close."
Lukas beamed back at her, and the two continued to glide through the placid water.

(here's some cool aesthetic music and pictures to help you get into the mood! (I dunno it'll be cool I promise:)

Sploosh.
Petra submerged into the turquoise waves, sinking down, deep into the sea. From just below her, as they continued sinking, it was just sand, with some seaweed, brightly lit up and swaying peacefully in the currents. A couple arches were a bit of a way's away, and multiple beautifully salmon-colored coral and brightly colored fish swam out in the open, kind of friendly.
Petra landed with a soft churn of the sand in the small hills of clumpy water. The deep aquamarine now-turned violet waves were soothing, but she could feel nothing but excitement.
Lukas was close behind her. They both felt weightless, and just in front of them was the giant sea temple Petra had wanted to show everyone. She remembered going here with Jesse, with Jack, and Nurm, and memories came flooding back to her. Running from the admin. Collecting prizmarine. Fighting the seaweed skeletons.
But...wait. This temple looked different. It seemed way too big, with less cracks and crumbles in it, bunches of seaweed surrounding it. A periwinkle light shone from inside, and more statues lay carved into the side, crumbling like soft cookie dough.
Petra blinked.
"Wow, why didn't you tell me about this place sooner??" Lukas blinked. Petra unconsciously moved backwards, her arms shielding him. "No..we haven't...been here before."
"You haven't?"
"No..this place is..bigger. There are more statues? You think the admin set this all up before he-" She cut herself off and slowly began swimming towards the sea temple.
He swam right beside her, his translucent helmet gleaming in the water. Petra continued on until they had reached the entrance. It was all filled up with sand, gleaming with turquoise seaweed and bubbles. Petra blinked, confused.
"I think we need something to knock down the sand. See that hole in the sand? It needs a lever, probably." And with that, Lukas reached into his diving suit and pulled out a clear lever.
"Whoa," Petra mumbled, grinning. "Awesome. Let's get the heck into this cool place-"
She got cut off by a shock running down her back. Petra exclaimed out on agony as yellow-orange strings retracted back into it's home, a bright teal creature with a big eye, staring at them.
The redhead gasped.
"Guardian!"
The two ducked as it's marigold spikes shot out once again, and the weird fish gurgled angrily.
Petra briskly swam over to it, stabbing it with her sword. It shook once before going limp and despawning.
She sighed in relief.
"Let's just be glad there was one of them," she mumbled.
Lukas placed the lever, and the sand wall fell away. Petra audibly gasped. It had fallen away to reveal even more temple, with giant statues looking down on her, aquamarine towers, and mountains of seaweed. A big dome was overtop of it, gleaming a violet light, sparkling against the fish swimming on that area. This even added onto the temple they had seen, with a long hallway, probably full of traps. She gazed up and her neck hurt. Coral swayed gently at the top, a bright and colourful salmon colour, with multiple fish and a couple of crabs over it. The entire thing was..beautiful.
Eventually, the two blinked away, tearing themselves from the sea temple, and Petra beamed at him. "Well, what're we waiting for?"
~~
"Arg!"
He saw Petra slam into the ground on the dark Prizmarine blocks. The giant skeletons, wearing robes and dressed in seaweed, big bandaged masks covering their faces, we're cornering them. Before they had even gotten to go to the hallway!
Lukas sprinted up to the beast and plunged his sword through the back of its head. The sea guard struggled for a moment before the big blinking light on the back of it's head, glowing a bright blue-green, winked out and it fell limp to the ground of the sea.
"Petra! You okay!"
Petra nodded. She stood and brushed herself off.
"Th-"
Multiple things happened at once: Petra yelled out his name, she lunged in front of him, and sand blew all over him in his diving suit, exploding around him in a tornado of soft beach ground. Then he felt something heavy fall smack dab right on top of him.
The huge weight on his back took him by surprise, and he wheezed violently. He abruptly felt the weight lift off of him, and he could finally breath again. Petra was holding her sword, looking down at the stiffened aquamarine solider/skeleton/mob now, looking angrily at him.
"Are you okay?" She looked up at him, and suddenly her warm brown eyes flooded with concern that swept him away. She helped him up, and he beamed, hugging her.
"I've been worse," He stated, muffled by his helmet. Relief glimmered in her eyes, and she smiled. "Good." She seemed genuinely relieved, and even hugged back, letting out a big breath of air.
"I'd hate to have something bad happen to you, especially in a sea monument..don't scare me like that." She abruptly laughed and playfully elbowed him.
"...Now let's go take care of the rest of this temple!" And with that, she threw her sword into her inventory, and, back facing him, she ran up to the hallway, her fists pumped into the air.
And then, memories and adoration came flooding and swirling back through Lukas, and just like that, he had fallen in love with Petra, head-over-heels, all over again.
~~
The two resurfaced, gasping. Petra yanked off her helmet. They had been in an amazing temple. The little room after running through the long and trap-infested hallways full of Prizmarine teal blocks, they had gotten into a sand-full dome, will a big overhead glass oval overtop, coral everywhere, a couple of pastel red crabs, and many statues, all bathed in a soft periwinkle light. Now, they had managed to get 10 pieces of Prizmarine shards, which were now sharply glimmering in Petra's hands.
The water was a dark violet, and the blue-violet sky was darkening, with the blood moon just beginning to rise.
Petra gasped and grabbed her friend's hand.
"We gotta go!"
And Lukas broke the boat, and the two burst out from the waves, sprinting on the beaches back to their homes, and Petra beamed to herself.
They were friends again. She laughed a bit in exasperation.
Finally!
