I don't know if i'm allowed to be out here so I quickly jump behind the bench I was sitting on. It's so quiet all I can hear are somones foot steps "are you ok did you fall?" I look up and a bunny is staring down at me. I'm frozen in terror until I remember It's a masquerade ball. He gives me a hand and I take it. "so why were you out here" he asks "I could ask you the same thing" I say

We stare in silence for a moment. "I like the quiet and i needed to get away for a bit" he says "i'm hiding from the prince" I say "do you know where he is?" he asks "no but no one was out here" "should i go then?" the words fall out of my mouth before I can catch them "no uh I mean you could but" he smirks "care to dance" he asks holding out a hand.

I take his hand and I can hear the muffled music from inside playing we start to dance to it. "relax" he whispers close to my neck. "Just move to the beat" I start getting the hang of it. "Why are you hiding from the prince" he asks softly "My family needs me with them if I never meet the prince he wont choose me" I look up his eyes are dark blue and shining like little stars floating in them Like in the ocean when you see the reflection of the night sky. He looks guilty or somthing from what I just told him. "it's not your fault and you should be happy I get to go home tomorrow the prince never saw me. "yeah" is all he says. I hear the castle's clock ring midnight "we should meet up again soon" I say "maybe next week or somthing i'm busy alot" he says "ok I'll just drop leter by the castle steps and you could pick it up when you're free" I say "brilliant I will drop some for you to then" he says. "I'm really sorry I have to go it's been really nice see you soon?" "bye see you soon I'll put a box by the steps for the letters then" "ok" I yell back as I run inside.

Fiona and Genevieve are still standing there staring at me like my hairs on fire. "What?" I ask "you have some explaining to do" Fiona says. We all start laughing "so did you dance with the prince?" I ask they both shrug "we don't know who he is still" Genevieve says "so did you dance with bunny boy again we saw him walk outside with you?" Fiona asks "bunny boy really? Can we talk when we get back?" I ask "ok just dont pull an i'm tired or I don't feel good sorry card on us" Fiona says "I won't I promise we all pinky promise then walk outside to our rides.

We all get to go together this time in my carriage Jasper is still the driver wich is nice because he actually talks. "Hi Jasper" I say "how many boyfriends do you have cala?" Fiona whispers to me "he's sixteen!" I say a little to loudly. "long time no see" when where all in the carriage he asks "so how was it did any of you dance with the prince?" "no" I say Fiona and Genevieve both shrug. "It was fun we all hung out at the snack bar until Cala ditched us" Fiona says "hey I did not" "you kind of did" Genevieve says "wait what?" chester asks obviously confused "there was this cute tall guy who was maybe the prince and he followed cala like a creap outside because they danced and he whispering things in her ear" Fiona says "Fiona!" "what it's true is it not" I roll my eyes smiling "first of all he's nice not creapy second he didn't follow me outside he was trying to get away from the croud" I say "mhh hhm sure" Fiona and Genevieve say in unison they love doing that maybe they're secret twins who knows. "so what about the whispering?" Fiona asks "what about it" I ask "what did he say" Genevieve asks I bite my lip "umm" they're both staring at me waiting "maybe I can teach you somtime" I whisper they both start screaming like little girls when they get puppy for christmas "oh my god Cala" Fiona says. "Wait teach you what?" chester asks "how to dance catch up chester" Fiona says we all start laughing.

We wave chester good bye and walk upstairs to our room. We all sit on my bed "we should play truth or dare!" Fiona practically yells "umm no thank you I say smiling. They both start begging me literally on their knees. "Please Cala oh please play it wont be fun without you" "fine" I finally agree. Fiona runs out of the bedroom and shouts down the stairs "girls come play truth or dare." Next thing I know probably three quarters of the girls in the house are trying to fit in a circle on the floor. Me and Genevieve are watching from my bunk bed laughing at girls elbowing eachother to scoot over.

Fiona spins a bottle it lands on a girl named primitty partridge "so Prim truth or dare" she asks smirking evily "its primitty" she says snobily "truth" "are you scared" Fiona asks "fine then, dare" "I dare you to skinny dip in the fountain outside" they're a ton of ohhs and ahhs before she finally answers. "and if I dont?" she asks "well tell everyone you're too chicken and you'll have to leave the game" Fiona is a savage. "Fine i'll do it" "because i'm generouse you can keep on your under garments" Fiona says smiling. She looks releived especially because of all the people standing to watch. We all stay back in the room though.

When prim comes back she is absolutely soaked we all try not to laugh but some just couldn't help it until the whole room was bursting with giggles. We all keep playing. Fiona gets covered in mustard kind of fitting because she told chester to catch up. then it finally lands on me. the moment I've been dreading. Somone I don't recognize asks me truth or dare "truth" I say. Whats the saddest thing that's ever happened to you. My aunt dieing my loosing my sister being forgoten "being alone and not aloud to help or ask questions or be there for my mum, nobody trusts me" I can feel tears coming to my eyes I cant cry not now not ever.

I run out of the room and outside I just keep running down the path in the snow that just wont go away evan though it doesn't belong in spring. I run through the flowers under the moon and the clouds in the dark. I run home.

I see a window glowing it's my parents room it's midnight but they must be awake. I run down the hill past the pigs the hourses and the goats. I open the door that no one ever locks and I see jenny my little sister staring shocked at me from the couch. The fire place makes the whole living room glow orange.

"Cala!" my sister calls.
