Chapter Three

F A M I L Y M E M O R I E S

Location: Jericho
Day: May 26th, 2042
Time: 10:45 am

Violet looked up at the news on the TV in Jericho and frowned. It had six days since the murder and there was still no word about where the man went or who he was. Police were advising people to stay in their homes to keep safe and only go out for extreme purposes (groceries, health related problems, etc). Violet sighed.
"Still nothing?" Willow asked as she looked up from her homework to watch the TV.
"No." Violet replied, her voice oozing with disappointment.
"Well, I'm sure that there will be more information soon. Connor told dad that as soon as he hears information, you'll be the first to know." Willow explained and Violet smiled in gratitude.
"I appreciate it. But I don't think the murderer going to come out any time soon. He's probably... waiting for something." Violet trailed off, remembering something important.
"I have to go back to my house!" Violet said, suddenly beginning to rush out of the room.
"What? Wait.. why?" Willow questioned. Just as she said that, her dad, mom and her two uncles came in, from hearing the commotion while they were having a meeting.
"Where are you going?" Carl questioned in concerned, as his LED flashed yellow.
"I'm going back to my house. I need to get something." Violet repeated, urgency clear in her voice.
"Wait Violet, what do you need to get?" Markus questioned, grabbing her attention as she stared into his blue eye and his green eye.
"I have to go back to the house to get something. I'll be back soon- and don't worry, it'll benefit Jericho too. I promise." Before Markus could stop her, Violet already rushed out the door.
"Well that was abrupt." Willow muttered, as her brother nodded in agreement, before Willow went back to doing her homework.
"Markus, what are we going to do? She'll be out there on her own with her family's killer still on the loose." North said, turning to Markus for guidance.
"I'll... send someone after her." Markus replied vaguely, before walking off.
"Do you think it will work?" Willow voice piped up, distracted again.
"I don't know," North admitted, "shouldn't you be doing your homework?"
"Shouldn't I be in a environment, like our house, where I can't get distracted?" Willow retorted.
"Yes, well. Two days ago, when we came here the police didn't ask everyone to stay in their homes." North replied, accidentally snapping at her daughter, before walking off. Carl and Willow gave each other a worried look, just hoping that the plan to send someone would work.

Location: The Clark House
Time: 11:11 am

"Welcome home, Violet." The automated voice said, as the door's to Violet's old home opened magically by themselves. Violet drew in a shaky breath. She felt a wave of nostalgia wash over her. Delete the murders, the house remained as it always was. White cream walls, expensive furniture and up to date technology.

Violet went over to one of the walls, and traced her fingers over the names of her siblings on a growth-chart, written in sharpie by her mother and father (but it was clear who wrote what as her mother had beautiful handwriting while her father wrote in chicken scratch). This was special, the only non technological thing in the entire house.

As Violet began to move once more, she heard footsteps. Violet began to panic, if someone was in the house, she was unarmed and could not defend herself. Well, I guess this is it. This is the day I die. I knew I shouldn't have stopped!! Violet thought, scolding herself and annoyed at how little she had accomplished. The footsteps kept getting louder, and at almost the last possible moment, Violet turned around.
"STOP! It's-it's just me, Violet!" A female android explained. After a minute of Violet looking her over, she realized it was the blue haired Traci from the Eden Club.
"What are you doing here, Traci?" Violet questioned.
"Markus wanted someone to follow you, to make sure you were safe- and that you stayed out of trouble." Traci explained.
"Ah. Let me guess, he talked to by brother, huh?" Violet asked with a smirk.
"Possibly." Traci replied vaguely, and Violet allowed Traci to follow her around the house.
"This place is beautiful." Traci commented as they went up the staircase.
"Yeah, well. My parents did work at Cyberlife, the best job you could get in this century." Violet replied as she unlocked the door to Faye's room with her hand.
"So, what were they like? Your parents?" Traci asked cautiously as to not offend her, but Violet knew this question was coming. She may have had been at Jericho for only six days, but she already had a reputation. A stubborn girl, that was known for her bluntness and didn't talk about her family or seem to mourn them. Everyone was curious, and she could hear occasionally whispers.
"My parents," Violet began as the door unlocked to reveal a cream white room with huge bedroom space, "they were stubborn, calculating and very cynical people. But they had good qualities of course." Violet explained, as she began to search the room for something.
"Like... what?" Traci replied, and Violet froze, her LED changing to yellow for a second, before going back to blue.
"They were kind, though they didn't show it much, believed that every person should be equal and were very selfless, they would sacrifice their lives for causes they cared about. All my sisters are the same. The only one that's different is Kolt. He was always a negotiator." Violet explained, as she brought out a large box from a hidden place inside the bedroom's wall.
"How did you get there? I mean, how did employees of Cyberlife just allow you to come into their home?" Traci asked, wanting to know more.
"I don't really remember much. It was sometime in the fall, and it was raining." Violet explained, as the memory came back to her.

~Flashback~

For a moment, Violet ran in heavy rain and thunder, and the next she was at their doorstep.
"Oh, come in. You poor thing." Her mother had said that day, letting her inside the house. Her voice sounded distant... friendly, but distant. Perhaps it was because she was gone?
~End of Flashback~

"That's all I know." Violet said, blinking rapidly, before looking through the box secretly and closing it, not revealing what was inside.
"Ok. Everything's in here. We can leave now." Violet explained, as she began to leave the room.
"What's in the box?" Traci questioned, as she followed behind her.
"You'll see." Violet replied vaguely.

Location: Jericho
Time: 12:00 pm

Violet and Traci returned with the box and Markus noticed, starting to walk towards them.
"Find what you were looking?" He questioned, eyeing the box.
"Yes." Violet replied as Traci took off the blue coat she was wearing and examined the box more closely.
"Good. But, uh, Violet, maybe ask next time before going anywhere?" Markus suggested.
"Of course." Violet replied, but she felt it to be forced, like a student going to the principal's office. She moved some stuff out of the box.
"What is in here anyway?" Traci asked, still looking at the box's contents.
"Everything my mother has on Androids, and then some." Violet explains proudly when suddenly a hologram falls out and began to play.
"Hey Kolt!" Violet would recognize that voice from anywhere, it was Simone, the youngest sibling in her family.
"We've missed you." Skylar, one year older than Simone, spoke next.
"We're just wondering," Deyanna spoke, followed by Faye saying, "when are you coming home? I get it, it's college! But still, come home soon!! We miss you- Violet misses you." Faye's voice began to drown out when Violet came back to reality, feeling a thousand eyes watching her. She quickly stopped the video, coughed awkwardly, stuck the hologram in her pocket and went to her room.

No one said a word. It was a long, awkward silence as Anastasia creeps up to the box, and noticed that some personal sketches, drawn by Deyanna, the artist in the family (along with Violet who drew birds), but then Anastasia noticed something else in the box.
"Is that... that's blue blood!" Anastasia exclaimed, as all the Androids crowded around her, eyes sparkling with anticipation.
"Huh! Looks like Violet was right. This will benefit Jericho after all!" Anastasia comments as Markus goes over to inspect Anastasia's findings.

Violet in her room, smiled. It's the least she could do. Give Jericho all the information that her mother had on Androids (and the blue blood of course). Now all she needed to do was to find the murderer.

Author's Notes

These are the photos that were mentioned:

Also, I meant to publish this earlier today, but I slept in, then I had to do a physical for high school, then a group therapy session for my shyness, and then, THEN our power went out because of a storm, and now that's it back on I was able to finish writing this😁

NOTE: For upcoming chapters, new characters will be introduced. Also, some deviants in the game (The Traci's, Rupert and Ralph) are alive!! And not dead (other androids don't appear in Jericho and cannot be spared by Connor). The only deviant that isn't alive is Daniel (because he dies no matter what you do in the game).

Hope everyone enjoyed reading and don't forget to vote and comment!
Bye!
