Location: Kolt and Anastasia's Apartment
Day: May 29th, 2042
Time: 1:00 pm
The murderer was still not found, some police officers were considering this to be a closed case, even Connor admitted to Violet that the man may never be found. Violet was a little upset by this, but understood that there wasn't much the DPD could do. So for now, it was considered a cold case.
I just wish there was something I could do... Violet thought, worry and guilt consuming her entire being. Worry for that man hurting others and guilt for her family's murder not being avenged. She was so out of it that she didn't even notice her brother putting her tea on his coffee table.
Anastasia then sighed loudly, bringing Violet back to reality.
"It's a shame that they won't catch him." Anastasia said aloud, talking to no one in particular as she sipped her tea (I think I'm forgetting that most of these characters are androids... oops!).
"Hmm. Maybe it's for the best." Kolt mumbled, as he sipped his own tea, sitting beside Violet and putting his arm over the couch. Suddenly, Violet's LED became yellow.
"What is it?" Anastasia questioned putting down her tea, as she knew it was probably a message.
"It's from Markus. He wants me to come to Jericho." Violet explained with a curt nod before getting up.
"Oh ok, well-well, come back soon!" Anastasia calls out to Violet as she leaves the apartment.
Location: Jericho
Time: 1:30 pm
Violet went into Jericho and looked around for Markus. She turned to find Willow and Carl instead.
"Hey, is your dad here?" Violet asked. Willow shrugged and Carl said "he should be."
"There you are." Violet jumped and turned to see Markus in front of her.
"You wanted to see me?" She questioned with a small smile as a greeting.
"What do you know of Lexi Spencer?"
"Lex? She's... an old family friend." Violet stated awkwardly as Markus glanced at Violet suspiciously before continuing.
"I want you to find her. See what she knows."
"About what?"
"Our kind, I want to see if we can ally her." Violet smirked.
"I'm sure she'll join our cause. She is the 'Painter of Androids' after all." Violet replied cooly before leaving.
Location: Lexi Spencer's Glass Mansion/Art Studio
Time: 1:34 pm
Violet arrived at Lexi's home.
On her 20th birthday, the day of the Android Revolution, Lexi's parents kicked her out, not willing to except Androids as people. So, she moved to a new place, sold her paintings on the side, til eventually she became the top artist in Detroit at the young age of 23.
Violet stared up at the glass mansion in awe. It truthfully was a spectacle to behold, surrounded by lush green grass. Like the garden of Eden. Violet rang the futuristic doorbell on a tablet that was connected to the door.
"Ashely can you get that?" Lexi's voice was crystal clear in Violet's synthetic ears.
Violet admired the mansion a little more before the door was opened by an RT600 model (Just think of Chloe) named Ashely, who was Lexi's girlfriend and her muse for her paintings. Ashley blinked, her LED turning from yellow to blue in seconds as she realized that it was Violet and not some stranger.
"Violet! It's so good to see you!!" Ashley exclaimed happily, pulling Violet into an unexpected hug that Violet reciprocated.
"Hey Ash! How are you?" Violet questioned as she pulled out of the hug.
"I'm fantastic!!" Ashley replied with a big smile, making Violet laugh. Ashely was the opposite of Violet, optimistic and hopeful for the future. Violet was a lot more cynical and didn't think that the few bigots could be changed.
"But, how are you?" Ashley asked with concern, making Violet's LED turn yellow.
"I'm... fine." Violet said looking down and then up again.
"So-so, why did you come?" Ashley asked as their conversation turned from happy to awkward tension.
"I came to find Lex. Markus wants to see if she'll ally with Jericho."
"Markus?" Ashley repeated, her LED changing to yellow in thought, before turning to blue as she smiled.
"I'm sure that Lexi would love to that." Ashley concluded, letting Violet inside to follow her to Lexi.
"Lexi? You here?" Ashley called out as the two androids went to Lexi's drawing room. She had sketches and finished painting scattered around the room. And at the back, in the middle was a blonde haired woman with tattoos on her arms.
This was Lexi.
"Hey, Lex? I wanted to-"
"Argh!!! Damn you Violet!!!!" Lexi suddenly shouted, ripping the sketch of an android sitting in a chair off the huge easel, and flinging the rolled up ball at Violet.
"Hey! What did I do?" Violet asked, almost coming out in a laugh.
"You interrupted my work!!!" Lexi replied in a huff, as an African American android peeked her head from behind the easel to make sure everything was alright.
"Who is this?" Violet questioned, as Lexi stopped her anger to give a look of confusion before turning to the Android behind.
"Oh, this is Meg. She's our new roommate." Lexi explained.
"Hi. You must be Violet? It's nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too. Lexi, I need two things from you." Violet said.
"This outta be good. What now?" Lexi asked a little bit annoyed.
"I need those bird sketches that you borrowed from me." Lexi turned her eyes from side, blinked and then realized that Violet was talking about her bird sketches that she let Lexi borrow.
"Oh! Those! Yeah I'll get 'me for 'ya!" Lexi replied, quickly getting up from her stool and going into the room off to her left.
"So, how long have you been here?" Violet asked Meg, making small talk while Lexi got those sketches.
"I moved in last December." Meg explained and Violet turned to Ashely.
"I can't believe you got another roommate and didn't tell me!" Violet exclaimed and Ashely chuckled.
"Well someone has to help with the bills!" Ashely replied.
"Oh, yeah. By the way, wasn't Lexi supposed to have an art exhibit some time soon?" Violet questioned, looking back and forth between the two women.
"I was. It got canceled after your parents' murderer." Lexi explained, coming into the room with a baker's dozen of Violet's sketches in hand and handing them to Violet.
"Ah." Violet replied, looking down as the sketches slightly crumbled in her left hand.
"You said that there was something else you came here for?" Lexi asked after a few minutes of silence.
"Oh! Right. Markus wants to know if you'll ally with Jericho."
"Jericho? Markus is their leader, yes?" Lexi asked blinking in surprise, before turning to her two Android companions for advice on what to do with such an honor. Then Lexi smiled, now back sitting in her stool.
"It would be an honor and my pleasure to ally with Jericho." Lexi explained making Violet grin.
"Thank you." Violet said before leaving the mansion and going back to the Jericho to tell Markus the good news.
Location: Jericho
Time: 2:00 pm
Violet came into Jericho and found Markus immediately, talking to North.
"I have good news. Lexi has agreed to ally with Jericho." Violet announced to Markus who nodded satisfied at the outcome.
"What's that?" Willow asked as she and Carl came from either side of Violet to look at the sketches.
"Birds? I didn't know you could draw." Carl said amazed.
"Well I can. I liked to draw birds, I related to them in a way, the feeling of freedom, like having wings and flying." Violet explained.
"What else can you draw?" Willow asked, her eyes lighting up with intrigue and curiosity, making Violet silently chuckling.
"Birds are all I can draw, I'm afraid. Deyanna was the real artist." Violet said trailing off, before her LED became yellow.
"Sorry, gotta go. Connor wants to see me. Uh... here, you can keep them for now- just give them back to me when I come back!!" Violet said, handing her sketches to Willow.
"Thank you!!!" Willow called out cheerfully before she and Carl ran off to find Alice and show her the sketches.
Location: Detroit Police Department
Time: 4:00 pm
Violet got out of the taxi and saw Connor in front of the police department.
"You got my message I see." Violet said as she got out of the car.
"There's no new information, Violet." Connor explained, empathy clear in his voice as her smile faltered.
"Oh."
"I'm trying. I'm sorry, Violet. He's just vanished."
"I know. It's ok, Connor. You're trying. That's good enough. If you don't find any information, then... it's ok. I understand that he couldn't be found." Connor lifted his head up and blinked at Violet.
"Really? You... you'd be ok with that? How?" Violet shrugged.
"It's just how I was raised." Violet replied, before Connor was called away and she left to go back to Jericho.
Author's Notes
Hey guys! So sorry I haven't been uploading in a couple of days. For the past few days I've been sick and am currently writing this on a plane to Florida. Me, my mom and my dad are going to see my two aunts and will be back on Friday. By the time you read this, I will have landed. By the way, sorry this was shorter than usual (or is it always this short?🤷🏼♀️) I wanted upload on the plane, but with airplane mode on and the image that I have and music not loading, I decided it'll be safe to do it when I land.
Anyway, I'm gonna go!
Bye!
