Chapter four

Hermione's alarm observed its new surroundings as it got ready to sing. The room was unfamiliar, with only one large bed in the room instead of multiple single beds. And beside Hermione...a man? That couldn't be right. It shook itself, and sang a light Beethoven piano melody.

"Granger." Draco groaned, and used his pillow to cover his ears.

"I'm going. Goodness gracious." Hermione flung an arm out to stop the alarm, but accidentally reached the wrong way and smacked Draco's bare chest instead. "Sorry!" She blushed and sat up, gently tapping the clock.

"It's fine." Draco sat up, and glanced at the clock. At this he did a double take, rubbing his eyes to ensure he wasn't going crazy.

"What?"

"Do you see what time it is?!"

"Just because it's a little earlier than others-" Hermione was collecting her things to shower and could've believe how much of a fuss he was making.

"You don't understand." Draco scrambled out of bed and snatched a few things from the dresser. "I thought you'd wake up earlier!" He ran into the bathroom and started the shower.

"Wait! I need one!" Hermione protested, and followed him into the bathroom. She had found out the night before as she tried using the bathroom, the door didn't lock. Even enchantments didn't work.

"Granger, I need this. I don't look amazing each day without showering and freshening up." Draco had begun to take off his pants and Hermione looked away.

"Well what am I going to do then?" Hermione protested.

"Hop in." Draco smirked, and stepped through the glass door.

"Can you at least turn on the tint thing?"

"No."

Hermione stormed out of the room, muttering incoherent words under her breath as she paced back and forth. Maybe she could bathe. The bubbles would hide her body so Draco wouldn't be able to see it, and she'd be clean.

Hermione came into the bathroom, avoiding looking into the shower, and began the bath. It was then that she realized she's have to take off her clothes to get in. She took a quick behind her and decided Draco was preoccupied enough that he wouldn't notice. She practically tore her clothes off, and sank into the tub. To her relief, Draco didn't say anything.

It was then that she noticed the wide assortment of shampoos, conditioners, soap, as well as bath pearls and bubbles. She decided to go with nice lavender and vanilla scented ones, and relaxed in the tub with her head resting on the rim of it.

"See. You managed." Draco shook his head as he came out of the shower.

"Whatever." Hermione rolled her eyes. "What time is it?"

"7:20" Draco shrugged. Breakfast began at 8 meaning they only had a little over a half hour left.

"7:20?!" Hermione frantically looked around for her towel, and realized she had left it on the bathroom counter.

Whereas Draco's concern in the morning was enough time in the shower, Hermione worried about whether or not she'd have enough time to fix her hair.

"Can you-" Hermione stopped and let out a big sigh. She couldn't believe she had to ask Draco to do this for her. Her wand, of course, was in her room and she hadn't mastered wand-less magic. "Can you give me my towel?"

"This one?" Draco turned around with her towel in his hand, and walked up to the bathtub to hand it to her.

Hermione sank as low as she could into the bubbly bath, and extended her arm out to grab it. He teasingly pulled it away when she almost had it in her grasp, and quickly placed it in her hand at the expression on her face. It was more terrifying than any he had ever received before. And that was including those from his father, and Voldemort.

"Get out." She snapped. When she was sure he wasn't lingering, she stood up and wrapped the towel protectively around herself. She closed the door even though she knew it wouldn't lock, and quickly got to work. She had put on lotion, her clothes, and had begun to fix her hair when Draco came back in.

"We have to go. It's 7:55" he informed.

"You don't have to wait for me."

"I know." Draco shrugged. He leaned back against a wall and looked amused as she struggled to smooth down her hair.

"Done." She announced, and they made their way out of their room together.

"You know, you snore at night." Draco commented casually.

"I do not!" Hermione said indignantly.

"I mean it's not like you would ever realize. Just ask Weasel or Potter. I'm sure one of them can tell you."

Draco led the way into the Great Hall and they paused in shock, seeing the new format of the room.

"You've got to be kidding me." Hermione sighed.

The usual four house tables were set up, but all the way on the left laid tables for two set up. Each table containing a name card with one of the couples on it.

"After you, Granger." Draco dramatically gestured her to go first and she had to use every fiber of her being to not roll her eyes.

"Wonderful. Just wonderful." Hermione shook her head as she sat down in her assigned seat. It felt like they were first years with no freedom.

"Our schedules are here." Draco commented, and unfolded the papers tucked in between their plates.

"Let me see." Hermione snatched the papers out of his hand, and furiously scanned through the titles of the courses along with the Professor teaching it.

"Can I see?" Draco raised an eyebrow.

"You've got to be kidding me." Hermione groaned as she handed them back.

"What?"

"We have the same schedule too."
