29|With you
After hearing that his driver would be fine, both Knox and Gina decided to go home. Luckily, they were able to escape media attention in order to do so. Sally was the driver, Knox and Gina in the back, sitting close, anticipating the time when they'd be alone but for now, there was Sally and with Sally, came questions.
"So Knox," she began, meeting his gaze through the rearview mirror. Knox looked up to her and seeing the look she gave, he straightened himself for what was to come.
"What was the relationship like with Lisa?"
Taken aback, Knox clenched his teeth. "I don't think that's any of your business, Sally. Its not your question to ask," he replied, his voice firm.
Gina shifted in her seat. "I'd like to know," she said, causing Knox to snap his gaze towards her, his analysis skeptical as he studied her, wanting to see if it was a joke. He didn't find the question hard to answer but he wasn't particularly fond of discussing his personal issues in the company of those he wasn't exactly comfortable around. But he had no intentions of keeping anything from Gina, neither was he going to make it seem like he was.
He sighed. "There was nothing between us. She was my best friend but being constantly in and out of rehab left us no chance to even maintain the friendship," he explained, his gaze on Gina.
"So you were celibate for five years?" Sally continued without so much as a breather.
"Wh-" he was about to argue when yet again, Gina's expression told him to answer.
Clearing his throat, he replied, "No," he said, hanging his head and avoiding Gina's gaze. "I had a few flings here and there."
"So you cheated?" Sally put in.
"I- what is this?" Knox snapped, glancing from Sally to Gina who was now looking at anything but him. Knox's heart plummeted at the possibility of her blocking him out again. He was quick to explain.
"What Lisa and I had, wasn't real. It was just on paper and the wedding was just a big show to convince the media otherwise. We both knew that and I only went out a few times when I wasn't busy taking care of everything else."
"Don't you think it would've been easier to just tell Gina instead of disappearing for years?"
Knox pulled in a lengthy breath. "I do now but I was scared for my relationship with Gina, I was scared for Lisa and I was scared for April. I acted on impulse and it was stupid of me to and it'll always be something that I'll regret."
Silence intervened for a brief moment, pressing on the lips of every single person in the car, until Sally decided to break it.
"If you both plan to move forward, what about April?" Sally asked, her tone slightly malicious.
"I-"
"We're here," Gina finally said, putting a halt on the conversation as Sally stopped the car. "Thanks for everything Sal, I'll talk to you tomorrow."
"Ok, hon, we'll talk soon," she said, sending Knox a warning glare before she started up the car again and drove off.
Gina began to walk towards the house, and Knox, figuring she was upset, ran behind her in order to clarify things as much as he could.
"Gina..." he began. She stopped and turned to face him, the night's breeze, dancing wildly with the strands of her hair, dangling to her face. When she faintly smiled, Knox's heart leapt with a newfound joy that was almost overwhelming.
"I swear to you, they meant nothing," he said, watching as she tucked a lock of hair behind her ear.
"Ive had my share of nothings too," she said. "I'm not angry about it, Knox."
Knox swallowed. "And what Sally said about April, I-"
"I want you," she softly said, her eyes locked with his. "And if that includes your flaws, your mistakes and your daughter I'll still want you. I've spent so much time looking behind me and mourning my mistakes that I lost sight of how beautiful the future can be. I don't want to do that anymore, I want to have something to look forward to and I want someone to be happy with. I-"
As much as Knox loved hearing the words, he wanted so much more at the moment and so, under the moon lit sky, he silenced her with a kiss. Soft enough to be tender, deep enough to ignite passion.
They tumbled through the front door, lips locked, feasting on a need that was so overwhelming. Hot and heated lips sought out each other as passion fueled their lust. They smiled against eachother's mouth, the reunion, one greatly anticipated.

Gina blindly stretched her hands to the other side of the bed, expecting her hands to come in contact with her lover's body, but emptiness was what greeted her. Her eyes fluttered open, her vision confirming that fact. Gina immediately eased up, wondering where he was and trying to remember at what point during the night had they stumbled into bed. If memory served her right, they had stumbled over many things through the course of the night, making love throughout in a dimly lit house.
Gina smiled at the wonderful memories, a feeling of bliss creating waves through her body, but she didn't leave that with much though, she was more concerned about Knox's whereabouts.
Throwing the sheets from her naked body, Gina reached for a robe, quickly pulling it on when she paused, her nose picking up the scent of something being cooked. Curious, Gina left the room and wandered down stairs, her brows drawn together skeptically as she went to see what it was.
She entered the kitchen to find Knox in front of a stove as he stirred eggs in the pan. Gina's mouth fell open in amusement, watching at how focused he was as he did what seemed to be an effortless job. She leaned against the door post and watched him with admiration, taking note of his shorts and bare top.
"Knox Warner in the kitchen," she teased, watching as his gaze snapped to hers. He smiled. "I've gotta admit, this is the sexiest thing I've ever seen," she said, moving towards him and slapping him on the butt.
He chuckled and dipped his head to kiss her. "I didn't think you'd be up so quick. I wanted to surprise you with breakfast in bed," he said, twisting a knob on the stove which killed the fire.
Gina smiled. "Well, aren't you the charmer," she said, slipping on a chair around the counter. "But seeing you around a stove is surprising enough."
Placing two plates down, Knox served them both, reaching for some already prepared bacon. He paused, seeing the look on Gina's face. "What is it?" he asked.
She made a pitiful face. "I'm actually a vegan," she informed, watching as Knox's brows shot up in surprise.
"How- when?"
Gina snorted. "You should've seen your face. I'm just kidding," she grinned, shoving a strip of bacon in her mouth.
Knox smiled, shaking his head. "I'll get back at you for that," he warned, sitting opposite her. "So...how was your sleep?"
Gina flashed him a flat stare. "You mean my lack of it?"
"Are you complaining?" he asked, mocking a serious expression.
"Not at all. If lastnight happens everynight, I wouldn't mind," she said, biting into another strip of bacon while she watch Knox slide off his chair.
"I'll hold you on that," he said standing in front of her, his arms circling her waist.
Gina smiled, kissing him quickly on the lips before she looked up at him, seeing how lust had already clouded his vision. "Well, it'll be the only thing you'll be holding for now. I've gotta go," she said, skillfully removing his hands while she stood.
"Where?"
"To see my mom. I'll tell you about it when I get back," she said, leaving the room.
"Wait, you haven't even finished your breakfast. Do you want some coffee?" he quickly asked before she was out of sight.
She turned and flashed him a seductive smile. "Don't ask me what I want Knox."
His brows rose along with a cheeky grin. "Oh, I'm coming up to join you in that shower."
"No you're not!" she squealed, realising Knox was charging towards her.
He chased her upstairs until they were both under the shower, hot and needy.

Gina descended the stairs, dressed and ready to go, venturing into the living room where she heard talking. Moving closer, she realised it was the television Knox was glued around.
Studying the screen, Gina's brows knitted as she tried to remember where she had seen the woman from.
"Hey," Knox said, briefly tearing his gaze from the t.v. to admire Gina. Seeing the expression on her face, he intervened. "Everything Okay?"
"I've seen her before. I just can't remember where," she said, taking a seat on the armrest of the sofa while she studied the petite blonde.
"Alexia Montague?" Knox exclaimed. "Well you've probably seen her on t.v. many times. She's an IT wiz and has recently developed a software that has the market in a frenzy. She's everywhere nowadays," Knox mused, returning his gaze to the screen.
Gina's brows rose when realisation dawned. "She was at our party. She's um..." she cleared her throat. "She's Fred's ex-wife."
That got Knox's attention. "That asshole Lawson. This woman is his ex-wife?" he asked, surprised.
Gina rolled her eyes at his choice of description. "Yes."
Knox scoffed. "I wonder what possible reason he had for leaving her."
Gina swallowed. "Who knows. Anyway, I better get going. I'll see you later," she said, quickly reaching down to kiss her on the cheeks.
"I'm heading over to the hospital in awhile. Maybe we could meet for lunch after?"
Gina smiled. "Sounds great. I'll call you when I'm done."
