"Quickly, over here!" I call out to everyone. Turns out that they were camping out in what remained from Downuda. (A/N- If you read the comics, then you'll know what I'm talking about) But it seems that Eggman's new crony found them.
   
    I was leading them to the tunnels that lead to New Knothole Village, which used to be the Chao Gardens. It didn't take long for Knuckles to page in and check on how I was doing;
"*Amy, everything alright?*" He asked.

"So far, so good. Did the distress signal tell you how many people were in need of assistance?" I spoke in my communicater.

"*At least 15 to 20 people should be present.*"

17, 18, 19... There was still one person missing.

  Just then, a woman starting calling out for the missing civilian.
"Have you seen my baby? Joshua?! Sweetheart where are you?! Please, someone? Anyone! Have you seen my son?!"
 
   She must've lost her grip on during all of the chaos. "Ma'am!"

   She quickly turns her attention to me. The frantic pregnant mother wolf quickly made her way towards me; "Oh, Ms. Rose!! H-have you seen my son? We were together when the attack started, b-but during everything, he somehow separated from me."

  "I can't say that I did, ma'am. Could you please give me a description as to what he looks like?"

   "O-oh! Yes. He's a light grey wolf pup, the most beautiful g-golden eyes you could feast your eyes on..." It didn't take long for her to start working her self up again. "I-I'm so sorry, during the beginning of all of this, I lost my husband to Eggman's robots... Joshua is the only one I have left, and I can't bear to loose him."

I put a hand on her shoulder;
  "There is no need for you to apologise to me, you're a worried mother and you have every right to be. I'm so sorry for your lost, but it's only a matter of time before we get the drop on old Egghead again. Now, what I need you to do is to take a seat, and some deep breaths, it's not healthy for you and for your baby."
 
She started to take some deep breaths and calmed down. I smiled to her; "Good, now if you'll excuse me, I have a wolf pup to get back to his worried mother."
  "God Bless you, Amy Rose."

   I was running as fast as I could to what was Downuda. Although in a rush, I still had to be quiet, just in case whoever attacked here, was still causing trouble.
  Not too far from the entrance to the tunnels were the regular EggPawns looking to prey upon anyone who wasn't able to reach the entrance on time. "Looks like crawling is my best option if I wanna to stay out of trouble." I thought to myself.
Soon enough, a sinister voice is the only thing that can be heard
  "Doctor, I found some pests that were taking refuge where the Former Downuda Freedom Fighters were headquartered."
"*Good going, Infinite. It seems that your reputation as a Bounty Hunter proceeds you. Now, quickly head over to HQ, so that we can discuss where more vermin are hiding.*"
   Infinite? By the looks of it, he must be a jackal, or coyote of some sort, I couldn't really get a good look at his face, because he's wearing some goofy looking helmet.
  "A Bounty hunter jackal, who goes by the name of Infinite... There should be something in the database about someone like that."
   
 "Very well, I'm on my way Doctor."

As "Infinite" was on his way back to wherever, he was hit in the back of the head with a stone

  "Who dares?"

  I look over to see a light grey wolf pup with bright golden eyes and another rock ready for take off. "What did you do to my mommy?! Where are my friends?!"

  "You insolent child! I'll make sure you don't live to regret that decision!" He lifted up his hand to prepare an attack.

"Shit..."

  Luckliy I managed to move fast enough for the both of us to dodge his attack.

  "You okay? Nothing broken?" I asked him.

  "Yes ma'am. I'm okay. Thank you."

   "Ah. One of the Resistance's core members... Amy Rose, I presume? My my, don't you look lovely? Such a shame I must dispose of you as well." He said, preparing another attack.

   I prepared my trusted Piko Piko Hammer; "Think again. No matter what, happens, keep this in mind, Eggman Empire's days are numbered, The Resistance is going to take you down."

   "So you might think." He threw an attack our way, but luckily, we managed to dodge it.  One after another, barrages of his attacks of crimson red we're after us. I'm just glad we have yet to be hit by them. But we're sitting ducks if all I do is dodge and worry about Joshua.

   "Joshua, go hide."

"Huh? But what about you?"

"I'll be- LOOK OUT!!" I pushed him out the way of Infinite's attack. Though I wish I could say the same for myself...
   
     "Huh? Nothing's happened? Guess he was all bark and no bite!"

    "Amy..."

   I looked behind me and Joshua and Infinite we're gone but we're replaced by someone else...

   "Amy... Please help me..."

   Tears sprung from my eyes... It couldn't be..

   "Sonic?!"

                  [End Amy's P.O.V]

    Amy stood dead still with a crimson red surrounding her head. Worried, Joshua came to check on her.

  "Miss...? Miss, are you okay?"

  "Don't worry, she'll be just fine. Here about you join her?"

  "CHAOS SPEAR!!"

  Infinite was thrown back due to force of the attack. While he was caught off guard, a two silhouettes came and grabbed Amy and the frightened wolf pup.

   "You okay kid?" A female voice asked him as they flew through the sky.

  "Yeah, but what about her?" He said pointing towards the incapacitated Amy being held in the dark stranger's arms.

  "Don't worry, she's going to be just fine, but you're going to have to stick with us if you want to get back to your family."

   "Why?"

    "Because she," motioning towards Amy, "is the only one who knows where your family and friends are hiding, we need to wait untill she's in a right state of mind."

   "Oh... Do you know when she's going to snap out of it?"

   "Don't worry, it won't be long before you get back to your family. I swear Bat's honor."

"Really?"

"Yup" She winked.

"W-where are we going?"

   The dark stranger then answered his question; "We are going to take the two of you to a safe haven, it will be easy for the Empire to spot us while in the sky, so we will go on foot. You've had a long day, it'd be best if you go to sleep."

  "O-okay. thank you both."

"No problem kid, now get your rest."

It didn't take long for the pup to fall asleep in the woman's arms.

"Poor thing."

[Shadow's P.O.V]

  That bastard, he first spoils my name that I had tried so much to revive after the Black Arms attack, my assistance with all the wars, it doesn't matter, no matter how much I try to help people, and they still hate me because I "help" that bastard, that we're buddies. They couldn't be anymore wrong. In fact it's the complete opposite, he hates me and vice versa. After what he did to Omega, siding with the Doctor, and know this...

  Rose is shaking to her core. I don't think she's even blinked ever since she was caught in his attack. What was she thinking? Going head to head with that psycho?! I've got to snap her out of it.

  "Rouge, stop real quick."

  "What's up?"

"I've got to release her from this hold..."

"..."

  I stood her up, the only way to snap her out it is for some "physical" influence. Believe it or not, Rose is honestly one of the last people I want to cause harm to. But this is for her betterment so... I took a step back and punched her in the stomach.

  I didn't use a lot of force, but as the the Ultimate Life Form, I am stronger than the average mobian despite holding back, and she was caught off guard. Though I didn't enjoy hitting her, especially when she couldn't defend herself, I knew she could take it...

"Geez... You sure you didn't knock her out with that attack?" Rouge questioned.

"Relax, she should snap out of it in a moment, the worst I did was make her winded." Not for long though...

"WHAT T-" I quickly covered her mouth, I forgot about her loud personality.

"Quiet, we are in enemy territory, don't blow our cover."

She scoffed; "Nice to see you too, Shadow- wait... enemy territory? But I thought that-"

Rouge quickly explained the situation, Rose still looked shaken up by the attack. Like she had seen a ghost...

"Okay, But that doesn't explain what I saw, and why."

"We can't really release information about certain things, but if you explain what you saw, then that could really help us out." 

"As much as I would like to help the two of you, I can't really reveal, what I saw. Despite the fact that you two saved me and the kid, which I am grateful for, by the way, I still don't know whether or not to treat you guys as enemies or allies."

"Fair enough."

"You could at least explain why you were going up against that maniac? You at least owe us that much." I told her.

 "O-okay. I was on a rescue mission, this little guy was the last one I had to help get back to their family, but before I could find him and lead him to safety, in a moment of weakness, he engaged Infinite, so I jumped in to help him."

"Hmph..."

"Look guys, I really appreciate the help, but I've gotta get this kid back to his mother. So I'm going to take him and get back to what I do."

"And that would be?" 

"Classified information. Catch you guys later..."

She quickly grabbed the pup and headed in the opposite direction we were going.

"That girl..."

"Why are you so upset?"

"We are trying to help her and the rest of the Resistance, but only the echidna knows."

"Seems to me like you wanted her to let us help out."

"I'm not as heartless as everyone assumes Rouge."

"I know."
