Book Of Circus ~ 6

"I do recall telling you that you are not allowed to wander about without your master." Suit tells Black as I lie lifelessly in his arms. Something tells me that these two are not human at all. But I am too tired to worry about that right now. All I really want to do is fall asleep.

"Do you really want to do this here? In sight of a child? My master has me running errands just as he ordered. Of course, you can understand that." Black smirks.

"I could care less to what happens that human child in your arms. You must go back to the tent immediately. I will not allow you to roam freely."

"So be it." Black looks at me and whispers in my ear. "Would you mind closing your eyes, miss? I do not want you to see this." He pulls away and I do what he says. I slowly close my eyes and he holds me closer in his arms, and all I can feel is movement. Black was moving a lot for some reason and I kept hearing this clinging sound.

After a few moments, I feel Black stop moving around and hear something connect with flesh. As if a limb as been stabbed by a sharp object. However, doing what Black has asked me to, my eyes remain. "I will say it again. I will not allow you to move freely at your own will without your master present." I hear Suit's voice.

"Perhaps you are misunderstanding the situation. This child needs medical attention and my master has ordered me to make her well again, and that is what I must do as his butler. We can do this all night, but this child I have in my arms here, will die very soon. You and I both know that." Black gives out a dark chuckle.

He isn't wrong. I could end up dying in his arms without the attention I need. I can already feel myself sweating and it's getting hard for me to breathe with every little breath I take. It's so hot. . . I give out a slight whimper as I feel myself slipping away. I felt like I was blacking out.

"Oh, alright. Looks like there is no other way around it. And the child's soul is not scheduled yet. I guess, I will let this pass just this once. You are free to go, demon." Demon? Is that what Black is. . . ? Ugh. I'm too tired to think right now.

"Thank you very much." Black carries me off and I can finally open my eyes. Black gives me a worried look, knowing that time is running out for me. "I must hurry." He says out loud. Black takes me to this huge house and takes me to a bedroom. He lies me down on the bed and gently removes my circus outfit and places me in a white long sleeve nightgown. "Oh my, what have we here?" He sees my broken legs that are now swollen. "I need to snap the bone in place, my lady. Please, bare with what I am about to do." He frowns and places his hands on my leg.

SNAP

He snaps the bone back in place. I flinch a bit because of the pain and take in a deep breath.

SNAP

He does the same treatment to the other leg. He bandages both of my legs and put an IV in my arm. I can slowly feel myself moving again within the hours. Black took my temperature, my vitals, and my blood pressure. He was like a doctor. Better than the one from the circus.

"There we are, nice and well again. Mostly. This new drug I dosed you with will keep you stabilized. Do not attempt to remove if when you are able to move again. This will help you a lot better than the muscle relaxer. Do you understand?" Black tells me and I give him a slight nod. "Do get your rest and sleep as long as you want. If you need anything, an acquaintance of mine will come to your assistance."

I nod my head before dozing off to sleep. I feel a little bit better thanks to Black, but there are questions in my head that I want answered. But not right now. . . Sleep is all I want at this moment.

"I don't want to be here! Let me go!" I scream. "You're crazy! Someone please help!" I scream louder.

"No! You must stay! You are beautiful! Please, say that you will stay!" He shouts back as he grabs my wrist, pulling me towards him. "I cannot lose you! I want to protect you!"

"No!" I struggle. I feel something on the right side of neck. Then I fall to the ground, unable to move.

"I. . . I-I won't let you go back out there! It's not safe. You are better off here with me and my children." He smirks at me. "You are under my control now and I'm not letting you go~" He laughs at me. "You are mine now. You will move at my will from now on. . . My sweet Marionette~"

No. . . This can't be happening to me. . . I don't want this. . . Somebody. . . Anybody. . . Please, save me. . .

My eyes snap open and look around. It was morning. It was bright out. So it wasn't a dream. All of that happened. Black had taken me to this fancy house and took care of me. I am no longer at the circus. I can move again, but as not much.

Tea is set on the dresser beside me and it looks like it's been already made. I slowly take the tea cup and take a sip. It's sweet and warm.

"Ciel! Where have you been!? You have been gone for 2 days and didn't bother to tell anybody!" I hear someone's voice from downstairs. It was an Indian accent.

"It is very good to see you." Another, much older, voice is heard. Also an Indian accent.

"Where I have been is none of your business." Smile is here too?

"How is she?" Black questions.

"The girl is sleeping soundly upstairs in the guest bedroom. I have left some tea, with a tint of honey, in case she wanted something to drink when she wakes up." The older Indian man replies.

"Very good." Black replies back and Smile coughs.

"What is wrong? You look as pale as a ghost!" The young Indian man exclaims.

"Nothing, I am fine. Leave me be." Smile coughs.

"It sounds serious! I think you are lying! You obviously caught a very bad cold. Do you have a fever too?"

"No. No fever." Smile coughs again.

"You are lying again!"

"No, I'm not." Everything is quiet from there on out. I take another sip of the tea and place it back on the small plate. The tea was very sweet and the Indian man was right. It did have a little bit of honey in it. But. . . What will happen when Joker and the others find out that I am not in my tent? They will be angry! He will be angry. . .

After 30 minutes later, Smile and Black enter into the room I am in. This time they are dressed very nicely. Of course. . . They are noblemen's. I saw them dressed in something similar to this when they first watched the first performance. "She seems well." Smile says to Black.

"I did what you asked of me, my Lord. I made sure she was taken cared of." Black places his hand on his chest with a smile on his face as he bows. Smile walks over to me and sits on the edge of the bed as he looks at me closely. It made me feel uncomfortable until Smile spoke again. "Can you speak now?"

"Yes." I say in a sweet, angelic voice. My voice was always like that and as he can tell, I didn't speak much.

"Good. I'm glad that you are feeling better, because I have a few questions to ask you."

"As do I." I say and close my eyes. "But I will be more than willing to answer your questions. . . as long as you answer mine. Do we have a deal?" I open my eyes again.

"Of course." Smile nods his head. "My first question: What I found in your trunk, the photo I showed you, what happened? How did you end up in the circus? Sebastian told me you were taken."

"Yes. . ." I frown. "I remember. . . I would sometimes sneak out of the building to see watch the starry night sky. I wouldn't go far from the orphanage. I never did. But that's when one night I heard music. It was like a calling. . . So, I went searching for it. But I was fool. . . I never should have followed that noise. All of it was a trap. . ." I clench on the bedsheets and Smile rests his hand on mine.

"Take your time, Moon."

I nod and keep going. "I first met Joker in the alley and he held up flowers to me. He was so kind and he put on a show for me. The others did all these fascinating things that I couldn't look away. It was like a Wonderland. . . But Joker called it Dreamland. A carriage pulled up and I got in. I knew I shouldn't have, but my body wouldn't listen to me. Dreamland had ended for me and I found myself in this house. From what I can remember, it was called Workhouse."

"Just like from the photo." Smile added and I nodded.

"I was taken to this man covered in bandages. He was scary and I wanted to run. But I couldn't because Joker held me still. . ." I close my eyes and begin to cry, but a frown was not on my face. "The man kept screaming at me, saying he wanted to protect me and how it's not safe in the outside world. His screaming made me even more scared of him than I already was. I refused his offer and said I wanted to go back. But he wouldn't let me. . . That's when he injected me with this drug. I couldn't move and I was forced to move at his well. . . That's how I got my circus name. . . The Marionette."

I wipe my tears and open my eyes again to look at Smile. "So the first ringers had you drugged to make sure you stuck with your circus name." He assumed and nodded, letting him know what he is correct.

"And when you are saying he, you are mentioning the Mad Man you told me earlier?" Black steps in and I nod to him.

"Everyday. Every 2 hours. But when Black was in my tent and when Joker had walked in, he doubled the dosage so it was every 4 hours. And then when Joker knew that I was moving again. . . He broke my legs. . ." I removed the covers from my legs to reveal the damage on my limbs, then pulled the covers back over them. "I tried many times to escaped, but I just couldn't get away. My hopes of freedom were thrown out the window."

"Moon, I need your help in this investigation. Sebastian and I have enough evidence from what we've seen at the circus. Now you need to tell us where the children are. The other children that were taken away. Do you know where they are hiding?" Smile questions and I nod my head once more.

"They are at the Workhouse with the him. The Mad Man. . . But they are not themselves. Their eyes are not human anymore. They all look like broken dolls like I was when I was drugged. They do what he asks as if they were his children. . . I cannot say what else has happened. I could only see what was happening in the Workhouse."

"We understand, Moon. Thank you. And you do not have to worry about that man or the circus anymore. You are free now. We will keep you safe." Smile tells me.

"Which reminds me. . . You have to answer some of my questions too. That was part of the deal, yes?"

"Indeed. So, ask away, Moon."

"When Black first came into my tent, he said I was one of the missing children and told me that I have been missing for 2 years, I saw something in his shadow. What was it? I am no idiot and I did certainly not imagine anything. Black is not human. So I will ask this once. What exactly is Black? Who are you people really? I saw you the first night at the performance when we arrived to London."

Both Smile and Black look at each other before looking back at me. "Do you really want to know what Sebastian really is?"

"Sebastian. . . ?" I whisper, repeating Black's real name. "Yes." I nod my head.

"Sebastian is a demon, Moon. He is not human at all. He is just merely my demon butler. And as for I, my name is Ciel Phantomhive. Head of the Phantomhive household. Owner of the Funtom Toy Company, that serves under the Queen."

"So. . . You decided to fraud yourselves as lowlife people to get into the circus to discover the secret of what Joker and the others were doing?" I tilt my head to the right.

"You are correct, Miss Moon." Black- I mean, Sebastian, smiles at me.

"And who was Suit?" I asked.

"Just a reaper. You do not need to know about that right now." Sebastian gives me a suspicious look, but I ignore it. I think him and I were thinking the same thing of what Suit told us both. . . .

I am not scheduled to die yet.
