Book Of Circus ~ 10

I woke up back in the guest bedroom and my head was hurting a lot. What happened to me last night? Did what happen really happen? My legs are still in bandages and so does my arms because of the tiny holes from the needles.

What I do remember is that Ciel, Sebastian, and I went to the Workhouse and confronted Kelvin about the kidnappings. Afterwards, he threw on a show that had the children kill themselves and each other. I led Ciel and Sebastian to the room the children were being held and. . . What did happen after that? I'm so confused.

I hear a knock at the door and Sebastian had entered with a warm welcoming smile on his face. "Ah, you're finally awake. The young master was beginning to worry." He tells me as he closes the door.

"What happened to me?" I ask tiredly as the headache continues.

"You don't remember what happened to you? What you turned into?" He raised an eyebrow and I shake my head. Am I suppose to remember something?

Sebastian sighs and walks over to the bed, then leans down to my height. He was very close to my face that our noses could touch. "You honestly don't know what happened the other night, do you?"

"N-Not really?" I shake my head again. "But. . . I do remember changing into something. . . I don't remember."

"Well then, I hope you are feeling well enough. We are on our way to the mansion, would you like to come with us? The young master would like for you to join us on the trip."

"Um, sure." I nod my head and Sebastian smiles at me, leaning back to his height.

"Glad to hear it. The young Lord is waiting downstairs for you. Shall I dress you?"

"Of course." It's not like I have a choice because I can't even dress myself. I'm use to Joker and the others dressing me. After Sebastian dresses me, he places a full body mirror in front of me so that I can look at myself. I gasp at the beauty of the dress he has placed on me, since black happens to suit me very well. "Sebastian, thank you! It's wonderful!" I smile.

"I'm glad it is to your liking. I made it just for you, my lady." He smiles back.

"You made this dress all by yourself? That's incredible. Thank you so much!"

"You are very welcome. Now then, shall we see the young master now?" He questions and I nod my head. He gently picks me up bridal style and takes me downstairs where Ciel is waiting for us.

"How are you feeling from last night, Moon?" Ciel asks as Sebastian carries me down the stairs.

"I am doing quite well, thank you." I reply.

"Good. Let's get moving, shall we?" We take a carriage ride to the train station and Sebastian ends up carrying me there the entire trip since I can not walk yet. He helps me inside the carriage, then carries me to the train station on his shoulders. Sebastian buys an orange from this sweet little girl before we go inside one of the train carts. Afterwards, he sets me down next to Ciel. "Moon, do you recall anything from last night?" Ciel questions me.

"I told Sebastian the same thing that I felt a sudden change. I cannot remember anything else after that.

"I figured you might say that, considering you fainted on us." Ciel sighs. I fainted? When? "Then do you know what this is?" He looks at Sebastian who takes out a black book with the title covered in dust. "Sebastian found this when we returned to the townhouse. I assume you know what it is."

"I'm not sure. . ." I was a bit confused by this, but I took the book from Sebastian hands it to me. I blow the dust that was covering the title and I blink a few times. "The Tales of Dark Magic!" I exclaim. "Where did you find it?"

"Before the Workhouse was in complete ashes, I managed to grab a hold of it. Your eyes did wonder to the bookshelf, in one of the opened bedrooms, when Joker was leading us to Lord Kelvin. Your eyes were staring at it for a quite a while before we had entered the dining room." Sebastian explained.

"Moon, after you killed Kelvin, you turned into something. Something that wasn't you. It was. . . a puppet of some sort. No. A Marionette to be exact. You also killed the doctor of the circus when you were in that form."

"I don't understand." I look over at Ciel before looking back at the book. "But I do remember seeing this kind of book when Joker locked me in a bedroom. I entertained myself by reading the books that were in that while they brought me food. This book was the most interesting one I found because of the title."

"Are you aware of what is in that book, Miss Moon?" Sebastian questions.

"I thought it was just a silly story, but I was fascinated by the tales. . . Here! This one! I read this line here! I remember for sure." I point to the words that were written in Latin. Seeing how Sebastian is a demon, I know he can understand any language.

"This is a spell for a suffering soul that wants to take revenge or that holds a grudge against the people they hate."

"And after she read those words out loud, it must have stuck with her." Ciel finishes Sebastian's sentence before turning his attention to me. "Moon, you had transformed into something that killed those people from the Workhouse. Don't you remember?"

I stare at the spell that was written in the book and sudden images flash in my head. My hair was black. My eyes were black with the pupils white, and I was wearing something black and white with face paint on me cheeks. I can see myself torturing Joker and killing the doctor. That was me. . . !

"I remember. . ." I whisper. "I remember all of it now." I close my eyes while closing the book and setting it on my lap. "What you saw what another me. The curse of this spell. I'm not sure how I triggered it, but it turned me into something else."

"You soul changed because of the spell and the curse that came along with it. You've held a grudge for so long that you wanted more to kill. That's when you changed into that Marionette." Sebastian's eyes glow to the demonic color. I was shocked and terrified at what I had just discovered. Does that make me some kind of monster?

"It's going to be alright, Moon." Ciel places his hand over my shaking one. "You don't have to fear anything." He gives me a kind smile. "I actually have a proposal for you."

"Huh?" I blink a few times.

"Seeing what you have endured and been through throughout these years, I would you like you to come live with me at the Phantomhive estate. A token for helping us find the culprits and the children of this case. I promise you will be safe there. Nobody will hurt you ever again."

"But what about the Marionett-"

"We'll worry about that when we need to. You are an intelligent young lady, Moon, and I would like for you to lend me your knowledge." He cuts me off and continues to give me the kind smile.

"You really mean it?" I smile at him.

"It will be my pleasure. You'll be working with me as my partner and I will give the Queen a good report about you."

"Thank you!" I hug him as tears begin to well up in my eyes. I cried out of joy. I finally had a place to live and I know that I will not be alone anymore. I am safe now.

The End
