*Shawn's POV*

I angrily made my way to the prison where the cultists were being held. I went inside and showed my badge to the receptionist. ''Shawn Shaigai, I want to have a little chat with the leader of the newly captured cultists.''

They let me into a room with a chair in front of a big window. On the other side they let in the cultist leader and we both sat down to talk to each other.

''Well, well, well, look who it is. The detective's little assistant. What has brought you here today?'' He said while smiling deviantly.

''You know very fucking well why I'm here!'' I said. ''Spit it out, what have you done to Waluigi?!''

''Oh, so it worked after all.'' He chuckled. ''I just gave our lord and saviour a fresh body to inhabit.''

''How do I get him out?!'' I said as I gritted my teeth in anger.

''Why would I answer that?'' He smiled. ''Saebor is meant to rule this world, your detective friend should be honored to be his body.''

''I'll have you know that you are under police surveilance. If you don't answer the questions I'm asking you then it will have very bad consequences.'' I said angrily.

''I'm still not telling you. Saebor will rule the world, I stay loyal to him until I die.'' The leader said and crossed his arms.

''Well, that can be arranged.'' I said. ''Look into my eyes.''

''What?''

''Look into my eyes.'' I repeated.

He stared to stare right into my eyes and laughed. ''Hey, buddy. Your eyes are under a mask. Aren't Shy Guys shy? Why would you want someone to look at you anyway?''

I slowly grabbed the edge of my mask while still staring at him. I slowly pulled my mask off of my face, the Dry Bones eyes widened and started shaking, but he couldn't look away. I made sure of it, as long as my concentration was all on him.

''H-Hey... stop... what are you... what is that...?'' He couldn't move. I continued to stare at him. ''So, buddy. You still want to say something?'' I asked.

He started letting out some whimpers. ''N-No! Never! Stop... p-please!''

I concentrated harder. His body started to move in weird ways, he started breathing heavily. ''Tell me what makes Saebor go away from my friend or your own fear will destroy you.'' I said calmly.

''NO!'' He yelled. ''No, no, no, no, no!''

A tough nut to crack, heh, we'll see about that. He'll talk eventually.

The Dry Bones let out screams and cries until his body started to shake tremedously. ''OKAY! I'LL TELL YOU! PLEASE STOP!''

''There we go.'' I said as I let out an evil chuckle and put my mask on again. ''So what do I have to do to make Saebor leave Waluigi?''

The leader breathed heavily as he stared at me with a gigantic fear in his eyes. ''T-The way to make him go away is to sacrifice a strong feeling.''

''What do you mean?'' I asked.

''I mean that someone that means alot to the detective has to commit suicide. A friend, a lover, someone with deep connections to him. And he'll have to watch them do it, Saebor doesn't care about anything or anyone. If very strong sad feelings run through the body he posesses he cannot be inside of it, he'll have to go back to his own realm again.''

Is he serious? Someone had to sacrifice themselves to get Saebor to go away?

''That's all I wanted to know, thank you for your cooperation.'' I said and left the room. On the way back I started thinking on how we could solve this. Someone who has deep connections to Waluigi. Rosalina is out of the question, if she died then Waluigi would never get over it. Wario can't be killed, let's be honest. He's survived a fall from a thousand metres because he ate some cake and his teeth started to hurt, and afterwards he fell through a building as well to top it all off. I don't think that any of the princesses work either, or Mario or Luigi for that matter.

Who could-...

Wait... maybe I can do it? B-But... he would be devastated. And I don't think that I want to die... but Waluigi needs help... But what about him? I can't leave him all alone?

*Waluigi's POV*

''Daisy, I'm saying it for the thousand time now: I can't control Saebor! It was he who bit you, not me!'' I sighed.

''I know that you don't like me already, maybe Saebor knew that and did it when he got the chance?''

''Come on, Daisy. Calm down, he's made it clear that he can't control Saebor.'' Peach said and grabbed Daisy by the shoulders.

This argue could keep on going forever. I wonder where Shawn went. He sounded pretty serious when he said that he had some buisness to take care of, and he looked a little angry. I hope that he's alright, he's been gone for a while now.

''Hey, Shawn's back!'' Wario stated and we all turned our gazes to the exit. There Shawn was, looking rather sad. ''Mario, Luigi, can I speak to you for a moment?'' He said.

Mario and Luigi followed him outside and we were left quietly wondering what had happened. Soon Shawn, Mario and Luigi came back and opened up my cell door. ''Come on.'' They said.

''Wait, what are you doing?'' I asked them confused.

''Just come on.'' Mario said. I followed them outside and we started walking for a long while. The princesses and Wario was as clueless as myself of where we were headed. Neither Shawn, Mario or Luigi would say anything to us. After a long walk we were up on the mountain near Mushroom City, Mario and Luigi grabbed my arms and tightly held onto them. Were they afraid that I was going to run away?

''Hey, what's going on?'' Wario and Peach asked. Shawn stepped in front of me with his back turned against the incredible view of the city. ''Waluigi, I'm your friend, right?''

''Of course you are!'' I said like it was obvious. ''You're my most precious friend in the whole world.''

''Then do you trust me on making the right decision?''

''What decision?'' I asked. ''Shawn, why are you acting weird?''

A small tear started to fall from under his mask. ''Goodbye.'' He said.

He ran to the edge of the cliff and jumped off. Time felt like it had stopped completely when I saw his body dissapear from my sight.

''SHAWN!'' I screamed as loud as my lungs would let me.
