*Shawn's POV*

Me and Wario walked along the sidewalk keeping our ears sharpened. Waluigi had to be here somewhere!

''Hey, Shawn.'' Wario said. ''How long has he been like this?''

''I don't know.'' I sighed sadly. ''This was the first time that I saw him like that. I couldn't believe my own eyes.''

''Maybe this was the cause of him feeling sick?''

''Maybe, I'm not sure. This is all just a mess right now.'' I replied.

Then we heard some growls. We looked everywhere but could see where it came from. The growls became louder every minute and soon it sounded like it was right next to us. My heart was beating extremely fast, this demon Waluigi would show no mercy if he found and attacked us. He had changed and was no longer the Waluigi I knew, he wouldn't think twice about hurting even his best friend or his own brother.

''You're so dumb...'' A voice spoke, we couldn't figure out the source of it. ''You think that you can save your friend? Pathetic!''

Wario and I turned around numerous times to try to find whoever was talking to us, I was sure that it was Waluigi, it sounded like him. But how can such a long guy go unseen?

''You abbandoned him, Shawn.'' It taunted me. ''You abbandoned your best friend and let him be thrown into jail.''

I felt tears starting to well up in my eyes. ''Nol...'' I said in denial. ''I-I didn't abbandon him... I just did my job!''

''But was your job more important than your friendship?''

''Cut it out!'' Wario yelled. ''We're not afraid of you! You're not the Waluigi I know!''

''Oh, what a mess you've gotten yourself into, brother.''

Wario let out a small gasp. ''Yes, you've always wanted me to call you brother, don't you?'' the demon said.

He landed quietly in front of us and smiled while reaching out his hand. ''Wario, I can keep it that way if you'll join me. You can spend countless of hours together with a brother than now finally loves you, you'll get as much gold as you desire. Just take my hand and we can start making a new and better future together... as brothers.''

Wario thought for a moment while staring aimlessly at Waluigi who had now turned his nice smile into a sinister one. I grabbed Wario by the arm. ''Wario, don't be fooled! He's lying! I know it!'' I said, only to get pushed away by him. He stared at me angrily for a moment before slowly going closer to Waluigi.

''No!'' I yelled, but it wasn't enough to stop him. He paused for a second, then grabbed Waluigi's hand. Waluigi chuckled. ''You made the right choice.'' He said proudly.

''No.'' Wario said.

''Wah?'' Waluigi asked with a slight confused look.

''YOU made the WRONG choice.''

Wario pulled Waluigi towards him and managed to get ahold of him by holding his arm around his neck. Waluigi hissed, snarled, flapped his wings and started flailing his claws around, anything to get out of Wario's strong grip. ''Shawn, go get the others!'' Wario yelled. I immediately got up and running. I think that the others heard us because they were already heading our way. Waluigi started biting on Wario's arm and it started to bleed really badly. Wario grunted as he tried not to let go despite the incredible pain he had to be feeling at that moment.

''What do we do?!'' Peach exclaimed.

''I don't know! But we have to act fast or else Wario's going to let go!'' I said.

''Does anyone have a purple mushroom?'' Luigi asked. Mario quickly started searching in his pockets and found one, how convenient. He passed it to Luigi and Luigi quickly crushed it against Waluigi's face. After a moment he started to calm down and in the end he fell asleep.

''Good thinking, Luigi!'' Mario cheered.

''T-Thanks M-Mario...'' He said as he scratched his neck.

Wario started to carry Waluigi back to the station, we got him into a new cell and stayed with him all night to make sure that he wouldn't get out again. The two guards that were knocked out before had now awakened and told us how he got out, he seemed to have gotten some extra strength while in his demon form and he could bend the bars if he really concentrated. Wario's arm was badly injured, Waluigi's sharp teeth had enabled him to chew all the way to the bone. We cleaned and bandaged it up as soon as we found the first aid kit, same with Daisy's wound on her shoulder. Soon the sun was rising and some of the sunshine managed to get into Waluigi's cell. It hit his arm and a sizzling sound could be heard. We quickly moved his body away from the sunshine and saw that his arm now had a burn on it. So that's where those burn marks came from.

Waluigi then started whimpering and we thought that he was waking up and prepared ourselves for the worst. But he didn't wake up, he just kept making painful sounds as his wings started to shrink back into his back again. His skin became normal and his teeth shrunk back to their normal sizes. It sounded so painful for Waluigi to change like that when you could hear the sounds escaping from his mouth. It was like he was crying for help, speaking of crying. His eyes started to water as well, alot, as if he was emptying his eyes from tears.

'*What the hell's happening with him?'' Wario growled. ''This is really weird.''

''It has to be the cultists.'' I said while not letting my eyes wander off from Waluigi for one second. ''They've probably done something to him that forces this to happen to him.''

''Hmm...'' Waluigi groaned. I got closer to him and looked at him as he woke up and opened his eyes. They were red from all the crying and he looked at me confused.

*Waluigi's POV*

For a moment I actually though that I was home before I opened my eyes and realized that I was still in the prison cell. But... why were all of my friends here? Shawn was right in front of me staring intensely at me, Wario, Mario and Luigi was behind him. Why did Wario have a bandage around his arm? Did he get hurt? And why were Peach and Daisy here too?

''Shawn?'' I asked.

Everyone's attention was drawn to me, they stared at me for a long time without saying anything. What worried me was that they didn't really look happy, more afraid than anything, actually.

''What's going on?'' I said confused over what was happening.

Shawn took a step forward and took a deep breath. ''Waluigi... don't you remember?''

''Remember what?'' I asked. ''I remeber being thrown in here last night, if that's what you mean.''

''No, like... when you changed?''

I had no idea of what they were talking about. ''What?''

''Waluigi, last night you changed into a demon and broke out of prison.'' Mario explained.

''Yeah, you were pretty crazy.'' Wario said.

I stared at Wario's bandaged arm. ''Did... Did I do that?'' I asked carefully and pointed at it. Wario nodded slowly. ''You chewed all the way to the bone.''

I shuddered at the thought. How could I do that? ''I-I'm so sorry, I don't remember anything but I hope you're okay!''

''It's okay, bro.'' He shortly answered.

''It seems like you change into a demon at night.'' Peach said. ''But you don't remember anything of it. Did the cultists do anything to you?''

I thought for a moment. ''Well, the only time I was physically hurt by them was that night before we arrested some of them.''

''What did they do?'' Luigi asked.

''Their leader attacked me and spoke some weird words while he punched me in the chest.'' I explained. ''But that can't be the reason behind, can it?''

''Wait here.'' Shawn said as he walked off. ''I'll be back soon. I've got some buisness to take care of.''
