I had been in this situation a thousand times before. Nothing was new to me, the cold walls and floor of a cell, the silence, everything about it was just like I remembered it. I sat leaned against the wall while trying to remember anything that connects to what I was guilty for. But no matter how hard I tried I couldn't remember anything. I don't understand how that... creature could be me! This whole thing was ridiculous! But what hurt the most right now was that even Shawn, my best friend, was heartbroken while finding out about this. While the Hammer Bros arrested me and took me away I could hear Shawn quietly sob behind me. I didn't mean for any of this to happen, I would never in my life willingly hurt a citizen!

I saw through the small window of my cell that the moon was slowly rising up, I figured that it was time for me to sleep. I laid down on the shabby cell bed and closed my eyes, hoping that this was all just a dream.

*Shawn's POV*

I couldn't believe it, all this time... Waluigi was the one we were looking for all along. I didn't want to believe it but it was hard not to since he was clearly visible on the camera tape. He and the cultists have caused so much damage and sorrow to others that it was unbelievable.

No, I have to question him myself. I have to hear it from himself, I have to hear him say that he was guilty in order to believe it.

I quietly went to the cells, they were all empty except for one... where HE was. But as I got closer to him I saw that he was already fast asleep. Should I wake him up? No, he's had enough for today. I'll just ask him tomorrow instead.

I sneaked away again. But as I was getting closer to the exit I could hear something coming from Waluigi's cell. It sounded like a quiet and long groan, very dark in tone. I went to look at what was happening and saw that Waluigi started moving, was he waking up?

He behaved very strangely, he rolled out of the bed and fell down onto the floor, letting out a quick whimper. His eyes were still closed though.

''Waluigi...?'' I asked carefully. Maybe he was a sleepwalker or something?

Waluigi seemed to notice my voice and turned his head towards me, still not opening his eyes. He started to crawl on all four all around the cell fastly while letting out angry growls. What was happening?

''Waluigi are you okay?'' I asked him. He started letting out loud roars, I covered my ears as I stared at him with a little fear in my eyes. He sounded like he was in pain, then he started to scream even more, causing the guards to come in and check on what was going on. Two large wings sprouted out from Waluigi's back and made some blood splatter around him. His fingers started to grow claws and his skin started to change colour from his normal skintone to a light purple one.

''What's happening?!'' The guards asked scared. ''I don't know!'' I replied as I stared in horror of what was going on.

Waluigi seemed to cry, tears were coming out of his closed eyes, his teeth started to grow as well into sharp bear teeth. Soon he stopped making sounds and sat quietly on the floor.

''Waluigi...?'' I said while getting one step closer to the cell bars. He finally opened his eyes, they were glowing yellow and were similar to a cat's eyes in appearence. And not a second later he threw himself towards me, only to be stopped my the bars between us. He reached out his hands, trying to grab me but I backed away quickly. He growled like a wild animal while not giving up on his prey. What was this?

''This looks bad.'' The guards said. ''Really bad.''

''We should contact Mario, this looks like something that only he can solve.'' I said.

The guards quickly got out their phones to contact Mario, but he wasn't answering. I told them to keep an eye on Waluigi while I'd go to Peach's castle for help. I got to my car and drove as fast as the law would let me until I arrived at Peach's castle, I ran to the entrance and knocked really hard to let them know that it was urgent. Toadsworth opened the door and recognized me instantly. He let me in and told me that the princess were in the dining room. I ran there as fast as possible and saw Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy and Wario all sitting around a big table with quite a feast ahead of them. They all gasped when they saw me. ''Shawn? What are you doing here?'' Peach asked. ''Is something wrong?'' Luigi added.

I gasped for air as I tried to tell them what was going on. ''Waluigi! There's something wrong with him! We need help!''

Mario went up to me and tried to calm me down. ''Calm down, Shawn. What has happened to Waluigi?''

''I-I don't k-know! H-He has changed into some kind of... d-demon! I don't know what to do, I need your help!''

Everybody nodded and smiled with determination. ''We'll help you. Where's Waluigi?'' They asked.

''At the station in a prison cell, I left two guards there to keep an eye on him!''

We started heading out of the castle and towards the station again. I tried to explain what happened on the way but nothing of what I said made any sense, this was like someone had brought a ghost story to life. When we all arrived at the station I gasped at the sight. The entrance doors were bashed open and broken. Everything inside were a mess and as we made our way in we saw the two guards lying knocked out on the floor in front of a cell with its bars bent open.

''Waluigi must've gotten away!'' I yelled and hurried back out to the street. ''He could be anywhere!''

''We'll split up to look for him!'' Mario said. ''Shawn, you go with Wario. Luigi go with Daisy and I'll go with Peach!''

We did as Mario told us and we all separated to go look for Waluigi.

*Luigi and Daisy*

''You think that Waluigi has really turned into a demon?'' Luigi asked Daisy while trembling a bit.

''I don't believe it until I see it!'' Daisy said. ''Shawn probably just overreacted a little bit.''

They walked down a dark alley quietly. Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary, but they felt like they were being watched. Then out of nowhere; Waluigi flew right towards Daisy to attack her. She managed to evade him and catch him by holding her arms around his waist. He snarled and tried to get out of her strong grip as Luigi tried to calm him down, but then he managed to turn his head and bite down hard into Daisy's shoulder. She screamed at the pain and let go of him, making him completely free to do whatever he pleased. But instead of trying to attack her again he flew away with the help of his big bat wings.

''What the hell?!'' Daisy cried in pain. ''That was Waluigi?!''

Luigi started to see if the bite wound was bad. It was bleeding a bit but it would probably be okay if they got ahold of a red mushroom.

''Daisy, we have to find the others and tell them that he's dangerous!'' Luigi exclaimed. ''he can hurt them really bad!''
