The Preparation

It was time. Finally time to pack your shit and head off to your first tour with KDA. Today was actually a hectic day for you already, so you just wanted all of this to be over with as soon as possible. You drove the moving truck down the street with the radio playing some random station you found.

You've been up since 4 and went to go pick up the truck for the movers. Since you were heading out of the country, you knew you had to pack everything you weren't taking and put it somewhere safe. Or, at least Joyce said that. You've never done this before. Normally when you left a country for another country, you just packed up a bag and headed out.

You parked the truck in the front of the house and sighed as you took the keys out and hopped out. Joyce said to pack all the valuable stuff you had and move it to his storage locker. Leaving a house like this open for so long is just calling for burglars to come in and take everything.

You flipped the keys around your finger as you approached the three movers.

Mover: Ay, yo! You the guy?

You nodded and tossed them the keys.

Y/N: You got a truck, please be careful with everything.

Mover: You got it, boss.

Him and his guys moved to look at the truck while you headed inside. You had told everyone to be packed and ready by today. You meant it. You walked in and saw everyone making last minute preparations. Packed boxes were scattered everywhere.

Y/N: You all packed?

Eve: Everything is accounted for.

Kai'sa: Yeah. I actually moved some stuff out already.

Akali: Akali is ready to go.

Ahri: I bet you think you're slick.

You and the other girls looked at her as she typed on her phone. She then pointed at the small box behind her. You raised a brow and walked over to it. It looked like this was your stuff. You did pack this box last night, anyway.

You then saw the gun that was laying there. The same one Raken gave you.

Ahri: I don't want guns in this house. We don't even need guns and I'm, like, 95% sure it isn't legal.

You rolled your eyes and grabbed your backpack. You then stuffed it in there.

Y/N: Yeah, I don't want it either. I'll get rid of it before we head out.

You threw your backpack over with your other bags and sighed. Totoro hopped on your shoulder and you looked over to see that the guinea pigs also had their bags packed.

Y/N: Alright, everyone got their passports for when we have to cross over to Demacia?

Jinx: Everyone except for Akali.

Akali: Yeah. Mine is, ex-expired or...something.

You turned to see that she had an ear bud in while she was playing some game on her PS Vita.

Y/N: What?

You walked over and grabbed her passport. The girls watched as you read it with wide eyes.

Y/N: Kali, this expired last year! How the hell didn't you notice?!

Akali: Cause I've been living here for the past year.

You took a deep breath to try and calm down as Akali pulled out her headphone.

Akali: Mr. Y/N, calm down. I know this place where we can get a renewal on the same day.

You tossed the passport back on the counter as your phone vibrated.

Y/N: Yeah well, we need to do that. Today. I can't be babysitting today.

You pulled out your phone and looked at the text your sister had sent you.

Y/N: I got to go to that meeting. When I get back, we're going to go to this passport place. If I'm late, Jinx will take you.

Jinx: What?

You put your phone away and headed for the door.

Y/N: You're the co-manager!
------------
You sat next to your sister as you watched the older woman across from you look through her files to find Maria's name. She was softly humming some nursery rhythm while Totoro was fast asleep on your shoulder.

Maria herself was out with her dad while you and Elizabeth handled this meeting. Your sister had stated that she would be grateful to have you be apart of Maria's life. You were more than happy to agree.

Teacher: Okay, here we are. Maria Montague.

She pulled out the file and set it down in front of her.

Teacher: It is so great to see you again, Elizabeth.

She then looked at you and reached her hand across the table.

Teacher: And you must be the uncle.

You shook her hand while you nodded.

Y/N: Yeah. Y/N.

Teacher: Well, this was just a conference I wanted to have about little Maria.

Elizabeth: Is everything alright?

Teacher: Oh, yes! Yes it is. Better, actually. She's very, advanced. Very gifted.

Elizabeth: Oh, thank God.

Y/N: I thought this was going to be about her kicking kids in their hohas or something.

Elizabeth: Or pulling her hair out and eating it.

The woman looked at you both.

Teacher: Does she actually do that?

You and your sister suddenly sat up.

Elizabeth/Y/N: No.

Teacher: Oh, well, I was going over her progress here and I have noticed that she has been excelling at everything here. Advanced math problems, English, even science.

Y/N: Oh, wow.

Teacher: And I wanted to just let you know that the school would like to speak to you and your husband about moving her up a grade, perhaps.

Elizabeth looked at you surprised before she turned back to the teacher.

Elizabeth: Really?

Teacher: Yes. Of course, we would like for Maria's father to be here as well.

Elizabeth: Of course. Of course.

You slowly nodded and looked at the woman.

Y/N: Then, if I may ask, is there a reason you wanted me to be here?

The woman looked at you and nodded.

Teacher: Yes. You see, Maria has been talking about you quite a bit in recent times. Since you came into her life, as a matter of fact.

You raised a brow and smiled a bit.

Teacher: It seems she looks up to you. It's always, "My uncle Y/N this" or "My uncle Y/N that". She loves you.

Y/N: That's...awesome.

Elizabeth smiled as she looked at you.

Teacher: And that brings me to why I wanted to talk to you. Braum has mentioned in passing that you are ex-military.

Y/N: Yes, ma'am.

Teacher: And Maria has mentioned that you have a habit of staring at things.

Your smile slowly faded.

Teacher: Your niece looks up to you as an idol. A role model if you will. And she is at a young age. The same age where her mind is easily influenced by the things she sees and hears. I do believe you know where I'm going with this.

You slowly nodded.

Y/N: You wanted to talk to me, to make sure I'm okay to be around Maria.

Elizabeth: What?

Teacher: Yes.

Elizabeth: Wait up, a second. I'm sorry but I don't see how this is any of your concern. My brother is just fine...

Teacher: Tell me, Y/N. Do you suffer from PTSD?

Elizabeth immediately went silent and looked over at you as you sat there. You looked at the woman, and nodded.

Y/N: Yeah. C-PTSD.

Teacher: And how often does it get triggered?

Y/N: Every so often. But it's never anything dangerous. I don't have violent episodes or mumble or anything. My mind just...gets lost sometimes.

The woman nodded.

Teacher: And are you getting help?

You shook your head.

Y/N: No. I kinda had a friend to help me through the rough of it.

The woman pulled out a card and slid it across the table. You slowly picked it up and looked at it.

Teacher: Thay card is to a friend of mine. He specializes in dealing with veterans.

Elizabeth: So, what do you want him to do?

Teacher: Well, if he truly does love Maria and wants to be an active part in her life, it's my suggestion that he goes to see this doctor. He needs to get help.

You looked at the card and sighed before you tucked it into your pocket.

Y/N: I'll, look into it.

The woman smiled.

Teacher: That's all I can ask. But, Maria really does love you.

You smiled a bit.

Y/N: Yeah. I love her too.
-----------
Y/N: That was fucking brutal.

Elizabeth: I know.

You and your sister walked through the parking lot of the school towards her car. Your bike was parked right next to it so you were both heading the same way.

Elizabeth: She's crazy. Telling you that you need to go get help for Maria.

Y/N: Yeah.

Elizabeth looked at you as you walked with your hands in your pockets. You could feel the card between your fingertips.

Elizabeth: Are you, thinking about it?

You looked at her.

Y/N: Do you think I should?

Elizabeth stopped walking and you did too.

Elizabeth: Little Brother, I think you should do what you think you should do. You've gone this long without help and if that works for you, then go ahead. But if you really think you need help, then you should get it.

You gave it some thought. Elizabeth sighed.

Elizabeth: You're heading out today, right?

You nodded.

Elizabeth: So, how long will you be gone for?

Y/N: A few months. Like, three, I think.

Elizabeth nodded as you placed Totoro down on the bike. He took his place in the bag that you now had attached to it.

Y/N: Once I get back, we can do dinner, or something.

Elizabeth nodded. You both hugged each other.

Elizabeth: I'm so proud of you.

Y/N: Yeah, well, it goes both ways.

You separated and you smiled.

Y/N: Now I gotta take Akali to go get her passport renewed because she's a child.

Elizabeth laughed as she unlocked her car.

Elizabeth: You know, I kinda like her. She would make for a good aunt.

She opened the door and got in her car as you processed what she said.

Elizabeth: Love you. Stay safe.

Y/N: Y-Yeah. Love you too.

Elizabeth laughed as she closed the door. You stood there as she drove away. You then pulled out the card and looked at it.
------------
You sat next to Akali in the silent waiting room of whatever God forsaken place Akali had took you to. You looked around and noticed that there was quite a few older guys. Now that you were really looking, you noticed that they were all Jewish.

Y/N: Akali?

Akali: Hm?

Y/N: The fuck are we right now?

Akali: This is that place I was telling you about. We'll get my passport up and running in no time.

You slowly nodded. You both sat in silence once again.

Akali: When you piss, do you go right through the zipper or over the boxers?

You sat there for a moment before you looked at her. You then returned to looking forward.

Y/N: Over the boxers.

Akali: Cool.

Receptionist: Mr. L/N?

Y/N: Yep?!

Receptionist: We can help you down here.

You stood up and Akali followed you toward the front desk.

Receptionist: Hey, how can I help you?

Y/N: Uh, we need a passport replacement. Today.

Akali held up her passport and gave her best smile.

Receptionist: Yeah. Cool. Just, uh, fill out these forms and we can help you.

He handed a clipboard of paper to Akali who took it.

Akali: Thank you. I love you.

She then walked away while you stood there with the most unamused look on your face.

Receptionist: Uh, thanks?

He laughed a bit and started looking at the passport. You shook your head.

Y/N: I thought we were going to be S.O.L.

Receptionist: Yeah. It's what we do here. Let me guess. She's a rapper?

You looked at him surpsied.

Y/N: Uh, yeah. Yeah she is.

Receptionist: Thought she looked familiar. My little sister listens to KDA. They got some good songs.

You nodded.

Y/N: Yeah. <clicks tounge>. They do.

Akali: Alright. Done.

She handed the forms back to the receptionist who smiled.

Receptionist: Great. It won't be any longer than two hours.

Y/N: Oh, wow. That's fast.

Receptionist: That'll be $350.

Y/N: That's why.

You pulled out your wallet and pulled out the cash. You handed it to the receptionist who nodded and took everything to the back.

Akali: Thank you, my Jewish friend!

You rolled your eyes and took a seat before you pulled out your phone. Jinx had sent you a picture of all the packed boxes in the moving truck. Everything was ready to go once you and Akali got back.

Y/N: Thank God.

Akali sat next to you and peeked at your phone.

Akali: Sick. Sorry about the passport thing.

You just shook it off.

Y/N: It's fine. Just...you know better now. So, keep this in mind.

Akali gave a salute and leaned back in her chair.

Akali: Hey, I got a question.

Y/N: Hm?

Akali: Whose ring was in that box?

You felt yourself freeze.

Y/N: What?

Ezreal: Yeah, I found a ring in that box under your bed.

Y/N: Why the hell are you going through my shit?

Ezreal raised his hands in defense before you threw your can at him. He swatted it away and sat next to you.

Ezreal: I was looking for that stupid flashlight you had. Still couldn't find it.

You rolled your eyes and looked out the window. It was rare to be in an actual base so you learned to appreciate the A/C. There was also a much lower chance of you getting ambushed which was always a gift.

Ezreal: You gonna answer the question? Who's the honey? Anyone I know?

Y/N: You're really fucking annoying.

Ezreal: Come on! You're gonna be my best man. Am I at least gonna be yours?

You gave him a look just as Darius walked into the room.

Ezreal: Captain! Y/N has a wedding ring and won't tell me who it's for!

You smacked his shoulder while Daruis laughed.

Daruis: Does he now? Y/N?

You stood up and looked at your captain. Everyone else began to flood in, back from their meeting, and looked at you and the captain.

Daruis: You will tell me the meaning behind this and you will tell me now.

Y/N: But, sir...

Daruis: That is an order!

You looked at Ezreal who stuck his tounge out at you. You then looked over at Rell who was confused about the whole thing.

Y/N: M-Me and....Me and Rell are engaged, sir.

Everyone's eyes went wide as they looked at you and Rell. Rell's cheeks were slightly red as you stood there.

Jinx: Oh. This is....unexpected. Wait, is she the one you've been hooking up with on leave?

Ezreal: Holy shit! That's why you've both been taking leave at the same time!

Rell looked at you, but you just smiled.

Akali: Who's Rell?

You just leaned back in your seat and sighed.

Y/N: The one who got away.
---------
Eve: First class, here we come.

You clenched your backpack tightly as you lead the girls through the airport. Your bags have been checked in, and now you just needed to make the flight.

Kai'sa: See, we have plenty of time.

Jinx: The lady who printed our tickets told us "You're not gonna make it" like five times.

You could almost hear Totoro and the guinea pigs complaining from their shared cage. Wherever that was, now. Ahri looked at her phone and smiled before she showed it to you. It was the KDA page. It was now up and running and everyone seemed to be talking about the shows.

Ahri: Not bad, manager.

She kissed your cheek and you smiled slightly. That smile quickly faded.

Roy: Is that "Pop Star Ahri"?

You all stopped and turned to see Roy and some other dude heading your way. The urge to punch him across the jaw was now strong.

Roy: Well, isn't this a surpise. Funny running into you here.

You looked at Ahri who was less than amaused.

Ahri: Hello, Roy.

Roy: So cold. I'm guessing you all are heading to catch a flight.

Jinx: Woah. You didn't say Boy Toy Roy was a detective.

Roy looked at her with a raised brow.

Roy: Well, funny enough, I'm also heading out. This is Eric. We got some new talent to scout over at Demacia.

That's where you were heading.

Roy: Maybe we'll be seat partners.

You rolled your eyes and signaled for everyone to get moving again. You all headed towards the security gate. You made sure to put yourself between the girls and Roy. Everyone quickly got everything in bins.

TSA: If you had any device larger than a phone, we ask that you take it out of your bag.

Your laptop. Of course. You sighed as you opened your bag to get it, when you looked inside.

The golden handle of the handgun was peeking out of the pocket.

You stood there frozen for a moment before you turned to the guard.

Y/N: Can I get another bin for this?

The guard nodded and handed you another bin. You placed your bag in one and your laptop in the other. You then looked at Roy's bin.
------------
Ahri: We made it!

KDA: Wooooo!

You sat next to Ahri as the girls celebrated with the drinks they had ordered. Even Jinx was celebrating with Akali. You just sat there and looked out the window before Ahri sat back down. She buckled herself in and looked at you.

Ahri: What's wrong with you, grumpy pants? We made the flight. Everything worked out.

Y/N: Yeah. It did.

Ahri looked at you and saw that you were flipping the business card around between your fingers.

Ahri: What's that?

You stopped flipping the card and looked down at it. You lifted it up and handed it to her. She read it and looked at you.

Ahri: Why do...

Y/N: I don't know. I'm just ready to get this thing started.

Ahri smiled and handed you the card back. She then moved to get comfortable before she laid her head on your shoulder.

Ahri: You know, you killed it. You've been doing such a great job since we brought you on.

You chuckled a bit.

Y/N: Yeah, well, I had a good group to manage.

Akali: Damn right you did! Where's the peanuts?

You and Ahri looked at her but you just sighed. Soon enough, Eric, Roy's partner, walked on, but not Roy. Jinx smirked.

Jinx: Where's your buddy?

Eric stopped and looked at her.

Eric: Oh. Uh, they found, uh, a tool on him.

Ahri raised a brow.

Kai'sa: A tool? What kind of tool?

Eric looked around.

Eric: Um...they found a gun. A gold one. He ain't making the flight.

Eric then turned and headed down the way. The group then turned to you as you sat there with a small smile on your face.

Y/N: No one fucks with KDA.

You leaned back in your seat and looked out the window.

Y/N: No one fucks with family.
