The DJ

You checked your phone one more time as Jinx finished getting ready. You were about to head out to the venue where Sona would be playing. There was another DJ, someone you were unfamiliar with, so you had some time. Good thing too, since Jinx decided to take a nap and woke up past her alarm.

Akali: So, you know this DJ chick from the army?

You looked over at the youngest member of KDA who was sitting on the couch playing your Playstation. You swore she played it more than you did at this point. Doesn't matter. You still dominated the XBOX.

Y/N: Kinda. We met her while we were on a leave of absence. Mostly by force. Since me and Jinx didn't go home, we went to one of her shows with some friends. No one knew who she was back then so we were actually able to talk to her. We kinda just ended up as friends after that.

Akali: Cool. I checked her out on YouTube. She seems pretty good.

Y/N: She is. I'm not normally the kind of guy who listens to that stuff but, she has a certain charm to her music.

Akali smiled and returned to playing whatever game she was playing. You looked at the screen and saw that it was....Minecraft? She was taming a horse.

You just turned back to your phone. You scrolled through your messages before you came across Ahri's name.

Ahri: I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!

You looked over to her bed room door and sighed. You haven't seen her since she broke down at the pool. You wondered why but you didn't exactly get to ask. Kai'sa was currently in the kitchen making some kind of Ramen thing for Akali, she was no longer allowed near the stove for safety reasons, and Eve was still enjoying her nap.

Jinx emerged from her room and headed downstairs where you stood up to greet her.

Kai'sa: You guys sure you don't want to eat before you head out?

Jinx: We'll just get some food somewhere along the way. Maybe some Bombastic Burgers from Bomb Burger.

Y/N: A bit reductive with the name, ain't it?

Jinx shrugged and the two of you said your goodbyes before you headed out. You tossed Jinx a helmet and the two of you hopped on the bike.
-------------
You and Jinx walked around the venue which was surprisingly very nice. The bar was set up near the back and the entire dance floor was already filled with people chatting and dancing to the music playing. Lights danced around showing a myriad of colors and the music was actually good.

Definitely already better than the Club Primal.

Jinx: Oh! They have Jack here!

Y/N: Really? Want a Jack and Coke?

???: I'll pay.

You and Jinx turned around and found a girl standing there. She was slightly taller than Jinx but she also had blue hair. Jinx squealed and hugged Sona who gladly returned the gesture.

Jinx: I missed you!

Sona: I missed you too. I'm so glad you guys could make it.

Sona let go of Jinx and hugged you which you accepted. You let go of her and your hoodie began to move before Totoro poked his head out.

Totoro:<Meow>

Sona: Awwww~ You have a kitty!

Sona petted the cat and looked at you and Jinx.

Sona: So, you guys want a drink?

Jinx/Y/N: Yeah!

Ahri sat on her bed with her laptop in front of her. She was dressed in her nightwear, an old tee-shirt and a pair of pajama pants, with her hair tied up. Her eyes kinda hurt from crying earlier, but she was in a slightly better mood now.

Her laptop played some cheesy movie she found on Netfl*x but she didn't really pay attention to it. Her mind was still off somewhere else.

She felt guilt. Shame. She already knew she had messed up all those years ago but now, it was much worse than that. You went and joined the army and ended up getting shot. You could've died and she couldn't help but feel like it was her fault.

It only added to pile.

The day you both fought, was the last time you spoke before she left. Before your mom....

Eve: Ahri?

Ahri looked up at her door as it slowly opened. Eve peeked in and looked at her friend.

Ahri: You can come in.

Eve opened the door and stepped in before closing it behind her. She was also dressed for the night with her nightgown and her hair up in a bun. She even had on her reading glasses.

Eve: Hey, Gumiho. How are you doing?

Ahri shrugged as she closed her laptop. She sighed and sat up against her head rest as Eve sat next to her.

Ahri: I'm, fine. Everything is fine.

Eve: I don't believe that for a second, darling. Talk to me. It's about Y/N, isn't it?

Ahri slowly nodded.

Ahri: It's my fault. All of it. If I didn't do what I did, he wouldn't have gone and joined the military! He got shot, Eve. The boy I grew up with got shot.

Eve: You don't honestly believe that you could've prevented that.

Ahri: I could've! I totally could've. If I wasn't an idiot back then and actually listened to him then...

Ahri began to trail off as she looked at the pattern of her pants. She honestly, truly blamed herself for what happened. Even after everything, she turned her back on you. She couldn't begin to think about how you must have felt.

Eve looked at her friend and hugged her as Ahri stared at her feet.

Eve: He's fine now. He said so himself. Besides, he doesn't blame you for anything.

Ahri: I know he doesn't.

Eve just sat there holding her friend while Ahri thought about everything.

Ahri: I don't need you. In fact, I don't want you.

Ahri: He must've hated me for such a long time.

Eve: Even if he did, he doesn't now. You guys have a cat to raise, after all.

Ahri's cheeks grew a bit red when she recalled what she said when you first found Totoro. How she was going to help raise him like a baby. She had said it since the two of you always made that joke when you were kids, but it seemed like you had forgotten it completely.

Ahri: He's changed a lot, you know.

Eve: Y/N?

Ahri nodded.

Ahri: He uses to be a huge dork. He recorded everything and he skated everywhere. He was so, him. Now he's different.

Eve tried to think of you as a teenager. She had seen some pictures of Ahri when she was still in school, but she wondered if you were in those pictures too. Hiding in the background. Maybe you were the one who took them.

Eve: I have to be honest with you, Gumiho. I can't imagine him as a kid. Especially after seeing him at the pool~

Ahri playfully pushed her friend as Eve laughed at her comment. It wasn't much, but Ahri was starting to feel a bit better.

You set the empty glass on the counter or the bar and smiled as Sona told her story. Jinx was fully invested in her tales from Shanghai since Jinx loved the damn place.

Sona: And then he says, "You're really a girl?! I thought you were a crossdresser!"

Jinx: And he was mad that you weren't?

Sona: Yes!

The girls laughed while you ordered another drink.

Y/N: Not that I'm not enjoying this, cause I am, but don't you have to get ready for your performance?

Sona shrugged.

Sona: I mean, what's there to get ready for? I put on a helmet and play my music live. I've done this plenty of times before.

Y/N: Hm. I guess you're right.

Sona smirked as she scooted closer to you.

Sona: Aww. Is your manager instinct kicking in?

You rolled your eyes as the bartender handed your your drink.

Y/N: No. Wait, is that a thing?

Sona: I dunno. I'm not a manager.

Y/N: So it's totally made up.

Sona sighed and stretched.

Sona: But, I guess you're right. I should get to my changing room now. I'll see you guys after my performance.

Jinx: Break a leg!

Sona smiled and waved as she headed off to the backrooms. You took a sip of your drink when your phone suddenly went off. You pulled it out and saw that Akali was calling you.

Y/N: What does she want?

You moved to a quieter place near the end of the bar and answered.

Y/N: Hello?

Akali: Y/N, random question that's totally hypothetical.

Y/N: Uh, okay?

Akali: How much trouble would I be in if I tried to make waffles?

Strange question. Normally the answer would be, "None. Go ahead and make whatever you want". However, this was Akali asking. The last time she was in the kitchen....well, you had to buy a new microwave.

Y/N: <Sigh> Look, if you can do it without making a mess or catching anything on fire, then go ahead. Though, I would prefer you had someone watching you the whole time.

Akali: Cool! So, uh, say that before this, hypothetically, I already did make the waffles and may have started an electrical fire. How would I pit that out.

Y/N:.......

Akali:.......

Y/N:........

Akali:......

Y/N: Akali, are you calling me while staring at the electrical fire?

Akali: Yes.

THIS GIRL WAS 19 YEARS OLD!

Y/N: Find the red fire extinguisher, pull the tab, point, and spray.

Akali: Cool.......How's the venue?

Y/N: PUT OUT THE FIRE!

Kai'sa laid in her bed and scrolled through her phone mindlessly. She wasn't really looking for anything and she definitely didn't care for the random posts that kept popping up on her feed.

She switched the app she was using to instead look at her contacts. She had a few friends she still kept in touch with as well as some students from the studio. Right now, she had some fellow dancers teaching the lessons while she was here recording the album.

Her eyes fell on your name. You were still at the venue. Jinx did say you two might go out with Sona after the show. Maybe she should send you a text? Just to check in on you? Then again, she didn't want to bug you.

Kai'sa: Let's find a family in the group. Together

Y/N: Yeah. Let's do that.

She blushed as she hugged her pillow. She had no idea why she felt this way toward you. Maybe it was your sincerity or maybe it was your kindness. When she saw you cooking or taking care of the others, she felt an odd sense of security. It honestly seemed like you wanted her around.

But, you were just being a good person. You were doing your job as manager. If anything, you seemed to keep your distance from everyone. Never really letting anyone get too close. You had things hidden that she wanted to know about. Not even in a mysterious way. She just wanted to be closer to you.

Closer, to you.

And now she was blushing again.

Kai'sa: What's wrong with me?!
--------------
You and Jinx danced to the music as Sona preformed her songs for everyone.

The lights moved and flashed with the beats and the entire room looked like some kind of neon wonderland. Your F/C shirt glowed under the blacklight while Jinx's hair actually shined.

You had gotten another drink and you could feel yourself starting to unwind for the first time in what felt like years. Being a manager was awesome, but even you needed a break like this every now and then. Plus, you did have that meeting with Lost Heart coming up.

It was always good to take some time to do something not work related. You would've considered the club your break but, 1.) You hated the club and 2.) That was still technically work. Plus you punched that dude and everything got kinda tense after that. At least you got a bit closer to Eve.

Actually, you had been getting closer to everyone in a weird way. You and Kai'sa had an understanding of each other and she was your cooking buddy. You and Eve were in a position to have casual chats about random things and she was very open to discuss her ideas for the group with you in terms of advertising them. Akali, well, she was kinda all over the place but she was like that with everyone so you counted it as a win.

Then there was Ahri. It caught you off guard when she broke down like that in front of you. She had cried in front of you before, but not like that. Even when she hugged you, it felt like she was holding you like you were going to leave again. It actually kinda, hurt.

You had seen that look on her face before. She felt guilty about something. You weren't an idiot. You knew she blamed herself for what happened. Like if she didn't turn you away when you were teens then it wouldn't have happened.

You'll have to talk to her about it tomorrow. For now, you were going to enjoy the night.
------------
Eve laid in her bed with her book open. While she read the black inked words on the paper, her mind began to wonder to places she couldn't explain.

It was hardly a secret to anyone in the house anymore that she had a collection of, how should I say, adult novels. However what no one knew, and honestly she would die from embarrassment if anyone ever found out, is that she liked to image herself in a lot of the situations she found in these stories.

A princess being raved by an untamed beast. A poor madien charmed by a prince. A middle class white girl who is borderline abused by a wealthy millionaire.

Fucking 50 Shades of Grey.

Anyway, Eve found a kind of solitude in these stories. Despite popular belief, she never had a serious relationship with anyone. Not even a sexual one. She would go on dates, sure, but she knew what they were really after.

Ever since she was a child, she wanted a true and genuine relationship. That went for partners, friends, and family. She kept Ahri so close because she trusts her in full. Time and time again, Ahri has proved her loyalty to her, and Eve was always going to return the favor. Even Kai'sa and Akali became like sister to Eve in the short time she has known them. They were sincere. True. Honest.

Then there was you and Jinx. She knew her standing with Jinx already. She was a bit weird and a total nutcase a lot of the time, but she never wore a mask. She had her heart on her sleeve and Eve could respect that. That's why she has no issue with her being your partner since Jinx was an honest person through and through. She had no problem speaking her mind.

As for you, Eve was at a cross roads. You never hid anything if confronted about it. You told her the truth with your time in the army while also making an actual effort to make her comfortable. You also didn't buy the diva act that so many believed in.

You were the only man she had met that didn't seem to want to use her. Well, the only man who wasn't family.

So it was no real surpise when she found herself suddenly imaging the man in the story as you. Her heartbeat increased drastically as she read the passage of passionate love making between the two characters.

She suddenly closed the book with a red face as she realized what she had just done. Her heart was racing and she now felt a longing for someone's touch. Even the private part between her legs began to tingle as she found herself repeating the scene in her mind.

She slowly placed the book on her nightstand and sighed as she turned off the light. She had some sudden business she needed to take care of.
----------
Sona: Another!

Y/N: Yeah!

The bartender slid more drinks your way as you and Sona laughed. Jinx slammed her whiskey in one go and ordered another.

Jinx: How about a toast? For the DJ of the fucking hour?!

Y/N/Sona: Whoo!

The three of you cheered and downed your drinks. Sona was done performing for the night and it was now 3:56 AM. Thank God you didn't have much to do tomorrow.

Sona: Another toast, to the two managers!

Jinx/Y/N: Whooooooo!

The bartender looked at the self behind him and sighed when he realized he was running low. It didn't matter in the end. In 10 minutes, the three of you would be on the street heading to Sona's hotel room where you would end up spending the night.

As you fell asleep on the couch, you smiled. It was good to let loose for a night. Totoro ended up sleeping on your back.
