Chapter 10~ Sweeties
«Wrong. Wrong. Bit right, mostly wrong.» The Doctor was walking around the museum.
«And that is why you should never bring the Doctor to museums. Bring me instead.» I softly nudged Amy, making her chuckle. Amy and I were following him. I took a look around: this place was simply huge! Filled with alien stuff and other things that I didn't have the time to observe because of this guy here.
«Hey! I love museums!» he protested.
«That's the problem!» I shouted back.
He rolled his eyes at me while I just smirked and returned to wondering around.
«That's great, can we go to a planet now? Big spaceship, Churchill's bunker, you promised me a planet next.» Amy sounded bored.
I was walking around when I noticed some kind of a box. I approached the glass and looked inside: there was something written on it but not in English or in any other language.
As I approached the writing became readable and I read "hello sweeties" on it. I blinked a few times, then narrowed my eyes to see if I daydreamed it, but nothing: the writing was still there.
«You've got a time machine, what do you need museums for?» Amy asked him.
«WRONG! Very wrong! Ooh, one of yours. Also one of yours. I want to be right about something and it's also how I keep score over who is most remembered. It's from one of the old star lines. It's a Home Box.» the Doctor answered.
«What's a home bo-?»
«Lizzie?» The Doctor cut off Amy.
I looked up at him finally taking my eyes off of the box. He was looking at me concern.
«I-I think I found it.» I told him, pointing a finger on the box accusingly.
«Ha! Brilliant!» He walked to me and kissed my forehead. I fixed my eyes on that box again.
«So what's a home box?» Amy repeated.
«It's like the black box on a plane, except it homes. Basically, if anything happens, it goes to the ships point of origin with the ship's flight information.» the Doctor explained.
«So?»
«The writing is old, high Gallifreyen. The lost language of the Time Lords. There were many days that these words could burn stars.» he said. I stared at the box even more scared.
«What does it say?» Amy asked and I begged in my mind that what I read wasn't correct.
«Hello sweeties.»
Oh, Brilliant.
~~~~
The alarm rang as we ran inside the TARDIS, the home box in the Doctor's hands. He then ran to the console.
I didn't talk: I stared in nothingness while I walked to the chair and collapsed on it.
How for the Gallifreyen's sake, I knew the lost language of Time Lords? I mean, it's not normal knowing the language of a burned planet of the alien I travel with.
«Why are we doing this?» Amy asked.
Because someone on a spaceship Twelve thousand years ago is trying to attract our attention, I thought but didn't say anything. I wasn't in mood for being clever.
«Because someone on a spaceship Twelve thousand years ago is trying to attract our attention. Let's see if we can get the security playback working.» the Doctor said, pushing some buttons.
Someone appeared on the screen but I barely noticed it. The second later the Doctor ran to the doors, opened them and someone fell on him.
«Doctor?» Amy arced a brow.
«River.» the Doctor, lying beneath her, greeted.
«Follow that ship!»
~~~~
«They've gone into warp drive! We're loosing them! Stay close!» River shouted to the Doctor. She still didn't notice me. The ship was shaking violently while I just sat there: legs crossed and deep in my thoughts.
«I'm trying!»
«Use the Stabilizers!»
«It doesn't have stabilizers!»
«The blue switches!»
«The blue ones don't do anything, they're just... blue!»
«Yes, they're blue. They're blue stabilizers!»
Okay, enough, I thought. Then I stood up, jumped to the console, gently pushed the Doctor out of the way and pulled the blue stabilizer. We stopped our shaking.
I looked up and made eye contact with River. «Elizabeth.» she greeted.
«River.» I greeted, smiling a little. I had small flashes of her in my dreams, but I always found her cool. In the corner of my eye I noticed a really confused Doctor. I spun to look at him «See? Stabilizers.»
It took a second to him to answer. «Yeah... well it's just boring now, isn't it?! They're boring-ers.»
I rolled my eyes.
«How do you two know each other?» Amy asked, completely ignoring the Doctors 'so-thought' answer.
«I know the future version of her and she knows me from her childhood dreams.» River told him and I nodded. Wait, She knew about my dreams?
«You know about her dreams?» the Doctor asked. I was curious too but tried not to show it. I just started pushing some buttons on the console. They were actually a fantastic anti stress.
«Well, of course I do.» River said joining me by pushing buttons on the console.
«Doctor, how come they both know how to fly the TARDIS and what's the story of Lizzie's dreams?» Amy whispered in his ear.
«You call that flying the TARDIS?! Ha!» he was really annoyed because we did. I chuckled at that.
«Long story which I'll tell you later.» I told Amy and she nodded.
«Okay, I've mapped the probability Vectors, done a fold back on the Temporal Isometry, charted the ship to it's destination, and... Parked us right along the side.» River told us.
«Parked us? We haven't landed.» the Doctor protested while I fell back on the armchair and let out a sigh of relief.
«Yes, we have.» I then agreed.
«Lizzie and I just landed her.» River added.
The Doctor looked confused.
«But it didn't make the noise.»
«What noise?»
«You know the... Whoosh whoosh whoosh.» the Doctor tried to imitate the TARDIS groaning.
I watched him doing it. «That was terrible.» I told him after he finished. He glared at me while Amy and River chuckled.
«It's not supposed to make that noise. You leave the breaks on.» River told him.
He rolled his eyes, sighing. «Well, it doesn't matter anyway. Come along, Pond. Let's go have a look.»
«Wait! Environment checks!» I stopped him, jumping up on my legs.
«Oh, yes. Of course. Quite right. Environment checks.» he opened the door and stuck his head out, and back I smiling in satisfaction. «It's nice out.»
«We're somewhere in the Gran Belt, there's an atmosphere.» River was watching the screen.
«We're on Alfalfa Matraxis, the seventh planet on the Dundra system. All toxins in soft band, Eleventh hour day... Chances of rain later.» the Doctor told us.
«He thinks he's hot when he does it.» River whispered to Amy.
«Everyone does!» the Doctor protested.
«Nah, you're always a dump weirdo to me.» He glared at me while River laughed.
Sometimes I wondered if he hated me. I mean, he would be only right, I'm really annoying. But I couldn't bare being hated by him. I don't know what it was but there was something that was pushing me to stay close to him.
«How come you can fly the TARDIS?» Amy asked River, snapping me out of my thoughts about the bow tie wearing alien.
«I had the lessons from the very best.»
«Well... yeah.» the Doctor blushed.
«It's a shame you were busy that day. I had to ask a friend of yours but you wouldn't let me fly it so her and I locked you outside on a planet and she thought it to me. Spoilers.» she told him then winked at me. I tried to hide my laugh while The Doctor glared at both of us.
«Right then. Why did they land here?» River asked trying to distract him from glaring at me.
«They didn't land.» I told her and could see the Doctor smiling fondly on the ground as he listened me.
«Sorry?»
«You should've checked the home box. They crushed here.» I told River while she walked out of the TARDIS. The Doctor, who jumped up from the chair and ran after her, shut the door behind her.
«Explain? Who is that, and how did she do the museum thing?» Amy asked.
«Lizzie, I let it to you.» the Doctor told me while I jumped up and sat on the console.
«Sorry, Doctor.» I gave him an apologetic smile.
He rolled his eyes and sighed. «It's a long story and I don't know most of it. Off we go.» he walked to the console and started pressing the buttons next me.
«How rude! You didn't get to say goodbye.» I told him, much to irritate.
«I can live with that.» he told me sarcastically.
I frowned at him and shook my head in disapproval «You're a Rude Bad Time Lord, you know that?»
«I can live with that too.» he said then returning to his levers.
«What are we doing?» Amy asked.
«Leaving. She's got where she wants to go, let's go where we want to go.»
«Are you basically running away?»
«Yes.» the Doctor and I said together, my head spinning around to face her as I still sat on the console.
Amy looked at him in disbelief «Why?»
«Because she's the future. Plus her and Lizzie seems getting along too well.»
«Oh, Please. You just don't want the chance of three woman having a laugh at your expense.» I said.
«Shut it you.» he said, as he walked in front of me and tapped my nose with his finger. When he left I giggled, freckling my nose because of the ticklish feeling his finger left on the top of my nose.
«Can you run away from that?» Amy asked again.
«He can run from anything he likes. Time is not the boss of him. But that makes him just a double dump weirdo.» I told her, then looked back at The Doctor who was pressing the buttons on the console.
«Wait, is it a planet out there?» Amy asked.
«Yes, of course it's a planet.» he replayed in a duh tone.
«You promised me a planet. Five minutes?»
The Doctor looked at me, searching for help but I just shrugged why not. He sighed in desperation, rolling his eyes.
«Five minutes.» he told Amy.
She jumped in excitement a little «Yes!» then ran to the doors.
«But that's all, cause I'm telling you now: that woman is not dragging us into anything!»
«Yeah, whatever.» Amy said and ran out of the TARDIS excitedly.
I laughed. I was so happy with them. I then decided to follow Amy outside but, as I was about to jump down the console and walk out too, the Doctor ran in front of me.
I raised an eyebrow, sitting back on the console. «How may I help you?»
«You, Miss.» he pointed a finger on me «Are in big trouble.» he told, a playfully pitch in his voice.
I looked at him in shock, my arms folded on my chest dramatically. «What? Me? What have I ever done to you, M'Lord?»
«Oh, you know it, Smith and you're going to pay for it.»
«Frightening.» I told him, nodding sarcastically.
«Oh, it should be. Cause this... Is The revenge of the Big Bad Time Lord!» With that he lifted me up and put me over his shoulder, causing me to let out a shout. I was skinny and shorter than he was so it was simple for him. He then held me by my knees, put them on his shoulders and let the rest of my body hang down.
I shouted and laughed «Ahh! Someone help!» I laughed out.
«No one's gonna hear you, this is the end of you!» he shouted in a low playful tone then spinning me all around the TARDIS.
I laughed and tried to get rid of his grip but unsuccessfully... and because I was scared he would've left go and I would've fallen on the floor hitting my head. So I gave up.
«I surrender. Please please please put me down.» I begged, a wave of nausea hitting me because I was hanging upside down. He stopped.
«You are?»
«I am.»
«You regret everything?»
«Surely do.»
«Fair enough.» he said and lifted me off his shoulders. Soon I felt his strong arms on my waist.
«But will you continue laughing and irritating me?» he asked as soon as my foot touched the floor.
«Surely will.» I told him with a nod. Haha, he thought he could so easily get away from me? Haha.
He smirked. «Good. 'Cause I would hate myself if you wouldn't.» he said, then gently tapped my nose with his finger and, taking my hand in his, pulling me outside the TARDIS behind himself. I couldn't be happier.
We went out and saw that River and Amy were near the crashed spaceship. So we walked up to them.
~~~~
Hello guys!
So, how are you all? I hope good. I'm in Sicily and God I think I'm going to die of hotness. Seriously it's like 40°C! Anyway, I'm sorry for the last part of this chapter but I really liked the idea of Elizabeth and the Doctor having a bit of fun. I know it's really childish but I am too. I hope you liked it.
Sofie.
