The Quidditch World Cup

The Quidditch World Cup

Half way through the summer, it was the time for the Quidditch World Cup, and Mr. Weasley had gotten us tickets. I was excited because it would be my first.

Although,  one thing about this summer unnerved me. Every time I would look at George, even just to talk, he was staring at me. He would turn away when he realized that I noticed, but still!

We had just gotten Harry from the Dursley's house, and it was the morning of the Cup.

It was 3 in the morning when we had to wake up.

"Hermione, could you go wake Harry and Ron, and Cora, can you wake up Fred and George while I go get Ginny?" Mr. Weasley asked.

"Sure," Hermione and I chorused.

I went to Fred and George's room, and shook Fred.

"Go away." was the response I got.

Then I went to George, shook him, and said, "Come one George, your dad says it is time to get up."

He was immediately awake, and helping me get Fred up.

We came down for breakfast,  and I was the only one, other than George, who was wide awake.

"Why did we have to wake up sooo early?" Fred mumbled sleepily.

"We have a long walk ahead of us." Mr. Weasley replied shortly.

When we set off later on, I walked with George on one side, and Fred on the other.

We were talking about some of our new merchandise, and I brought up the fireworks.

"That's going to be our best product, I think. It'll work the best." Fred said.

"That and the love potion." I laughed, looking at George, who turned red.

All of a sudden, two people dropped from the trees, a few meters in front of us.

"Ah, kids this is Amos Diggory. You should also know his son-" Mr. Weasley started.

"Cedric." I finish, stepping forward to shake his hand. For a moment, I didn't think he'd let go, but he did. Then, there was an awkward tension when George and Cedric locked eyes. The adults shifted uncomfortably, and so did the others.

"Hey! Snap out of it you two! I had enough of this last year! If you guys start fighting again, I'll hit your heads together, after I punch you both! Understand? " I exclaimed, making them jump.

"Yes, Cora. Sorry." they mumbled, turning red.

"Fighting? Fighting about what?" Amos and Aurthur chorused.

"Me." I replied, standing by Fred.

We got to the campsite, and set up.

We went in the tent, and I shared a room with Hermione and Ginny.

Charlie, Bill, and Percy showed up later that day, and I was sitting in the living room, with George on one side, and Fred on the other. Charlie was sitting on the other couch, and so was Bill.

All of a sudden, George did jumper cables to me, and I jumped sky high. It was like the fifth time this summer, and I was getting irritated.

"George! Do that again, and I will find wherever Cedric is camped, and I will stay there for the duration of the Cup!" I exclaimed.

"Ok, I'll stop now." George laughed.

"That threat doesn't work on me!" Fred exclaimed, using jumper cables. I went and sat between Charlie and Bill, and they were picking on me too.

Eventually, it was time for us to head to the stadium.

On the way, we ran into Cedric again, although they didn't lock eyes again, thankfully.

We got to our seats in the top box, and I was sitting between George and Charlie.

The Minister of Magic walked by, and talked to Mr. Weasley for a moment.

Then, my parents and Draco showed up. I immediately went to hug my twin.

"Hey, Cora." he whispered, embracing me.

My father glared at me, but I didn't care. I never took a chance to hug Draco for granted.

Cedric, who was seated near by, didn't know Draco was my brother, and was looking a little jealous.

They went to their seats, and the Bulgarian Mascots came out. They brought Veela.

Most of the guys around us were completely transfixed on them, just not George and the adults who knew better. For that matter, Ron and Harry were ready to jump over the rail. Hermione stopped them.

Fred, and Ron, and Harry asked George how he wasn't affected by them.

"There is someone much more beautiful, real, and amazing right here beside me." was all he said. I turned red, and Cedric mentioned he was not affected because of the same person.

As the match started, the crowd went crazy. I, of course,  was supporting Ireland.

When Krum came out, even Ireland's fans went wild.

Viktor Krum was the Bulgarian seeker, and he was the best ever. He was still in school too.

The match went just as Fred and George predicted: Ireland won, and Krum got the snitch.

We were going back to camp, and Cedric said he wanted to talk with me.

"No, we need to get back to camp, Cora." George said sharply.

"I'll be right there, George." I said softly.

Cedric and I stepped into the woods to talk, and he asked me out.

"I'm sorry Cedric, I just don't feel the same, and I'm not ready to date anyone yet." I said quickly.

"Oh, ok." he replied, stepping forward.

He pulled me in and kissed me for some reason, and set his hand on my back. Then, he moved his hand to under my shirt, and slid it up my back. Directly before that, he was holding me in place so I couldn't get away. Once this happened, I was finally able to break away, because he lessened his grip on my arm.

"What are you doing?" I asked, horrified now. Angelina was right.

"What do you mean?" Cedric asked, faking being confused.

"You put your hand under my shirt, and kissed me! What the heck is wrong with you?"

"I have no idea what you're talking about."

"At least when George kissed me he didn't try to take my shirt off!"

After that, I ran back to camp.

I just joined in the celebration for Ireland winning, and acted normally.

No one noticed.

Hours later, I was still wide awake in the living room, thinking. All of a sudden, I heard screams. I immediately woke everyone up, starting with George.

We all got outside,  and that's when I saw them. The Death Eaters.

I knew the one up front was my dad. I was trying to get to him to strangle him.

"Cora,  come one! We've got to get to the portkey!" George said, holding me back.

We got to where the portkey was, and Cedric was also there.

"What's wrong with her?" he asked.

"She's trying to kill her father, who is leadingmthe group. Lucius Malfoy has always been one of them." George stuttered, trying to keep me in check.

I broke free, but Cedric got me around the waist, and I remembered what happened earlier.

"Let go! I'll stop struggling if you let go! Cedric!" I shrieked,  suddenly very self conscious.

Finally, and hour later, we got back to the Burrow.

I went to my room, and passed out.
