Chapter Seventeen - The Finale
A month passed, and yet life was just not the same without my spark of happiness of a sister. Crowose still hadn't recovered, having to sleep alone at night now, and everyone else still grieved, even for Dr. Gwen, who they still saw as a traitor.
Even Madame Lee displayed signs of sadness. She was very unkempt and rarely snapped at anyone anymore.
Everyone seemed to be affected. I was thankful that Katie ways very supportive, always by my side. What really pissed me off, though, was that Andy was still his normal, happy self. If anything, he was even happier. Multiple times, I would've strangled him from behind if someone hadn't dashed forward to stop me. None of them knew that Andy had committed treason. If they had, they may have let me strangle him. Andy never noticed my murder attempts.
One day in early spring, I sat at Dr. Gwen's desk in the Spy Lab, swiveling in his old chair and sliding the pads of my fingertips across the keyboard.
I heard the click of the Spy Lab door closing and spun around to see Andy. He had locked us in together. Alone. That was extremely stupid on his part.
"There's no one here to save you," I threatened.
Andy said nothing, but dared to come closer. I stood up, tensed, ready to great him with a punch to the nose.
But instead, I let him come ever so close. Before I could stop him, he leaned forward and kissed me.
It was the most disgusting thing I have ever experienced, especially since it was with Andy. I attempted to pull apart right away, but he held my head. After a few moments, he let me go. I slapped him. Hard. Andy winced.
"I am sorry to have to do this, Lilliana, because I love you," he said. I filled with an overwhelming rage.
"Cut the crap," I spat, "If you did love me, you wouldn't have done what you have."
Andy looked at me longingly. He glanced down at the keyboard and pressed a button, then logged onto the computer. I didn't stop him. He pulled up a live video chat with Minister Honeysuckle, who was a spitting image of his grandfather.
Before I realized what was happening, Andy said, "The location of the Order of the Wicked is exactly nine point two miles due south of the Rosary Kingdom."
"Thank you," said the dictator.
"NO!" I screeched, smashing the keyboard. The minister had already hung up; he had what he needed. I threw a fury of fists at Andy. Then he lay on the floor helplessly, bleeding internally and externally. I hurt him too much for him to be able to move. My fists were forever bloodstained, or at least that's what I wanted them to be. As I left, I stepped on Andy's ribs for affect. Maye he'd die. That'd be good; it's more than he deserved. He really deserved to forever be tortured by the devil. I locked the Spy Lab door from the inside. Someone would fetch his body once the smell was overwhelming.
I flew up the elevator shaft and into Crowose's office. I burst inside to find her on her computer, as if it were any other ordinary day.
She looked up when the doors slammed open. "Lilliana, your fists –" she began but I cut her off.
"Andy told the Rosary Kingdom our location!" I hollered, "And my lips are forever poisoned!"
Crowose jumped up from her chair, slamming it into the wall. "God damn it," she cursed, then picked up the cord phone and spoke over the intercom, as calmly as she could manage. "Everyone, help each other to the bomb shelter! The Rosary Kingdom is on their way with a bomb!" I now heard screams and shouts from just about everywhere outside of the office. There were many footsteps rushing past. "Lilliana, get to the cellar. You are the last Ehvil. Help those on your way, but don't stop!" Crowose instructed fiercely.
I knew where this was headed. I did not want to relive the data mission. "What about –" I asked.
"I'll be fine! Just go!" Crowose waved me out of her office.
I took the steps two at a time through the crowd. I found a freaked out Katie and we silently, but together, made our way down to the bottom floor. The headquarters was in complete and utter chaos.
Madame Lee latched onto my arm. "Lilliana!" she began, rushed, "I'm afraid my term is up and I have to leave into the Dimension of the Legends!"
"Now?" I questioned as we walked, "But we need you now more than ever!"
"I know, I know," continued the witch, "But it is time. Goodbye, Lilliana the Evil." Then, like how she had come, the witch vanished into midair. I stopped dead in my tracks and Katie had to drag me along.
Then, the ground shook. People screamed as it shook again. The ceiling above us began to crack; there was no hope for the people stuck above us now. Mrs. Robinson shoved Emily into my arms as to save her only daughter. Katie and I just barely made it into the tunnel and down the elevator. This was the first time it had gone down due to the fact that it was old, slow, and had a long way to travel. Just as the doors closed, the ceiling gave way and all those, young and old, below it became crushed.
