Chapter Twenty-Five, The Wedding

Time flew by for Valerie and Jasper as the following day they would finally be getting married. At the moment, however, Valerie was standing on Esme's patio recovering from the Full Moon the previous night and watching as everyone set up for the wedding. Valerie giggled as she watched Jace, who stood in front of her, bop to the music, mainly Disney for him, playing from her phone. Emmett and Iris were under Alice's strict observation after they had messed about, defying her instructions the first time. It was starting to come together and it looked amazing. Fairy lights were wrapped around the tree trunks and strung from one tree to the next creating a canopy effect. Handcrafted wooden seats with white plump cushions were placed on either side of the aisle, wooden flooring was placed to the left of the tables for the dance floor.

Valerie really wished she could see Jasper and so does Jace, but Alice won't let him see them until they get married tomorrow and they were missing him a lot. The girls; Rosalie and Bree, were setting up the tables under Esme's strict supervision. Making sure it was how Jasper and Valerie wanted it, even if they wouldn't let Val help. The tables would look beautiful with dusty blue tablecloths, burgundy napkins, soft grey chairs surrounding the round and one long table that had burgundy, soft pink, dusty blue and white flower arrangements in the centre which incidentally matched the bouquets. Esme would be putting the table cloths and cutlery out tomorrow, so they don't get ruined during the night. Right now she just wanted everything set up and perfect, as Valerie watched everything coming together she was filled with nervous excitement.

"Mama." Jace called, pulling Valerie out of her thoughts, as he held his arms up wanting to be with his mother but still wanting to dance.
"Sorry baby." Valerie apologised, picking him up and placing a soft kiss to his lips causing Jace to giggle and return a wet kiss. Rosalie had cut his hair the day before, giving it a little trim to get it out of his eyes. But Valerie had kept a curl in a box with his name on it, along with his newborn shoes. Melinda and Jean-Paul had brought Valerie the box.

Jace hadn't been impressed during the haircut and had screamed the house down near enough. Kissing his forehead, Valerie twirled them around in time to the music. Dipping him down, (though she made sure to have a firm grip on him), making Jace's giggles ring around the garden.

Just hearing his laughter never failed to make Valerie smile. For a few minutes Jace and Valerie spent their time laughing and dancing to the Disney songs, until Bree came over to them. Despite Jasper's fears Bree was doing amazingly well, don't get Valerie wrong she still had a long way to go. But she was okay with Jace and herself (Valerie), which eased everyone's fears. The sweet little girl even asked Valerie if she could get a dress in the colour scheme of the wedding when Rose took her shopping, which Valerie happily agreed to. And didn't even care that Val was a werewolf and loved her like an auntie, she just hated the pain Valerie went through every month.
"Auntie Val." Bree asked hesitantly, from behind Valerie. Turning around Valerie smiled widely at her and kissed her forehead.

"What's the matter sweetie?" Valerie asked lovingly.
"Can I dance with you and Jace?" Bree asked.
"Of course." Valerie agreed, holding out her free hand. It was Bree's turn to smile widely as she took Valerie's hand, giggling as Valerie twirled her in a circle under their joined hands.
"Are you feeling better now, after the moon? And do you know where uncle Jasper is taking you on your honeymoon?" Bree asked curiously after a while.
"No I don't. And I'm okay thank you, sweetie." Valerie said softly. "He said it's a surprise. But I'm going to miss Jace for the two weeks we're gone." Valerie sighed sadly, holding her baby close.

"I'll help Charlie and everyone look after him, I promise. I won't let him get sad. And the two weeks will fly by." Bree promised seriously. Smiling Valerie kissed her forehead again. She really was too sweet.
"I know you will sweetheart, thank you." I said gratefully. At that moment Alice came over with Iris and Rosalie following behind her. The three of them would be staying with Valerie for a sleepover for her hen-do.
"Right. I want you to go home and get lots of beautysleep." Alice ordered sternly. "I mean it! No staying up late. You eat, get Jace ready and put her to bed, get yourself ready, let either one of us do your nails and facials then bed."
"Okay Alice I promise." Valerie said, hugging her carefully then bid everyone goodbye. After strapping Jace in and getting in herself she waited for Rosie, Alice and Iris before heading home.

The next morning the girls and Valerie dressed in leggings and t-shirts after their showers, as they would be changing into their dresses at Esme's.
"Mama. Dada?" Jace asked, looking around the living room later that morning as Valerie sat playing with her son on the floor, making her heart clench painfully.
"Soon sweetheart. We'll see Dada soon. I love you baby." Valerie said, hugging him close and kissing him, trying to distract Jace again with his toys.
"Wuv Mama." Jace said softly, giving a wet kiss to Valerie's cheek.

"Have you got your white bridal..." Alice double checked, as soon as they all stepped into Rose's bedroom, where Cara, Leah, Rachel, Angela and Kim awaited, but Valerie cut her off.
"Yes Ally, and Esme has Jace for the time being." Valerie assured.
"You need these." Rachel said, holding up two lacy dusty blue garters that had a small diamond on each of them and had hints of burgundy on them.
"So that's what you brought." Valerie realised, shaking her head as Rachel winked at her laughing.
"And we all have these." Kim said, passing around white dressing gowns. On the back in glitter writing it said 'Bride' on Valerie's, 'maid of honour' on Leah's and 'bridesmaid' on the others.

"Thank you." Valerie said, feeling a tad overwhelmed as she hugged Rachel and Kim and took the garters and the dressing gown from them. After stripping out of her clothes, she put on the garters and the dressing gown over the top, that was surprisingly rather warm, the others following suit. As they were rather pushed for time Alice did all the girls' makeup while Rosalie and Iris did their hair making them look even more beautiful than they normally are, once they were satisfied with their 'masterpieces' as they called it, they then did each other's hair and makeup. Once they were all done they started on Valerie's hair and makeup.

While Rosalie and Alice were doing Valerie's hair and makeup, Iris (under strict orders from Alice) made sure the girls were getting changed into their shoes and dresses. All the while, being mindful of their hair and makeup, they looked stunning.
For Leah and Cara, they wore a beautiful high neck dusty rose gown with burgundy glitter peep-toe heels. Both of them had their short hair curled slightly with the sides pinned back with a flower clip and for her makeup; she had a mix of dusty rose, chestnut brown and light pink in a Smoky effect, black eyeliner and mascara and dark pink almost plum coloured lipstick. And they had a bouquet of flowers that matched the table decor.

Rosalie and Iris had the same colour and style dress, bouquet and shoes as Leah Cara. The only difference was, they had styled their long hair into a classic chignon, wire light pink eyeshadow, winged black eyeliner, black mascara and slightly darker pink lipstick. Alice, Kim, Rachel and Angela wore a beautiful burgundy off-the-shoulder mermaid style dress that was covered in sequins at the top until the waist where it turned into a train of chiffon, dusty blue peep-toe heels were paired with the dresses and they had the same bouquets as the others. However, Kim, Rachel and Angela had their long dark hair styled in a bridal ponytail with a few strands framing their faces, whereas, Alice had her short hair styled like Leah and Cara.

For Kim, Rachel and Angela they had done their makeup to compliment their darker skin tone by creating a Smokey eye with gold, bronze and grey, small cats-eye with black eyeliner and mascara and burgundy lipstick. For Alice; she wore golden brown eyeshadow, mascara and dark pink lipstick. Angela had even decided to wear contacts today.
"Right done." Alice exclaimed happily, clapping her hands. "Let Rosalie, Iris and I get into our dresses then we'll show you." With that Alice, Iris and Rosalie quickly changed into their dresses.
"You all look gorgeous." Valerie squealed happily, almost bouncing in her chair in excitement.

"Your partners aren't going to be able to keep their hands off of you. Not Jace, he'll just give you sticky kisses and cuddles." She said winking at them, laughing when they blushed and chucked a pillow at her (which she caught), but they got told off by Alice and Rose for nearly ruining their masterpiece.
"Right your turn." Rose said, coming over to remove the cloth on the mirror when there was a knock on the door.
"Who is it?" Alice called.
"Auntie Alice, Mum, can I come in?" Bree's voice sounded through the door. "Jace wants his Mummy." She said, coming into the room with Jace in her arms once Alice had opened the door. Only for Bree to stop and stare at Val.

"What?" Valerie asked, confused, as she took Jace into her arms for a cuddle which settled him down. Valerie noticed as he snuggled into her that he smelt like cinnamon, like Jasper. "Have you been snuggling with Dada, baby?" Valerie asked, holding him close.
"You look beautiful, Auntie Val." Bree answered Valerie's earlier question.
"You really do." Rosalie agreed with her daughter. "Ready?" She asked. Nodding her head Valerie gasped as soon as she saw herself in the mirror. She couldn't believe that the beautiful woman in the mirror was her.

Valerie had light pink and chestnut brown eyeshadow blended together, black winged eyeliner, black mascara and rose lipstick. Her hair was curled back into an elegant chignon with a few strands framing her face. She had a similar bouquet to the others but larger.
"Oh my Merlin. Rose, Alice, thank you." Valerie said gratefully, as tears filled her eyes.
"Oooh! You look so beautiful Val." Angela squealed, coming forwards to hug her but was stopped by Iris.
"I wouldn't." Iris warned.
"Hey! No smudging my masterpiece." Alice scolded both Valerie and Angela jokingly.
"Told you." Iris laughed, causing Alice to slap her arm.

"Val, you are beautiful. All we've done is enhance what was already there." Alice and Rose said, kissing her head.
"We've been trying to tell her that for years." Cara said seriously, before sticking her tongue out at Valerie. "Jace, come to auntie Cara and let's get you dressed." Cara said, taking Jace from his mother.
"Bree you look beautiful. I can finally tell you now that everyone has stopped teasing me." Valerie said, mockingly turning her eyes gold as she glared around the room making everyone laugh. Bree was in a three quarter length sleeved, A-Line Scoop Neck Floor-Length Chiffon Lace Junior Bridesmaid Dress in cabernet with dusty blue shoes and her hair in a simple, plaited chignon and clear lipgloss.

"Thank you." Bree said happily, hugging Valerie tightly, who hugged her just as tight. "I love you Auntie Val, you and Jace and I'd never do anything to hurt either of you. Or anyone!"
"I know you wouldn't, sweetie, don't worry. I love you too." Valerie assured, kissing her forehead. Alice tutted at Valerie wiping away the stain on Bree's head before reapplying the lipstick, just as Cara finished dressing Jace. He looked so adorable in his blue pinstriped suit with a burgundy tie held to his white T-shirt by poppers and brown shoes.
"Oh don't you look handsome baby." Valerie cooed, holding her arms out as Jace walked over to his mother giggling.

"Right time to get into your dress." Rosalie said, walking over to her wardrobe and pulling out the dress bag while Bree and Leah played with Jace. Unzipping the bag Rosalie carefully pulled out the beautiful dress Valerie had chosen, gasping in awe as it was her first time seeing her best friend's dress. It was a creamy ivory mermaid style dress in lace at the top and turning to tule at the knees creating the mermaid effect. It had a sweetheart neckline and held on with clear straps giving it a faux strapless effect.
"It's beautiful Val." Rosalie exclaimed.
"Let's get you in it as your Mum and Dad are on their way up." Alice said.

Standing up Valerie took off her dressing gown leaving her in the white lacy underwear and garters, before Rosalie and Alice helped Valerie step into her dress and lace her up, and then helped Valerie step into her lace covered burgundy peep-toe heels.
"Rose, Iris, Alice." Charlie called, as he knocked on the door.
"Hi Charlie, Hi Renee." Alice chirped.

"We have this for Val." Renee said, giving Alice a box. "It's a family heirloom as it was Grandma Swan's." Renee said loud enough for Valerie to hear. "I really want to see you Princess but I can wait a few more minutes. I love you." Renee called through the partially open door.
"I love you too Mum and you too Dad. Thank you, both of you." Valerie said gratefully, as Rose attached Valerie's veil to the beautiful new-old comb and placed it in her hair just above the bun.
"There you look gorgeous." Rose said happily.
"Now all that's left is the bouquet." Leah said, handing over a large bouquet.

"Bree, can you go down with Renee and take your seat. We'll be down in a moment." Alice said, as they all smoothed out their dresses and picked up their bouquets. As soon as Bree and Renee left Alice, Leah, Angela, Kim, Cara and Rachel followed soon after leaving Valerie in the room with Rosalie and Jace as Charlie entered the bedroom.
"Doesn't she look beautiful?" Rosalie asked, as she picked up Jace, who called for his mother as if in agreement, making the three of them laugh.
"She certainly does." Charlie agreed, as he kissed Valerie's forehead, tears falling down his cheeks which she wiped away.

"Dad don't cry otherwise I'll cry." Valerie pleaded.
"I can't help it." Charlie refuted. "You look so beautiful and my baby girl is getting married."
"I'll always be your little girl Dad, even if I am married." Valerie reassured, as they followed Rosalie out of the bedroom and downstairs. As they were about to leave the house that's when it hit home for Valerie. She was suddenly filled with nervous excitement that this was really happening. In a few short moments she would be marrying the love of her life and Valerie couldn't wait. As they entered the garden and made their way to the start of the aisle 'A window to time past' from Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban, played on piano, started playing through the speakers.

Everyone got to their feet looking at Charlie and Valerie, but Val only had eyes for Jasper. He was standing with Jace in his arms under the beautiful arbor that he had handcrafted himself; he'd also decorated it with ferns, white flowers and a few dusty blues and burgundy roses. Jasper and Jace looked like a handsome pair in their matching suits. Jasper was looking very handsome in his dusty blue suit with a burgundy tie. On his left were Emmett and Peter dressed in matching suits, the girls standing on his right on the other side of the arbor.

A wide smile spread across Jasper's face as he looked at Valerie, the grin almost splitting his face in two, as tears built up in his eyes. Which was most likely a mirror image to Valerie's own face.
"You look gorgeous darlin'." Jasper said, kissing her cheek as soon as Charlie and Valerie reached him.
"And you look so handsome. I'm glad you left your curls alone." Valerie said, getting a laugh from those who heard them.
"I know well enough by now Ma'am." Jasper laughed, Valerie smiled happily before turning to her Dad.
"Thank you Daddy." Valerie said, kissing her Dad's cheek and then Jace's before Charlie took him and took his seat.

It was a good thing that Jasper was a vampire and had super hearing and Valerie was a werewolf with her own super hearing, as she wasn't paying attention to what the reverend was saying, getting too lost in Jasper's golden eyes.
"Jasper and Valerie have chosen to write their own vows to each other to declare their love. Jasper." The reverend said, gesturing for Jasper to say his first.

"Val, when you walked into my life, love walked in, too. I believe in the couple we will be together, the person you will grow to be and the person you've grown in me." Jasper started, staring deeply and lovingly into Valerie's eyes as tears started welling up. "With my whole heart, I take you as my wife, acknowledging and accepting your faults and strengths, as you do mine. I promise to be faithful and supportive, and to always make our family's love and happiness my priority.

I will be yours in times of plenty and in want, in sickness and in health, in failure and in triumph. I will dream with you, celebrate with you, and walk beside you through whatever our lives may bring. You are my soulmate- my love and my life, for now and forever." Jasper finished, wiping away Valerie's tears and slipping the rose gold diamond wedding ring onto her finger in front of the engagement ring.

Valerie cleared her tight throat when the reverend gestured that it was her turn.
"They say love is like magic and I honestly couldn't agree more. I take you as my husband Jasper, for now and forever, without any hesitation or reservation. You are my family, Jace's family and an amazing father to him, and I want to be there for you in all things. I am so excited to be your wife and share every moment with you. I love you utterly, completely and madly." Valerie cleared her throat once more before continuing, Jasper's hand resting on her cheek.

"Not just in this moment, not for an hour, or a day, or a year- I will always love you. For in all the world there is no heart for me like yours. In all the world, there is no love for you like mine. I promise to be a nurturing wife, a compassionate companion, and to always be on your side, always." Valerie said, as she slipped Jasper's ring on to his ring finger, the ring was exactly like her own but obviously bigger.

"Now the couple have chosen the intimate form of hand-fasting for their wedding as well." The reverend informed, as he wrapped a white silk ribbon around our joined hands.
"Do you Jasper Whitlock Hale take Valerie Josephine Swan to be your lawful wedded wife to have and to hold, through sickness and in health; for better or worse; for richer or poorer. For as long as you both shall live?" The reverend asked.
"I do." Jasper agreed happily.

"Do you Valerie Josephine Swan take Jasper Whitlock Hale to be your lawful wedded husband to have and to hold, through sickness and in health; for better or worse; for richer or poorer. For as long as you both shall live?" The reverend asked.
"I do." Valerie agreed happily.
"Then by the powers vested in me by God and the State of Washington. I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may now kiss the bride." The reverend said as he unwrapped our hands. As our friends and family erupted into cheers, Jasper pulled Valerie into his arms kissing her passionately, bending them backwards for a deeper kiss that lasted several minutes.

When they finally pulled back so Valerie could catch her breath, they erupted into cheers again, throwing confetti over the newlyweds as they made their way back down the aisle.
"You look very handsome Jasper, the burgundy definitely brings out your eyes." Valerie said, kissing his cheek as they stood before the tables waiting to greet our guests before dinner.
"And you look stunning. When I saw you, you took my breath away, for it felt like my heart had started beating again only for it to stop again." Jasper said his voice husky, as he pulled Valerie in for another passionate kiss. That is until we were interrupted by Charlie and Phil clearing their throats.

"Oh, congratulations baby." Renee said, hugging her Cub tightly as she started crying again.
"Come on love, let someone else congratulate them. Besides, Jace wants her parents." Phil said, trying to coax Renee off of Valerie as Jace squirmed in his arms calling for his mother and getting rather annoyed.
"Oh sorry." Renee apologised, pulling back and kissing Valerie's cheeks and then her grandson. "Congratulations to both of you." Renee said, hugging Valerie again and then Jasper.
"Thanks Mum, Dad, Phil." Valerie said, once they'd all congratulated us and Jace was happy on Valerie's hip in between Jasper and Valerie who had his arm around Valerie's waist. Next up, was Alice, Iris, Rosalie, Emmett, Bree, Carlisle and Esme to congratulate Val and Jasper.

Alice informed them she has been taking lots of pictures already and that they will have loads once she's done. Iris joking that Valerie may need another camera for that then, earning himself a slap to the arm, before Alice left taking the veil to put it away upstairs along with all the gifts they had received, which I was surprised at. Next, was Billy, Sue, Harry, Sam, Emily and the rest of the pack who hugged Valerie tightly and shook Jasper's hand as they offered words of happiness and congratulations.

Then, Angela, Leah, Cara, Kim and Rachel, leaving with a wink and a parting comment that they would be helping Alice, Iris and Rose pack Valerie's case for the honeymoon. Lord knows what the six of them are going to pack, she dreaded to think. Next, Melinda and Jean-Paul came up.
"Congratulations!" Melinda exclaimed, hugging Valerie tightly and then Jasper.
"Thank you." They said together.
"Congratulations to both of you. Jasper, make sure you take good care of them, they mean the world to Melinda and I." Jean-Paul said sternly.

"I promise." Jasper said seriously. "They mean the world to me too." Jean-Paul smiled and shook Jasper's hand, looking much more relaxed and friendlier now.
"Congratulations. Now, on your honeymoon don't do anything I wouldn't do." Jared teased winking at us.
"Oh come on man." Paul, Jacob, Quil and Embry complained.
"Jare, there's nothing you wouldn't do." Valerie stated dryly, rolling her eyes fondly at him.
"I know." Jare cackled. "I'll go set up the music quickly." With that he raced off to his Dj set.

"Oh he's got so big and looks exactly like you but with Jason in him too." Melinda crooned, kissing Jace's forehead. "We won't detain you anymore, but we'll talk to you later sweetheart." With that they took their seats. The pack and their imprints all sat over three tables, including Angela who sat between Leah and Jake. Melinda and Jean-Paul joined Renee and Phil at their table, just as a group of vampires walked up to Valerie and Jasper.
"Darlin', I'd like to introduce you to our cousins the Denali's." Jasper introduced Valerie to the 'cousins'. "This is Eleazar and his wife Carman, Kate and her two sisters Tanya and Irina."

"It's nice to meet you. This is our son, Jace, who's suddenly gone rather shy."
Valerie laughed, as Jace buried his head into Valerie's neck, smiling happily at the two brunettes and three blondes before them.
"Don't worry, it's nice to meet you as well Valerie. And can I say, you look ethereal and your son is so handsome." Kate said, smiling widely.
"They invited them." Irina hissed, her eyes locked on where the pack sat spread over three tables, stopping what Carmen had been about to say.
"Do not do this Irina." Tanya hissed annoyed.
"We invited them because they're my family, my pack just like your Jasper's family." Valerie hissed, narrowing her now golden eyes at her.

"You!!! You're one too!! How could you marry one Jasper!!! They killed Laurent." Irina hissed angrily, scaring Jace and causing Valerie to growl.
"Yes, because he was planning on killing my mate and son and nearly killed Valerie's sister. Now lower your voice. You are scaring my son and angering my mate on our wedding day. I married her because I love her." Jasper hissed angrily. "Tell me Irina. Do you condone the threat to my son's life? A baby, or that of my mate?" Jasper growled. Before she could open her mouth a thick Texan accent spoke up from behind the Denali's.
"If you unleash Major and cause Val to turn as she's a Child of the Moon, and ruin his and Val's wedding day there will be hell to pay. So I suggest you either shut up and suck it up or you leave quietly." The man growled, who Val knew was Peter.

With a huff Irina stormed out of the gardens and left taking off back to her home.
"I'm sorry Jasper, Valerie." Eleazar apologised.
"I do hope baby Jace is alright?" Carmen asked worriedly, as Valerie rubbed Jace's back calming him down as she glared in the direction of Irina.
"Just startled and thank you." Valerie said, smiling softly at them but her eyes were still golden and body still tense.
"My love, I'd like to introduce you to my brother Peter and his mate Charlotte, but she prefers to be called Char." Jasper amended, when Char mock glared at him.
"Thank you Peter." Valerie said gratefully, slowly starting to relax.
"You're welcome lil' lady. But you don't need to thank me, your family and I'd do anything for Major and my family. So congratulations! I can't wait to meet my new nieces and nephews." Peter said, making Valerie confused.

"He has a gift." Jasper started to explain, but got cut off by Peter.
"It's not a gift." Peter argued. "I just know sh- I mean I just know stuff." Peter amended under Valerie's, Jasper's and Char's glare.
"Peter!" Char scolded, slapping his chest. "Anyway, I know they're going to be as gorgeous and handsome as their big brother and their mother." Peter said, making Valerie blush.
"Congratulations." Char smiled, while shaking her head at her mate and husband.
"Thank you and I love your dress." Valerie complimented, looking at her tight, small v-neck dusty blue dress that she'd paired with glittery burgundy peep-toe heels and natural makeup.

"Thank you. I wanted to go with the theme." Char laughed, hugging Jace and Valerie and kissing their cheeks, Peter kissed Valerie's knuckles and gently ruffled Jace's hair before they took their seats. Heading over to the cake Emily had made, it was amazing. Valerie knew she wanted to be a baker, but especially for weddings. And she definitely had the skill for it, the cake was four tiers in a white and dusty blue marble effect. Each tier was decorated with marzipan flowers that matched the bouquets. Everyone cheered as they cut into the cake together which revealed to be red velvet cake Valerie's favourite, (Leah was holding Jace for the moment). Cutting their small slice in half Jasper fed Valerie her half and then Leah helped Jace eat the other half.

Once Valerie finished eating her piece of the scrumptious red velvet cake. She picked up her colourful bouquet that beheld flowers that gave off the most beautiful aroma, signalling to all the girls it was time to catch the bouquet.
"Okay ladies." Valerie said, a wide grin across her face as she looked over her shoulder at her friends who all readied themselves to catch it. Turning back around Valerie gathered momentum before throwing it blindly overhead. It wasn't until she heard Paul, Jared, Embry and Quil good-naturedly jeering at Jacob that she knew who had caught it. Angela.

A mischievous grin played its way across Valerie's painted lips as she turned around winking at a scarlet faced Angela as she was playfully being teased by the other girls.
"All right. All right, settle down. It's time to eat." Esme said firmly, calming everyone down as they laughed and giggled at the embarrassed pair. "I'll just put this inside for you, Andes, dear." Esme said kindly, causing Angela's blush to darken a deeper shade, now almost the same colour as Bree's dress.

Valerie and Jasper sat in the middle of the top table Jasper on her right, with her Dad and Leah on her left. Emmett and Peter sat on Jasper's other side. Melinda and Jean-Paul were feeding Jace in his high chair, spending some time with their grandson. Of course, all of the vampires pretended to eat their food, (for Melinda and Jean-Paul's benefit who only knew about werewolves), and had glasses of animal blood, which luckily enough could pass off as wine. Peter and Char were quite happy to have the animal blood for tonight as they'd had their fill before arriving and had brown contacts in to hide their scarlet red eyes.

While the rest of Valerie and Jasper's friends and family had champagne or Prosecco for those who didn't like champagne (which included Valerie as she thought it was the most vile thing to ever exist), and Seth, Embry, Jake and Quil all had soft drinks as they were underage, (even though Seth argued with Sue and Harry for at least one glass, suffice to say he lost that argument rather badly), and a beaker of milk for Jace.
"The arbor is beautiful Jazz, thank you." Valerie said, completely touched that her husband had spent a month handcrafting the cherry wood into something so amazing, covered with dusty blue drapes, with dusty blue and burgundy flowers for their wedding.

"You're welcome darlin'." Jasper said, kissing her softly and tenderly.
"Now that we're all full, it's time for the speeches." Emmett said into the microphone, a bit too closely for comfort, up on the stage, a wicked grin on his face. "Since moving here Val has become not only my best friend but also mine and my twin sister, Iris', baby sister. She has improved all of us in some way or other, and I've never seen Jazz this happy. Ever. He was a miserable sod, before you Val." Emmett jibed jokingly, getting a few laughs including from Valerie, as Jasper rolled his eyes at his brother. "But Val brought the old Jasper back, but it goes both ways. You only have to look at them for a minute to see how much they love each other. To Jasper, Valerie and Jace, may you three have all the happiness in the world." Emmett finished, raising his glass, along with everyone else.

Once Emmett sat back down, Jasper kissed Valerie's head tenderly as he stood up and went on stage.
"I'd like to thank everyone for joining us today and to my mother Esme, Sue and Emily for the wonderful food and cake they have made. But what I really want to do is thank my beautiful wife for coming into my life and bringing not only love into my life, but also the blessing of our son." Jasper said, staring right at Valerie with a tender smile on his face.

"You have brought the best out in me and helped me get past my anxiety and so much more. I love you and Jace with all that I am and all that I will be. I will be the best that you both deserve for you deserve nothing less. I love you darlin'." Jasper said passionately, raising his glass to Valerie while she wiped away her tears smiling lovingly, as soon as he sat down Valerie gave him a loving kiss. Renee was next up on the stage, but she barely got two words out before bursting into tears and being helped off the stage by Phil, Charlie, uncertainty taking her place.

"I know Jasper will be a good husband. Not only do I know this because I'm a cop and know how to dispose of someone, but since they met when Jace was a few months old, he has been practically living at my house. So, I've seen first hand how devoted he is to my daughter and grandson and I have no doubt he will continue to do so. But know this Jasper, hurt either of them and I will use all my powers and skills as sheriff to hunt you down to the ends of the earth." Charlie threatened seriously, making everyone laugh. But those who knew Charlie well, and knew how much he was devoted to his daughter knew he meant every world. Jasper nodded to Charlie who nodded back and handed the microphone to Esme.

"I want to thank Charlie, Renee and Phil for the beautiful young woman we see before us. I couldn't wish for a better young woman to marry my son. Val and Jace have brought joy into all our lives and we love them so very much and we will always protect them." Esme said, giving her very heartwarming speech.
"Now it's time for the first dance." Jared announced, as he started playing, 'Thinking out Loud' by Ed Sheran.

"May I have this dance, Ma'am?" Jasper asked. Smiling Valerie wrapped her arms around his neck, as Jasper wrapped his arms around his wife's waist.
"Of course sir. Who am I to turn down a dance with my amazing husband?" Valerie said teasingly, kissing his cheek. "You mean so much to me, Jazz. I love you so much." Valerie whispered into his ear, before he had a chance to respond Valerie's lips were upon his own kissing him tenderly as they swayed to the music.
"I know my love. I love you so much too. But thank you darlin' you truly are amazing." Jasper said, kissing Valerie lovingly once again.

Jasper and Valerie danced for a few more songs. Jasper twirled Valerie around under their joined hands, spinning her away from him so they were only connected by their joined hands, before Valerie spun back into him back to his chest with his arms around her and wide beaming smiles upon both their faces. For the last few songs Jace joined them in their dancing as he wanted his Mummy and Daddy. As they danced as a family Jace's giggles resonated around the garden bringing smiles to everyone's face.
"Can we cut in?" Valerie's Mum and Dad asked.
"Of course." Jasper and Valerie agreed, as Jasper now danced with his mother-in-law, leaving his wife and son to dance with her father and his grandfather.
"I'm so proud of you Princess and I can't believe my little girl is now married." Charlie choked, his eyes filling with tears.

"Dad, we'll still be living with you." Valerie assured, kissing his cheeks.
"You have a surprise when you come home from your honeymoon. I hope you still come to visit your old man." Charlie said mischievously.
"Of course we will, Dad." Valerie said, kissing his cheek, smiling as Jace had fallen asleep on Valerie's shoulder. After dancing with Carlisle, Alice took Valerie upstairs to change out of her wedding dress. While Alice put the dress back in the bag, Valerie changed into a cotton white skater dress with a contrasting sea blue crop top with a bow at the front, and silver ballet shoes. Once Valerie had finished changing, Alice took her hair out of the chignon and decided to leave it down after brushing the tight curls out only leaving soft curls in its place.

"Thank you Alice." Valerie said gratefully, hugging her tightly while still being mindful of Jace asleep against her.
"You're welcome Val. We better get going." Alice said, holding Valerie's suitcase that she, Iris, Rose and the girls had packed.
"Do I have time to put Jace to bed?" Valerie asked desperately, as she wouldn't see him for two weeks. Alice looked into the distance for a second, blinking and giving a small, quick nod.
"I'll go put the suitcase in the car." Alice said, as they both left the room, meeting Jasper outside Jace's bedroom. He was in a navy blue suit with earth brown shoes and a navy checkered top, and as always he was looking very handsome.

"Let's get this lil' wolf to bed and you look amazing, my beautiful wife." Jasper said,
kissing Valerie's temple tenderly. "I'm never going to get used to saying that." Jasper said with a wide happy smile on his face making Valerie laugh and peck his lips.
"And you look handsome, my amazing husband. I'm not going to get used to saying it either, to be honest." Valerie said softly, as she gently laid Jace on the changing table, so Jasper could change him quickly into pyjamas. Gathering Jace back into her arms, Valerie kissed his head lovingly while humming softly as she laid him down in the cot covering him with a blanket.

"I love you baby, so much. Mama will see you soon." Valerie whispered, kissing him again.
"Be good lil' man, and I love you so much. Dada, will see you soon." Jasper whispered, also kissing Jace's forehead and pulling up the bar while Valerie switched on the nightlight and baby monitor. As they left Jasper entwined his fingers with Valerie's giving them a soft squeeze for comfort and reassurance, for them both, but mainly Valerie as she was holding back tears, it was hard leaving Jace, while he switched off the light and closed the door softly behind them. As they reached the front garden, they saw that all of their friends and family were gathered waiting to send them off in a line from the doorway to the car.
"Have fun, and Jace will be fine." Esme promised, bringing Valerie into a hug and taking the baby monitor off of the reluctant parents.

"Have fun and don't do anything any of us wouldn't do." Jared said, winking, as the pack laughed.
"You're as bad as Paul." Valerie laughed, her mood significantly brightened as she hugged them all tightly.
"You day that like it's a bad thing." Paul huffed jokingly, as he pulled his Alpha and who he saw as a little sister into a hug.
"Of course not." Valerie drawled, teasing him as he pouted at her, his hand over his heart as he staggered backwards.
"See you when you get back Val, is it alright if we move here?" Melinda asked, distracting Valerie from Paul's antics.

"I'd love that!" Valerie exclaimed excitedly. "Jace would too." She added happily, hugging her and Jean-Paul tightly as they beamed at her in relief.
The rest of the pack, along with Peter, Emmett and Iris, made innuendo comments making Valerie laugh as a scarlet blush spread across her cheeks, while Jasper just rolled his eyes but there was a small smile playing on his lips.
"We'll see you soon lil' lady. It was lovely meeting you." Peter said, pulling Valerie into a tight hug along with Char.
"You too." Valerie agreed happily. "Don't be a stranger." Valerie asked. They nodded happily agreeing, and Valerie didn't need to be an empath to know that had made Jasper really happy.

Valerie finally got to the car where her Mum, Dad and Phil stood the last to see them off.
"So, you don't know where you're going?" Renee asked.
"No, it's a surprise." Valerie said excitedly.
"Well, have fun and don't worry I will spend lots of time with Jace and send you pictures." Charlie assured, kissing Valerie's forehead in a semblance to how Valerie had done to Jace a few moments ago.
"Thanks Dad." Valerie said gratefully.
"Have fun sweetheart and we'll see you soon." Phil said, hugging and kissing Valerie's forehead and shaking Jasper's hand.

"I love all of you." Valerie called to her large family. Getting numerous 'I love you too's.' back.
"Ready darlin'?" Jasper asked, holding the back door open as Rose was driving them to the airport along with Bree. Nodding her head excitedly Valerie slid into the back sliding to sit behind Bree so Jasper could get in. As soon as he was in they took off for the airport and the surprise honeymoon that awaited them.
