Chapter Thirty-Two, Betrayal

Unbeknownst to Valerie, Renee had contacted Alice and Iris asking them to meet her and Phil a month after Valerie had given birth. The reason? Renee wanted to become a Hybrid as well, after dealing with the pain of the Full Moon for most of her life she wanted to be free of it, and if there was a way why wouldn't she take that chance? But most importantly, Renee wanted to be with her daughter and grandchildren without the curse of time stealing her away from the only pack she's ever known since her own father passed away; away from her Alpha. She would've been a fool not to take it. As for Phil, he didn't want to be separated from his mate, daughter and grandkids and agreed to be changed as well.

So, after planning everything to the minute detail, they were now meeting up three months after Valerie giving birth in a secluded hut in the woods Alice changed Renee and Phil (using the needles to change them as neither Alice nor Iris had ever changed someone before), but throughout the process either Alice or Iris would check on Renee and Phil, monitoring them. As soon as Alice got the vision that they were to awake she convinced Valerie to introduce the twins to the rest of the pack in their wolf forms, so with the chaos that was born as Esme fretted over the food, Alice and Iris used this chance to get away running at a fast pace to make sure they got there on time to ease the in-laws into transition.

Valerie was a nervous wreck. She knew her pack would never do anything to her or her babies, and she was Alpha so she could easily put them in their place if they so much as thought about it, but that didn't stop her instincts and hormones from running wild within her, when a sudden tidal wave of calm, security and safety enveloped her comfortingly causing her to relax within Jasper's arms.
"If you don't want to do this now, Val, I can shift and tell the pack there's been a change of plan." Leah suggested, smiling reassuringly at her best friend while keeping one eye on Jace and the twins as they played with Seth and Embry.
"Thank you Lee-Lee but I'm okay, it's just hormones." Valerie rebutted, but a grateful smile adorned her lips.

"It's time." She called out, smiling as her twins walked over to her and Jasper holding Jace's hands. The twins looked like they were now four years old despite only three months passing since they were born. "Good job babies for helping your brother." Valerie beamed at Cameron and Aubrey who smiled happily at their mother and father, accepting the hugs and kisses off of their parents. "Everything is going to be okay my sweet little wolves, we're just meeting the rest of our pack." Valerie reassured them, kissing Jace's head once more she shifted into her wolf form as soon as Jace was in Jasper's arms. A second later, Cameron, Aubrey, Leah, Seth and Embry all shifted into their own forms just as Sam, Jared, Paul, Cara, Quil, Brady, Colin and two new wolves - one a reddish grey colour and the other a pewter grey with white around its eyes - that Valerie knew to be Sierra Littlesea and Belle Fuller. Brady Fuller and Colin Littlesea's older sisters that had arrived back in town.

Instincts taking over Valerie went to deal with the two unknown female wolves as she had done countless times with the others. When the two submitted to their Alpha Luna without issue, Valerie finally welcomed them and went to greet the others before introducing her babies to all of them. Much like her own form Cameron and Aubrey were a sandy blonde colour with a white underbelly, although, they were darker than their mother Valerie knew Aubrey would become a mini her even in wolf form while Cameron would stay the same dusty-sandy colour that he was now, if not become a mousey brown. As the five youngest pack members (Seth, Colin, Brady, Cameron, and Aubrey) were playing, Alice and Iris appeared with two shocking discoveries; Phil was now a vampire standing as tall and muscular as Emmett, and beside him stood her mother in wolf form with golden-red eyes.

"Surprise!" Alice exclaimed excitedly, drawing Esme, Carlisle, Emmett and Rosalie from the house while Jasper suddenly appeared beside his wife feeling rather protective while Emmett held Jace; keeping the two year old entertained.
"Alice, what?" Jasper asked, confused and extremely cautious.
"Renee and I." Phil started, wary of all the unknown wolves surrounding him and his wife who was eager to greet her daughter and grand babies. "We didn't want to lose Val and our grandchildren to time, and Renee especially didn't want to lose her Alpha as Val is all the pack she has left. So we contacted Alice and Iris asking for their help to change us."

"We planned it for months, even brought an abandoned hut deep in the woods and checked on their progress every day, and even coached them through hunting. They're fine, no trouble at all and Phil even has Telekinesis." Iris explained.
"Oh, that's what you were doing!" Emmett suddenly exclaimed.
"Emmett no!" Rosalie warned, knowing where her husband was going with this.
"I'm glad you're here Mum, Phil." Valerie said, shifting back to hug her stepdad and her mother once she'd shifted back too.
"As are we, baby." Renee beamed tearfully, holding her beautiful daughter close.

At first everyone had been worried about their increased growth rate until Carlisle and Iris looked over the Legends once more and it was discovered they grow fast for seven years until they are fully grown then they don't grow after that and remain unchanged. The passage had been written from a dhampir from a tribe in Brazil and it had also given his account on what happened to him as well as his diet etc. It came as a great relief to Jasper and Valerie when they brought it over to them at their home as they now had some reference to base the growth off of, even if the situation was slightly different with the added wolf genes.

"What're you thinking about darlin'?" Jasper asked as he kissed behind Valerie's ear, down her neck to her bare chest where he stopped causing Valerie to moan in disappointment, a smirk appearing on his face. They had spent most of the night making love or cuddling in each other's arms.
"Thinking that I'm glad we have something that explains the twins' growth and how lucky I am to have such an amazing husband. I love you so much." Valerie said as she leant up and kissed him hard and passionately. Using her strength Valerie flipped them over so she was now on top and Jasper was pinned to the bed as they made out. "I love you so much too baby." Jasper said huskily as he flipped them back over and slipped into Valerie, making them both moan in pleasure only for a knock to sound on the door.

Quickly using their speed, the married couple put their dressing gowns on over their naked bodies just as the door opened to reveal Cameron and Aubrey holding onto Jace's hands, as he stood between the two four year olds.
"And what are you three doing up so early?" Jasper asked as it had only just gone seven.
"Mummy. Daddy. Can we play in the snow today?" Cameron and Aubrey asked at the same time. While Jace kept saying snow and giggling.
"Hmm." Valerie said, pretending to think and tapping my chin in thought. "I don't know. What do you think Daddy?" Valerie asked as she looked up at Jasper.

"If they behave and eat all their breakfast they can play in the snow with us. If not, you and I will just play in the snow Mummy and our children will have to stay with their grandparents inside." Jasper said thoughtfully as they tried not to laugh as they exclaimed in outrage.
"No Daddy! We will be good and eat our breakfast! We want to play with you and Mummy!" Cameron and Aubrey shouted.
"Well let's go and make you some breakfast then." Valerie said getting up off the bed and kneeling in front of her children giving them a hug and kiss good morning, Jasper doing the same.

"Right," Jasper said, picking up Jace and setting him on his hip, as Valerie's golden eyes looked over their oldest but youngest children sternly.
"Go and put your dressing gowns and slippers on and we'll go and have some breakfast." Valerie said sternly but with a smile on her lips as she watched them run into their rooms. Once they were all ready they headed downstairs to give their children some nice warm fruit porridge and some orange juice for the twins and milk for Jace. Once they were finished Jasper said he'd wash up while Valerie got the kids ready, kissing him lovingly, to the disgust of their children which only succeeded in making them laugh. Valerie ushered them back upstairs where they all brushed their teeth and washed their faces.
"Lets get your clothes and you can get dressed in Mummy and Daddy's room." Valerie said laughing as they all cheered, Jace copying his siblings.

"Mummy can I help you pick Jace's clothes?" Cameron asked as they stopped in his bedroom first to grab his clothes.
"Oh course sweetie. Aubrey, watch your brother for a moment please darling, while I help your brother." Valerie asked as she sat Jace down on the floor next to Aubrey who played with some stuffed toys while they waited. Cameron and Aubrey were such sweet children and still doted on their brother despite their rapid growth and would always include Jace in everything, proven by all three of them coming into Valerie and Jaspers bedroom this morning. Sparing one last look at the two, Valerie headed into the closet where Cameron was calling for her.
"I'm here sweetheart. What do you want to wear? You need something warm." Valerie recalled as Cameron went to grab some shorts.

Soon, the mother-son duo has picked out Cameron's clothes consisting of black jeans, a white Spider-Man T-shirt, a red jumper, Spider-Man socks, vest and underwear, a blue army winter jacket and brown boots. They also decided on a black and grey striped hat, scarf and gloves set.
"Finished Mummy." Cameron says as he held up the Spider-Man vest, sock and pants while Valerie held everything else.
"Okay let's go get your brother and sister." Valerie smiled following him back into his bedroom where Jasper was sitting on the floor playing with Jace and Aubrey.
"Wearing all Spider-Man today, Cameron?" Jasper asked with a happy grin on his face.

"Yes Daddy. Mummy said we can all get dressed in your room today." Cameron announced as he sat down on Jasper's lap stopping his siblings from piling the toys on him.
"Well, how about you come with Daddy and Jace and help me pick mine and your brother's clothes while we wait for your Mummy and sister?" Jasper asked as he kissed the top of Cameron's curly blonde locks.

"Okay Daddy." Cameron said as he jumped up from Jasper's lap a wide smile on his face.
"Are you sure you don't want help with the boys?" Valerie asked as she passed him Cameron's clothes, pressing a soft but loving kiss to his lips.
"I'm sure. We'll be in, in a moment." Jasper said as Valerie pressed another kiss to his lips and took Aubrey's hand and headed into her room while Jasper took the boys and headed into Jace's room first.

For Aubrey, after a twenty minute decision, it was decided on light grey leggings with a cream jumper dress with grey stars and a red trim on it, red wellington boots, a red rain coat and a grey hat, scarf and gloves set. Aubrey also decided on a Elsa vest, socks and underwear.
"Got everything?" Valerie asked when Aubrey nodded they headed into Valerie's shared bedroom with Jasper, where Jasper and Jace were already dressed. The two boys were sat in one of the chairs as Jasper read them a story. It definitely looked like Cameron had picked out Jasper's and Jace's clothes and it was adorable but Jasper looked handsome and Jace rather cute regardless.

Jasper had on a dark grey long sleeved top, dark jeans, brown boots, a red and grey patterned woolly jumper and a blue winter bomber jacket.
Jace was wearing a grey and blue striped long-sleeved top, a cream jumper, blue jeans, a grey peacoat and black hat, scarf, and gloves set, and he had matching boots to Cameron on his little feet.
"Don't you three look handsome." Valerie exclaimed as she let Aubrey come in before her.
"Why thank you Ma'am." Jasper said with a soft smirk. "This lil' man picked out mine and Jace's clothes."

"Aubrey, come get dressed sweetheart." Valerie called, smiling at her daughter who had gone to greet her brothers and father.
"Okay Mummy." Aubrey said as she climbed out of Jasper's after she'd received a kiss from her brothers and father. Valerie was always amazed at the luck that had fallen into her lap. She really did have the most doting husband and doting father for her children, and she couldn't ask for more.
"Mummy, can I help pick your clothes? Like my brothers did Daddy, please?" Aubrey asked as she brushed her blonde curls out of her face.

"After you get dressed sweetheart." Valerie replied as she kneeled down on the floor ready to help her if she needed it. Satisfied with her answer Aubrey started to get dressed.
"Mummy, can you do my hair like yours?" She asked once Valerie had helped her slip her boots on the right feet after she mixed them up.
"Of course sweetie." Valerie said, grabbing the brush and patting the ground in front of me. A moment later Valerie and Aubrey were in Valerie's closet where they decided on dark grey almost black wet-look jeans, a cream roll-neck jumper, black ankle boots, and a emerald green peacoat with a hood with black faux fur trim. Thanking her softly and giving her a kiss, and after telling her daughter to go play with her siblings and Daddy, Valerie quickly put on some deodorant, green underwear and black Harry Potter socks, then she got dressed and put her hair up into two Dutch braids.

"Are we ready?" Valerie asked, coming out of the closet with a smile on her face as Jasper was once again wearing a crown on his head.
"There's my beautiful Queen!" Jasper declared as he walked towards his wife and picked her up bridal style, and kissed her hard and passionately.
"You look gorgeous my love. I love you." Jasper said against her lips.
"You look handsome my King. I love you too." Valerie said against him.
"Now my Princess and my Princes, our Queen has joined us. So we can now go play in the snow." Jasper said as their children cheered, making Jasper and Valerie laugh. They were already in their coats, hats, scarves and gloves ready for the cold weather outside.

"No Daddy. You and Mummy haven't  got gloves." Cameron shouted as he ran into his parents' closet, returning a moment later with a green leather pair and a larger black pair.
"Why thank you my little wolf Prince." Valerie said, kissing his forehead. "You are such a kind little boy." Valerie slipped on her gloves and Jasper slipped on his. Once Jace was in Jasper's arms, Valerie took Cameron and Aubrey's hands as they went downstairs and out into the back garden. Once they'd reached the garden Jasper set Jace down holding his little gloved hand as he giggled at the falling snow and his siblings running about.
"Jace. Watch us." The twins cried as they threw themselves down into the snow and made snow angels as Jace laughed.

Jasper wrapped an arm around Valerie's waist pressing a kiss to her temple as they watched their children play together happily.
"Be careful with your brother." Jasper warned the twins as they took Jace's hands and walked around the garden together.
"We will Daddy." The twins called back. They weren't out for more than five minutes when Jace shouted at them to see what he saw.
"Puppy!" Jace shouted as he left his siblings and toddled over to a slim and sleek wolf that had silver and white fur, otherwise known as Leah. Just behind her were two more wolves; a small wolf with light grey fur and a tall gangly wolf that had oversized paws, and grey and black spotted coloured fur that they knew were Seth and Embry.

"Hi Embry, Leah, Seth." Jasper and Valerie greeted as their children hugged the snouts of the wolves before they went back to playing with each other. Just as they were about to call them to head back inside, Valerie sensed and smelt someone from inside the tree line. Jasper must have felt Valerie tense for he gestured for the wolves to stand guard over and distract the children as he held Valerie close.
"What is it darlin'?" Jasper asked as growls escaped Valerie's throat as her eyes scanned the tree line behind them.
"Someone is inside the tree line. I smelt them. They were staring at our children like they were unnatural and a crime." Valerie said, looking fearfully at Jasper.
"Get the children into the house and I'll search the forest. Call your Mum, Emmett and Iris to join me and Rosie to be with you, lock the doors behind you." Jasper instructed.

"Leah, contact the pack now! We need to search the forest." Jasper said before he took off into the forest with Leah, Seth and Embry following after him.
"Where's Daddy going?" Aubrey asked as Valerie picked up Jace and started herding the twins inside.
"Someone was trespassing on our lands so Daddy has gone to find them. Embry, Leah and Seth are going to help him." Valerie explained. Once they were back in the house Valerie locked the back door behind them and took off their coats and hung them over the back of the chairs and put the hats, gloves and scarves over the radiator to dry, and left the shoes on the mat by the door.

"Cameron, Aubrey. I want you to go into the Living room and play with your brother, while Mummy makes you some baby hot chocolates and warm milk for Jace. I'll be in, in a moment."
"Mummy, will Daddy take the person to Grandpa Charlie?" Cameron asked.
"If it's a stranger then he will." Valerie assured her children who nodded satisfied and went into the Living room like they were asked. Quickly Valerie ran to the front door and locked that before going back to the kitchen. Fishing her phone out of her coat pocket she texted her Mum what had happened, receiving a reply she'd join Jasper and the rest of their pack searching the Forest, and dialled Emmett's number while she started on the drinks. After two rings Emmett finally picked up.

"Hi Val. What's up? No, you can't go that way Iris!" Emmett shouted, showing he was playing a video game with Iris.
"Emmett. Jasper needs you and Iris to meet him in the woods by our house. Someone was watching us while we were outside playing with the kids." Valerie said slightly panicked now that the kids couldn't see her.
"What are you and the kids okay?" Emmett asked seriously.
"We're fine. I sensed their thoughts before they could do anything and I got the kids inside. Jasper is searching the forest with my Mum and the pack." Valerie explained.
"Okay Iris, Carlisle, Phil, and I will head out now. Rosie, Bree, Esme and Alice will be with you in a minute. I won't let anything happen to you Val or the kids. I promise." With that Emmett hung up and Valerie finished the drinks.

Taking a deep breath to calm down Valerie made sure they weren't too hot and headed into the Living room smiling at the three of them playing together.
"Mummy, can we watch Beauty and the Beast please?" Aubrey asked after they had thanked their mother for their drinks.
"Of course sweetie." Valerie said running her hand through her hair, Val got up and put it on. Settling down onto the sofa with Jace in her lap and Cameron and Aubrey snuggled into either side of Valerie.

(Twenty minutes later)

Bree, Alice, Rosie and Esme had arrived five minutes into the film which the kids moaned at as Valerie had to move which made Val laugh. After greeting them and hugging all of them they went back into the living room and the kids all snuggled up to their mother once more. Half way through the film there was another knock on the door that Alice answered and it turned out to be Jasper with Renee, Phil, Carlisle, Emmett, and Iris. Leah, Seth and Embry were still patrolling with the pack. It turned out it was Irina who had been in the forest and who had glared at their beautiful children. Valerie didn't care if her mother made an Immortal Child, but Valerie's children weren't Immortal Children. They grow every single day and they are sweet and kind. Not to mention half werewolf.

"Mummy can we have another drink please?" Cameron and Aubrey asked.
"Of course darlings." Valerie said getting up to make them all some juice with Alice's help. On their way back into the living room, Alice was suddenly struck by a vision making her drop the cups spilling the juice all over the floor.

Irina was walking through a grand castle following a short blonde girl who was dressed in a black cloak and had blood red eyes. Finally they came to a throne room where three vampires sat upon dark wooden thrones. All three were dressed in fine and expensive clothes, two had long black hair and one had blonde hair. Though one of the black haired vampires looked listless as if he couldn't bear to live and was just going through the motions, the other, the one who sat in the middle, looked excited upon Irina's arrival.

"Ahh Jane. What have you brought us?" The black haired middle vampire asked as he took the short blonde's hand. "Ahh Irina Denali. And what has brought you all the way to Italy?"
"I've come to report a crime, Aro." Irina said fearfully. "The Cullen's have done something terrible." She said as she held out her hand and let Aro see.
"Oh my." Aro gasped.

The vision quickly sped before Alice's eyes. Aro, Marcus, Caius and all the guards coming for them after Christmas, as soon as the snow stopped falling and froze, becoming solid under foot. They were coming for all of them and they were coming for Valerie and her babies.

When Alice came out of the vision she realised tears had built up in her eyes, with Valerie calling her name worriedly. Iris and Jasper had their arms wrapped around their partners holding them close, as they led them back to the living room. Jasper pulled Valerie onto his lap while Esme and Rosie got the kids new drinks and cleaned up the mess that was made. Which Valerie normally would feel bad about if she wasn't so scared and worried right now.
"What is it darling?" Jasper asked once the kids were distracted by the film once more.
"Irina. She's betrayed us. She told Aro, we have committed a crime and they're coming for us, but most importantly Valerie and the children as they're Hybrids." Alice explained angrily, Iris rubbing her back soothingly to calm her.

"No! I won't let them hurt my family." Jasper growled, as he held Valerie close.
"What do we do?" Renee asked.
"We need to convince them. Cameron and Aubrey aren't Immortal Children." Esme said.
"They're coming to fight, not listen." Emmett stated.
"What if we were able to convince enough people that they weren't Immortal Children." Phil suggested.
"That would work." Jasper said after a moment as he thought over the strategy. "I'll contact Peter and Char." He said kissing Valerie's temple as he pulled out his phone.
"We can ask this of our friends Carlisle. With enough witnesses there won't be a need for a fight." Esme said softly.

"Val, we swore when we first learned you were moving to Forks that we would protect you and we always will. You have given us grandchildren that we thought we would never get and you are like a daughter to us. We will do all we can, I promise you." Carlisle promised.
"Thank you." Valerie said softly, feeling eternally grateful to everyone for what they were willing to risk.
"Hey, you're my second little sister and no one gets away with messing with our sister." Emmett said seriously.
"She's jealous there's nothing more to it. But no one gets away with betraying this family, betraying my sister." Rosalie said with a blood thirsty smirk on her face.

"I may not be as strong as you and Emmett but I can still protect this family." Iris said with a wicked smirk on her face. Alice smiled and whispered something to Valerie that only she would hear, causing Valerie to relax slightly and hug her tightly, thanking her softly.

"I love you my darling and nothing is ever going to change that. I will protect you and our children with everything in me." Jasper said seriously before he kissed Val with so much emotion that she thought she would burst from it.
"I love you too Jasper for now and forever. And I will protect you and our children with everything in me." Valerie promised before she kissed him with the same amount of emotion before they turned back to watching the film as their children climbed onto Valerie's lap. Which meant all four of them were now sitting on Jasper, which made Emmett and Iris laugh loudly. They may have a fight coming up, and gathering witnesses but right now. Right now, they were content to watch films with the three beautiful children.
