Chapter Fifteen, Emily's Hen Night

Valerie was feeling a little excited, despite being a little stiff from the Full Moon the previous night and having two battles instead of one as both Cara and Embry had shifted. Meaning Cara was the first female shifter, second female in the pack, besides Valerie. The reason why she was excited was because it was the night of Emily's Hen do at her place and Leah felt comfortable going to it as long as Valerie swore to be there along with her Cara, Angela, Kim and Rachel. Angela was being invited to a lot of things that happened at the Rez now, especially as she and Jake now knew what was going to happen to him and therefore them. It helped the shy girl ease into the situation.

"Are you sure you both don't mind looking after Jace?" Valerie asked, looking up at her Dad and over to Jasper as the pair of them sat on the floor playing with Jace and her Dad relaxing after work. He'd wanted to go over the missing file cases but Valerie wouldn't let said he needed to relax so he had fresh eyes tomorrow.
"Of course not." Charlie assured his youngest. "And if Jasper needs to go to the Forest I'd be more than happy to look after my grandson."
"I know but-" Valerie started, but Jasper cut her off with a soft kiss.
"Everything's going to be fine darlin. While you're at the wedding next weekend and Charlie's at work, Jace and I can have a father son day." Jasper assured lovingly, brushing a stray strand back behind her ear.
"Thank you." She whispered against his lips.

Half an hour of playing with her small family while Bella was trying to flirt with Jacob (who was thoroughly getting angry getting with her), and trying to get him to build the bikes, which he was refusing, Valerie kissed both Jasper and Jace and headed upstairs to get ready for the Hen Do. After a quick shower Valerie changed into a white strapless bra with matching underwear and put on some deodorant and perfume before working on her hair and makeup. She didn't want to get makeup on her dress. For makeup: Valerie created a smoked natural look, small black cat-eye eyeliner and mascara and light taupe lipstick. For her hair she curled her hair a little more before grabbing two sections of hair on either side of her head and braided them back into two fishtail braids that joined at the back of her head and finished with a quick spray of hairspray.

With everything finished she slipped into her white long-sleeved, off-the-shoulder, v-neck skater dress that stopped at her knees. Slipping her feet into her golden heels, her engagement ring back on to her finger and her keys and phone into her gold clutch bag she was done.
"Wow." Jasper said, leaning against the doorway as he looked at his beautiful mate in their bedroom. "You look stunning, my love."
"Thank you Jazz." Valerie said happily, a small blush on her cheeks as she wrapped her arms around his neck and he rested his hands on her hips. "Where's Jace?"
"Charlie is having a cuddle. He told me to tell you you're gonna be late. But are you sure you want to leave?" He said in a sultry husky voice, wiggling his eyebrows at her. Valerie laughed and slapped his chest while simultaneously pressing a kiss to his lips.

"You are terrible Mr Whitlock." She teased.
"Only for you." Jasper replied against her lips, kissing her once more before they headed downstairs holding hands.
"You look beautiful sweetheart. Drive safe. If you need to be picked up, call either me or Jasper." Charlie said, getting up to hug and kiss his daughter goodbye, but also so she could kiss Jace who was sleeping in his arms.
"I will, I promise." Valerie promised, kissing all three of their cheeks. "See you later."
"Text me when you get there safely?" Jasper asked, holding open Valerie's car door.
"I will. I love you." Valerie said, kissing Jasper once more before getting in the nice warm car.
"I love you too." Jasper said, waving goodbye as she pulled out of the drive before he headed back into the house.

Arriving today in the driveway to Emily's, Valerie quickly text Jasper before she noticed that Angela, Leah and Cara had just arrived too.
"Hey guys." Valerie said, getting out of the car and locking it. All three girls looked gorgeous in their classy white dresses accentuating their mocha and sun kissed skins. "You all look beautiful."
"Val! Are you okay?" Cara asked, concerned.
"I'm fine Cara." Valerie replied, with a wide grin as she hugged her dear friend. "Don't worry."
"Good." She sighed with relief, she and Embry had been panicking that they'd really hurt her despite being a True Alpha she was the smallest and she did have two fights one after the other. "And thank you. You look gorgeous."
"Thank you. Leah? Are you doing okay?" Valerie asked concerned.

"I'm actually okay." Leah said, with a grin. "Emily, Sam and I are better than we were before."
"That's amazing." Angela said happily.
"So, let's get this party started." Kim called, opening the door with a bottle of champagne in her hand making the girls giggle. As they entered through the door Rachel handed them a flute glass that Kim filled up and Emily slipped banners over them and tiaras in their hair.
"Happy Hen Do, Em!" Leah said, raising her glass and taking a sip before she hugged her cousin tightly.

"Thank you Leah." Emily said, hugging her cousin just as tightly with tears in her eyes but a wide smile on her face. "Right Ladies, let's have some fun." Kim cheered, raising her glass as they gossiped, drank and played games. All of them were laughing and joking and just having fun, even if they did end up a little drunk. Okay more than a little. And for the first time in nearly a year Valerie felt relaxed as she enjoyed spending time with her friends as they celebrated Emily's engagement to Sam and their wedding that was less than a week away.
