Authors note - This part took way darker of a turn than I expected, and is not at all the story I originally planned to write, which will be adapted to a different character in a different part, but anyway, this one gets disturbing and gruesome bits, so be careful.

In case I failed to mention it before, Zurich likes to eat things. His favourite things to eat are doughnuts. Oftentimes, if he is not in the house, and is not outside, he has gone to market to buy himself a box of doughnuts. On occasion he will share one, usually with Geneva, but most of the time he finishes the box. He also likes cookies, chips, and, almost as much as doughnuts, beans. Beans are supposed to be avoided in this house, because Zurich does not know what "moderation" is, and this becomes a very serious problem after the eating is finished. Unfortunately, Evelyn and Berlin did not know this, and brought home a can of black beans that they found near the road.

Evelyn - What do you think we can do with these beans?

Berlin - Put them in the shower shampoo and give Beijing a nasty surprise?

Evelyn - Maybe we can hide them in Warsaw's bed and make him super embarrassed!

Zurich - Are those... Beans?

Evelyn and Berlin - Aagh! Where were you?!

Zurich - Sorry, I just heard the word "beans" and I... I haven't had beans in a long time...

Evelyn notices Zurich staring hungrily at the can. Before she can stop him, he snatches it off of the floor, scratches the lid open with a claw, and drains everything from the can into his mouth.

Zurich - Mmm...

Evelyn - What?! That was four servings of beans! How did you eat all of those?!

Geneva enters the room and sees the emptied can of beans on the floor.

Geneva - Oh grief... What have you done?!

Berlin - He snatched our beans!

Geneva - If he's tasted the beans, then its too late! Come with me, children!

Geneva grabs the two Eevees with her feelers and dashes out of the room. Warsaw enters to see Zurich standing in the doorway.

Warsaw - Hey Zurich. What's up?

Zurich - Give me the beans.

Warsaw - W-what?

As Warsaw begins to back away slowly, Zurich pounces and pins Warsaw to the ground.

Zurich - Give me the BEANS!

Warsaw - Let's just calm down, okay?! Just calm down, calm down, calm dow... AAAAAUUUUGH!!

Ottawa hears a cry from outside the freezer and, after deciding it would be interesting to investigate, goes to find the source. All she finds is Warsaw, fainted on the floor and badly bitten. She rushes him to a medical centre nearby.

Meanwhile, Tokyo is obliviously speed running Sonic The Hedgehog on his mobile phone, so he notices only too late when the bean-crazed Umbreon enters the room. Zurich tackles him to the ground, causing Sonic to die.

Zurich - BEANS!!

Tokyo - Oh grief, no! I don't have any! Zurich! Ow! Stop! Stop! I'm not beans! STOP IT!! AAAAAAA!!

Beijing recognises the screams of her brother and calmly walks to the living room.

Beijing - Okay, who's tickling him now... Oh God, what? Zurich, what the hell?! Oh God, no, Zurich, stop! AAAAAAA!!

Jessie hears the cries of Beijing.

Jessie - Sweet, sweet music.

Meanwhile, Geneva is hiding in the closet, holding tightly to Evelyn and Berlin. Through a gap in the door, they see Zurich pass by. His fur is matted and clumpy, and he doesn't look like himself anymore. Evelyn releases an involuntary gasp. Zurich stops. He takes a long drag of breath.

Zurich - I smell... BEANS.

Geneva - Oh, grief.

Zurich throws open the closet. Geneva throws the Eevees past Zurich, and shouts a quick message to them.

Geneva - Go to the kitchen! Find him a doughnut! AAAAAAA!!

Evelyn and Berlin watch in horror what Zurich does to Geneva, until he turns towards them. They bolt for the kitchen.

Evelyn - There's gotta be doughnuts in the fridge! Right?

Berlin - I dunno, I thought they'd be in the pantry!

Evelyn - We can split up and search!

Berlin - Oh grief! Okay!

Evelyn opens the fridge and searches for the doughnuts, but they aren't there. She goes wide eyed as she realises that Zurich is right behind her and she has no escape.

Evelyn - Zurich! Please stop!

Zurich - BEANS!

He pounces.

Berlin hears Evelyn screaming from the fridge.

Berlin - Oh grief, HOLD ON!!
I THINK I FOUND THEM!

Berlin takes out a package of 12 doughnuts from the pantry and throws it on the floor. Zurich takes his head out of the fridge to look at the package. Evelyn's screaming stops, and Zurich opens the package and scarfs down each of them in seconds.

Zurich comes to with a sweet and a strange taste in his mouth. He sees Berlin in front of him, but not Evelyn, who was there a moment ago. The can of beans has now turned into an empty doughnut package, and Berlin looks terrified and distraught. Zurich can feel an unpleasant, sticky wetness in his fur.

Zurich - Berlin? What happened? Why am I all wet and sticky? And where's Evelyn?

Berlin points to the fridge. He looks like he's beginning to cry.

Berlin - Sh-she's in th-there...

Zurich looks into the fridge and sees a tiny, mangled body sitting.

Zurich - Oh, grief! Evelyn, are you okay?!

Evelyn - Ow...

Zurich - D-did I do this?! Why did I do this?!

Jan comes inside the house after having been helping Krakow in the garden.

Jan - Hello! How's everybody? Also, where's everybody?

Zurich - Jan! Help! Please! I've done something terrible!

Jan sees Zurich's matted fur, his closeness to tears, and smells a strong scent of iron, and fears the worst. She finds Evelyn in the fridge, and quickly rushes her to the medical centre, where she finds Ottawa and a badly injured, but presently conscious, Warsaw.

Ottawa - Oh, grief! Evelyn too?!

Jan - Zurich told me he'd "done something terrible." Do either of you know what happened?

Warsaw - I walked into the kitchen, and I find Zurich muttering about beans, and then he attacks me!

Jan - Beans? How did he get a hold of beans? He gets crazy around beans, but especially if he hasn't had them for awhile. There could be more injured that I don't know about!

Jan dashes home and back to the medical centre until she has brought Geneva, Tokyo, and Beijing there. Fortunately, they all regain consciousness. Jan goes home, but Ottawa stays with the five injured, who must stay overnight. At the house, Zurich is hiding in the tub, feeling guilty, shameful, and afraid.

Jan - Zurich.

Zurich - I just hadn't had beans in a long time! And Evelyn and Berlin had a can of beans, and I couldn't help myself! I didn't think it would be that bad! Are they okay?

Jan - They'll be back tomorrow.

Zurich - And they'll hate me.

Jan - No, they won't hate you! You are friends, and you have a good soul.

Zurich - But they won't look at me the same. They'll keep their distance. They won't trust me. I frightened them! I hurt them! And they won't forgive me!

Zurich begins to sob in the tub. Jan cannot say anything to the inconsolable Umbreon, and she is forced to leave him.
