Ells' POV
So, I sat down next to Simon, and watched as his translucent eyes stared contently into the fire. His hair was also the slightest bit translucent, but in a sleepy, messy kind of way. He must've been laying here for a while...

Once in a while, there would be a clicking noise, like when you clink two glasses together, from the other side of the room. But, I tried not to think much of it.

"Hey Simon." I said to him, hoping I could try to lighten his cold expression.

"Hey." He said, blankly and quickly, continuing to stare into the burning red abyss.

"Um... you ok, Si? You've not really shown much since we got to this place. Everything ok?" I asked him softly.

"Ells, as your BCC, I am here to keep you safe from harm's way. I still don't exactly know the guardians that well, so, I still can't really trust them. I don't have a feeling that your father would approve of them tagging along, either." Simon said, looking straight into my eyes with his own.

I didn't know what to believe, or what to think. Everything recently had just been going out of wack. All of this stress, was piling up on me. And finally, I had just about enough.

"But why, Simon? Why wouldn't my father, who should be loving and caring for my decisions, approve of the people that I think are my friends?!" I said to Simon angrily.

"Please, Ells, don't be upset. There is so much I want to say, but, I'm just not allowed-"

"Do you not understand what I go through?! I have to watch my friends deal with this with a brave face, when I know, deep inside, they are just as stressed as I am. And, if you don't understand, well, picture this. Would you like to see the people you cherish die? Huh? Well, do you?!"

Simon just stared at me, emotionless as always.

"Of course you don't understand... your just a robot..." I said, walking off, holding the tears back.

~*Timeskip*~

I opened the door, seeing as the little desk lamp illumination the corner of the room for where I was sleeping. Astrid, who was sleeping next to me, was now awake, putting on his shoes.

Once he saw me, he didn't even stop to finish putting on his shoes. He gave me a warm hug.

"Oh, thank goodness your ok! I woke up, and wanted to talk to you about something, but, you weren't there." He said, as he put his stuff away, leading me to sit in the two chairs.

"So, what is it? What's the matter?" I asked him, my head starting to hurt from the argument we and Simon had.

"It's about Simon."

Why Simon? Can't we just stop talking about him for just a second?

"What do you mean?" I asked him. Astrid and Simon, ever since they met, haven't seemed to be the bestest of friends.

"Well, Simon never gives a break. He's always changing in his mood. But, what scared me the most, is the fact that he wants to travel with you. Only you. I'm afraid he may not mean good news." Astrid said, looking down at me with those eyes I can't look away from.

Then, we just kinda locked eyes. Something about him made it so I couldn't look away.

I don't want to admit it, but, I was falling deeper in love with him.
