2 - A Surprise in the Library
The bookshelf had opened up, leading into a bright and colorful world. A sparkling rainbow bordered the entrance to the mystical land. Red roses loomed around the grassy green hills. The smell of freshly baked pie and honey drifted into the humid air of the library. The sound of children laughing and playing filled the air. All in all the place was like a dream.
Kelsey cautiously stepped into the portal. The second Kelsey's right foot touched the soft grass, the portal made a gasping sound. Kelsey turned around to see that the portal had shut. At that moment, a series of events played out. The clear blue skies suddenly turned white as a swarm of clouds covered the clear skies. They started to fly in-right towards Kelsey! She screeched for help, her brunette ponytail flapping in the sudden wind. She was swept into the cold, white clouds.
The clouds carried Kelsey into a grassy field with a large banner declaring, "The 33rd Annual Jewel Fest" and a long line of people descending out of it. She was carefully placed in the back of the line. She stood in line unnoticed until a little girl came up to her and asked her what her name was. As soon as she replied, the girl started yelping, "She's here, she's here!" Suddenly, hordes of townsfolk started crowding around a claustrophobic Kelsey. Someone near the front of the line blew a trumpet. Everyone fell silent. "Please make way for Miss Kelsenia Marie Cline!" Kelsey blushed wondering, "How on Earth do they know my whole name?"
A 15 year old teenager with a name tag that read Alice came from the front and told her about what was going on. Supposedly, her visit had been anticipated. She was now in Magic Libriana, and all the townspeople and librarians were Librians. She was now to participate in a quest to find three ancient jewels; the red colored Fictisma, the blue colored Non-Fictisma, and the yellow colored Magadilli. They were all hidden in her world. Once she found each one, it would return itself. At the end, once she had found all three, a prize would be sent to her.
It seemed fairly easy. Find the red crystal, blue crystal, and the yellow crystal. Get your prize and the gratitude of all the Librians forever. Get free self-apreciation! Yay! This would be a piece of sugary-sweet raspberry chocolate marble cake. The clouds came back and Kelsey was swept off and deposited into the ever-familiar fiction and magic section, wondering, "Did that even happen?" Then she remembered the locket. It was vibrating. She picked it up and saw it open itself. Gold dust poured out to spell the words Good luck! The pieces of dust rearanged to make out the sentence This locket was our setup to find you. This is our version of what you call a 'call.' " The dust scattered one last time to spell "Happy Hunting! -Alice"
